Great video! Props to you guys for riding that terrain on those big bikes. Also props for videoing it in 3rd person rather than just uploading 2 hours of unedited monotonous helmet-cam footage.
Looks like a blast! Good job guys! The challenge of the big bikes is also what adds to the adventure - but only with a good group of riding buddies like this...if I was alone on my Tenere in this terrain, it'd be a quick descent from an adventure to a nightmare!
Most impressive getting those big girls out in that terrain. Most would complain that they are not made for it but it's fun to test yourself as well as improve your skills. If you are to scared to ever try lots of different terrain then get yourself a pit bike or a mountain bike or stay home.
I have an XT1200Z and would never ride it in that type of terrain. Kudos for trying though. Their weight makes them almost unusable in slippery, muddy, and certain loose soil conditions. They are great when used to go long distances off-road, but you have to stay away from the kind of stuff in this video or your going to have a bad day.
elismerésem hogy a tenerevel igy nekivágtál. en is probaltam mar ilyesmi terepen de tul nehez ez a gep ehhez. egyszer jol el is dobtam:) maradok inkabb aszfalton meg földuton.
Hello, first of all, I must say I'm impressed of what you do with those big bikes!! When I grow I wanna be like you :D! I have one question: where did you get the front mudguard?? It's awesome!!!
my thoughts are simillar: bigger the bike, slower it gets in such conditions. walking would be faster, so why use bikes at all? :-) ie, those woods are place for trial or cross bikes.
Most of this bikes are less heavier when they take speed, so there is no special o extreme skill to move them trought difficult terrain if you know the bike well and have some experience with them...
Allandoan a DRZvel hasonlitgatom, es a DRZ "szemre, es elmeletben" jobbnak tunik.
I wish the guy on the CRT could have proved the bike a little better....the big fat bikes made way better trail bikes...but the riders are the ones the prove it.
This video sould have a different title. "ktm andventure off road action" or "we lost in the woods with bikes that are no suitable for this kind of terrain and we try to find the road" ...best part at 03:35 ! ..so much laugh !!! ..i wanted to see the tenere in that course! ...because as we all sew, tenere skip some routes......AND I DON΄T KNOW WHY !!?!!! I like the old version of super tenere....i dont like the new. it is more of a street bike...like v-strom. Anyway the big ON-off bikes are no good for this kind of jobs...too heavy among other things. that was my opinion...if you dont like it, feel free to kick my ass. After all i ride a kymco agility 125cc :-)
DarthVid Try doing 600+ miles in a day on your Kymco. These bikes did well for what they are!! The little Honda CRF had troubles on this terrain, too... ANY bike would!!
I don't understand why so many people on RU-vid are riding these gigantic bikes offroad at 10 mph when a relatively small bike (650) weighs 150-200 lbs less and will run 80 mph on the highway
+ImNotStalkingYou As a BMW R1150GS Adventure rider, I can answer your question. The big adventure bikes are used to get you to the off road destination when it is far away. I live in Minnesota, and like to travel to SD, WY, and MT for on and off road touring. The big bikes are not easily taken on single track roads, but with experience you can ride many single tracks if they are not too gnarly. For me, it might take me a day or two to get where I want to ride. Dirt bikes don't have the practical range or comfort necessary for highway travel long term and have more limited cargo capacity. If you are going to a local off road area, dirt bikes are great. The option other than a big ADV touring bike is using a trailer to haul your dirt bike. Some of use prefer to ride the bike all the way, and have the tent, sleeping bag, and all the basic camping gear go with us. It's all about what you want to do with the bike. .
+ImNotStalkingYou Mud and dense woods are extremely difficult on large adventure bikes, but some people want to challenge themselves in that manner. Here's an example of mine in a swampy road. I was alone and got in out after an hour of effort. i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg225/DARIVS_ARCHITECTVS/Stuck%20in%20mud%20poster_zps7xrkavxl.jpg
Exactly, and if you say the KLR 650, yeah is a perfect bike for this, but nothing compares with a big 1000-1200 cc engine pulling the almost equal heavyness
indianseibel123 Since I don't know you, I will not compare my skills with you when it comes to Enduro driving. The experience to this two guys can I see on the video, and as I said, they should first get better tyres, then they will learn how to drive.
