Thumbs up for old fashioned 1980s style clocks! Modern instrument panels are sealed units so if a single bulb goes you're knackered.

Now heres the fun bit. Try ordering said bulbs. Yeah and whilst you're trying to do that impossible job make sure you give yourself at least a years time out.

Cheers for watching, glad it was useful. Thankfully the YBR is pretty straightforward to work on and a great little bike to own/ride.

You should make a video where you show how to remove and reinstall the muffler from a Suzuki Address UK110 for a temporary "straight-piped" sound, and do a before-and-after exhaust comparison. I've always wanted to try removing mine just for fun, but I don't have a mechanical background and I'm scared of messing it up. Also, if you know of any ways to improve performance of the UK110 (acceleration, top speed, etc), please let us know. Keep up the great vids man!

Cheers mate! I’m not too fussed about a straight pipe. Not really my cup of tea, and probably not worth ruining a decent exhaust for, but it would be entertaining no doubt. I think you can improve the performance slightly by changing the weight of the rollers, and further still by changing the pulley and springs etc. What you gain in low end speed, you lose from the top. There’s not much genuine extra power to be had. Better to buy a different scooter if you want to go much faster. Still.. might be worth checking out the Address 110i Facebook group. There’s a chap called Travis (I think) who’s done some pretty serious modifications to his 👍 facebook.com/groups/1922116438012959/?ref=share

Our right hand indicator bulb has gone, is it the same procedure to remove the back of the housing and locate the correct bulb? Do you know which of the three bulb sizes it is, at all? Thanks.

Good vid. What do you reckon to these ybr 125s? Im thinking of buying one to play with. Easy to work on? as ill be buying a very cheap one, as im a tight git.
@MechitBetter
@MechitBetter 4 года назад
I really like mine. Even after passing full test a couple years ago and owning a 650, the 125 is still enjoyable to ride and easy to run. The early carb version (like mine) is obviously easier to tinker with if you want to be hands-on but the later fuel injection models have their advantages too. What kinda play do you have in mind for yours?

@@MechitBetter dunno yet, but your mate John put me onto 'great fun on small bikes' so although ive got my suzuki address, I fancy an early ybr with the twin shocks and carb to do up over the winter. I got a tdm 9 but im really getting into smaller bikes. At least you can do something with them rather than the triumph an harleys et al and wont cost a fortune.
@MechitBetter
@MechitBetter 4 года назад
@@heywhotsgoinon8286 ah right, I did look at the TDM as a potential 1st big bike. At the time it felt a bit too tall for me but liked the look. Smaller bikes are definitely more practical on a day to day basis. Hope you find a good candidate for your winter tinkering. Keep us posted 👍

Hello doubt you will reply I’ve got my cbt next week and have a 2010 carb model ybr and wondering where to get the same speedo as yours and what front plastics that cover the circle headlight called? Edit: To be honest also struggling where to find a fuel tank and plastics for the sides and back and idk what parts fit from different models I’m quite new to bikes.

Hi, thanks for getting in touch. Good news about doing your CBT next week. It's great to get out and about on a 125. Hopefully it's nice and sunny for you. As for your bike, there's not that much difference between the earlier model years but it sounds unusual to have a 2010 with a carb. I'm sure they changed to fuel injection about 2007. In any case it sounds like it's needing a bunch of cosmetic work; had it been crashed or you just wanting it to look smarter? A good place to start for exact part numbers with great parts diagrams is CMSNL.com You can then use the info to find options on UK sites or eBay. Another fairly reasonable and reliable site for more general parts and spares is WeMoto. Hopefully this at least gets you started but if there's anything else let us know. Good luck with the CBT ✌️

Will like to c how to replace the whole speedometer setup to install a new 1
@MechitBetter
@MechitBetter 4 года назад
Hi, Do you mean to change it for an identical one or with something different? If its to replace the whole unit (because its broken / damaged for example) it would be much the same but be methodical and make note of (or label) each of the wires before removal so you know where they go on new one. Plug and play really. If its for a more modern unit, you would have to check if its compatible with your bike. If its a digital guage, you might need different sensors etc for it to work. What did you have in mind?

I have a Sym XS125k 2008. Its a taiwan copy of this yamaha. The clocks are the same as here My tachometer stopped working. Together with fuel gauge and gear display. Everything is hooked up under the clocks. Any idea ?
@MechitBetter
@MechitBetter 4 года назад
Just so it's clear... Are you saying that nothing is working on the guages/display, no lights etc? Or just some things have stopped? If nothing is working then maybe it's something as simple as a blown fuse on the bike. Another options might be a bad earth/ground like a loose or corroded connection somewhere. Failing that, it might be the whole unit which has failed and needs replacing. I would start with the easiest options and work your way up. Hopefully this gives you some ideas. Let us know how you get on.

@@MechitBetter The speedometer is working. It is on the rope, also separately. The backlights of both clocks are working. The blinker, neutral, high beam icons are working. The fuse is intact, the grounding is clean. Overall, everything works. Only the tachometer, fuel gauge (identical) and gear indicator are disabled. And a brake light from the front brake. Together, it stopped working after a rainy day. I am asking because the clocks are the same as here. Do cables for these things go somewhere in one place? Maybe the cables are broken somewhere under the insulation ... I don't have a wiring diagram. I looked everywhere and found nothing. I am looking for tips from specialists ;)

The 4 studs on the back of mine are spinning forever and not coming off
@MechitBetter

Hey, thanks for watching. Sorry to hear you've had some trouble with it. Unfortunately I don't have this awesome little Yam anymore otherwise I'd dig into the dash again to see if I could help. Have you managed to figure out what the problem was?
@highlandrab19
@highlandrab19 9 месяцев назад
Got one out and it looks like they were all over tightened and have stripped the threads off the end. This means they are just spinning forever instead of unscrewing. The unfortunate thing is they still have enough grip they wont pull straight off and i dont want to damage the gauges as they work fine other than a few dead bulbs

Do you have any link to where i can get the bulbs cause i cant find anything on ebay i need one for the indicator Light
@MechitBetter
@MechitBetter 4 года назад
Unfortunately I honestly can't remember where I got them from. I had a little look and yeah, they really don't seem to be the easiest thing to find. According to online parts diagrams the bulbs for the warning lights in the dash/cluster appear to be discontinued...? However, they have the following specs: 12v 3w T6.5 Even with this info, options are a struggle. What I would recommend is trying one of the T10 bulbs that are already in the other parts of the cluster; such as the ones for the 2 big guages above the warning lights, just to check fitment size. If the T10 fits, there are a bunch of options out there for the 3w (or similar) replacement bulbs. Otherwise, a phone call to a local motorbike workshop/garage or perhaps a Yamaha dealership might point you in the right direction. Oddly it seems Euro Car Parts have stock of motorbike dash bulbs which could be a cheaper option than a main dealer, if they're the correct ones. Sorry I couldn't find/provide a direct link to the exact thing. Let me know how you get on incase I need another myself. Cheers.

@@MechitBetter thanx for replying mate I actually found on eBay something it says: YAMAHA Bulb (12v-1.7w T6.5), 5JS-H3517-00 OEM XF50 XC115 YW125 I am not sure if that's the correct size for that bulb. I'll take it off and check it first.
