In this second part in our video diary of the recommissioning work that we're doing on our 1997 Yamaha XV535 Virago project bike, we remove the Rear Wheel, Swinging Arm, and Drive Shaft. We'll be cleaning everything up and, in paricular, we'll be getting the swinging arm re-painted as it's looking a little sorry for itself. We've not yet decided if we'll paint it ourselves or get it sand blasted and powder coated. Watch this space.

Is your workshop floor wood and if so how thick are the planks and what centre to centre are the support beams and what dimension underneath the flooring planks . Thinking of another option to a concrete floor here ! NIce bike , interesting video , hope to see more on the 535.

16" centre to centre, on 4x2 on concrete blocks. Floor is 3/4 ply. Feels more solid than a solid thing.

Hi Oscar. It took me a lot of searching to find out...so let me save you from that. It's YAM 40 Orange Cocktail. I believe that YAM 40 is the original Yamaha code - it's certainly the code that my paint supplier has provided. It's definitly Orange Cocktail. I've repainted the muguards. It currently looks a little light when compared to the tank but the top coat is looking a little dull and I need to polish it up to a shine. On a small test area, it did seem to darken it up a little. Of course, the colour match depends on where you get your paint from. I'll update in a few days as I'm polishing the new paintwork to get the mud guards re-fitted, which we'll show in our next video.

@@MotorcycleFettlers hi again. thanks for your fast answer. I will ask to a dealer for the colour you recomended. I found another colour really nice called ARANCIO BOREALIS LAMBORGHINI just in case I don´t find the orange cocktail.

If I wanted to also repaint the tank and side panels, I think I'd be going for that colour for sure. If you do paint it in that colour, be sure to share a photo!
