Done seen 3 or 4 of these shootouts and so far the Aprilia has won, the R1 has won, the BMW has won, and the CBR has won. Basically, you can’t go wrong with any of these. Find one that you like and that’s the end of it. Happy riding.

its really the absolute first time i hear someone say that is hard to adjust the traction control in the aprilia, its had those 2 paddles perfectly placed for your left index and thumb (thumb +1 index -1) since 2010, on the fly, no need to change ride modes or enter any menu, if you feel slippiness you press your thumb, if you feel the tc too early you press with your index. easiest fastest TC controls EVER

Base model shootout....
7 лет назад
CBRboy1717 GSX-RR is cheaper than others full model, no doubt that for the price and performance (the engine it's absolutely top notch) the Gixxer is the bike of 2017. Regarding vibration, it has equal or less than S1000RR, the price to pay for a very high Rev engine with just one counter balancer. (Like almost all RR bikes from 1986 to 2012, nothing to worry about)

Have the gsxr 1000r ive ridden all these bikes except the honda before i purchased. Including s1000rr. Only one that was really tugging at my heart was the aprilia. I got the suzuki because My previous bike was a 750 and i felt i would have better reliability with it. Besides the aprilia i think its the best of the bunch.

Not fair for Yamaha, why did not tested the R1M? Not fair for Aprilia, why did not tested the RSV4 RF? Not fair for Honda, why did not tested the RC213V-S? The RC would destroy all of these bikes. In conclusion, quit whining. Suzuki is lucky their motorcycle was even featured with that humpback whale ass looking shike.

Honda is the most underrated brand for sportbikes they are everything you need but they aren't as exciting as R1's and RSV4's,but 99% of the people riding aren't pushing these bikes to their absolute limits anyways. I'd say the CBR is the makes the most sense for most street riders because the ergos are better for the street every Honda I have ridden is super confidence inspiring and they are super reliable.

I really don't think it matters too much which bike you ride as long as you like what you see. For me looks and Finnish are a must, equally, the way she rides, power doesn't really mean much on the road for me, 200hp is by far more than I can ride flat out. When I turn back to look, I have to see blue.

I want the cbr1000rr sp badly. Suppose it's a bit down on power compared to the other liter bikes but its refinement and build quality is off the charts. Rumor has it next year there will be an increase in power to over 200 hp and it will clearly be the bike to beat. In any case I agree with M. Davis in that very few riders can actually use all that power anyway. Amazing machine as is.

I was one of the first ones to have the r1 having placed my order in late 2014. And to this day, with 20,000 miles on clock, it still beats everything out there. Once I hit that second gear, I’m gone! I’ve trounced the new zx10r’s, s1000rr’s, and pre 2017 liter bikes so readily. The r1 is where it’s at!

How about a stress test on the brakes and suspension in the 2018 shoot oiut? Also how sensitive are the bikes braking performance to suspension set-up (sag)? - I think the R1's braking performance is the most sensitive to proper sag settings

Having pushed both the R1 and the RSV hard around multiple tracks..The RSV is a better bike there..and on the street. The RSV ‘s front end steering feel is neutral and effortless..not so on the R1. That said ..the R1 is an awesome bike with a wicked motor, faultless gear clicks and style The RSV is the best street/track race rep ever made..their Tuono is the best all around street bike..go get one...and don’t be swayed by the hosts at the end of this video..they know better
@sk2283
@sk2283 5 лет назад
I have an RSV4 and an R1M and agree, the RSV4 is 'out the crate' an awesome package, a few clicks and you are done. The R1 has cost a FORTUNE to try and get sorted for road and track, suspension upgrades, engine mapping, brake upgrades. You cannot beat the RSV4, sorted stable handling & superb brakes, and the 2017 engine is a masterpiece.

I bought an 2016 RSV4 RF last summer. I've been riding since I was six ('76). I've owned CBRs, GSX-Rs, Ducatis, Yamahas, and ZX-7s..... pretty much bikes from every major manufacturer with the exception of BMW, Triumph, and MV Agusta. I have to say, the RSV4 RF is by far the most incredible bike I've owned. It brings with it the Italian styling and sound, but provides smoothness and reliability of the Japanese bikes. I accept that you have declared the R1 as the best, but I've owned many Japanese bikes, and within a year or two I'm bored with them. The bike I owned before the Aprilia was a Ducati 999 which I had since new in 2003..........over a decade. I never grew tired of it, it just became tired amongst the newest bikes, so it was time to go. Italian bikes bring something to the table that the Japanese bikes can't. Which bike will you want in your garage after a couple of years? The Aprilia....... Also, the sound of that V4, even with stock exhaust.............epic. It's the only sport bike I've owned that doesn't need an aftermarket exhaust. You don't need to touch it.
@sk2283
@sk2283 5 лет назад
I agree with that ! I have hd 3 RSV4's and currently have a 2017, its true ALL the japanese bikes you have to upgrade brakes or suspension or exhaust etc. the RSV4 is the complete package out of the showroom, awesome bike.

I agree completely r1! I've had ducatis, R1's , rsv4 , and a car 1000rr and the r1 was my favorite bike , but now I jsut bought the new 2017 Yamaha FZ10 (the naked r1 ) supernaked and it is the most fun I've ever had on a bike, has the same cross plane crank 998 cc motor same frame, swingarm, brakes, electronics as the r1 it truley is a supernaked r1 regardless of how Yamaha doesn't like that comparison. Best part is it was RE-tuned for a broad power curve, low and midrange power is insane, it power wheelies by accident in any gear but 6th which u can still get it up but needs the clutch, hat power wth the factory larger rear sprocket makes it anninsane wheelie hooligan, cruise control and upright bars makes it long distance friendly, best of all thonis that rsv4 sound that the crass plane crank r1 motor makes, I ripped the cat out and its closest to a moto GP bike I've ever heard! If u haven't rode one go demo one! It's easy to see why the r1 is still at #1 in so many comparisons, the fz10 jsut reinforces that. Love the video and waiting for a supernaked comparison soon!? New Tuono 1100, FZ10, s1000R , superduke, lets see it guys! Sales for supernakeds for 2016 DOUBLED the decreasing superbikes sales , it's a new trend where u can get the same power (except for Honda, Suzuki, and Kawasaki ) as a superbikes but do it comfortable with crusidecontrol and non back breaking riding position. I love superbikes but as someone with a back injury , supernakeds are great for those that have a hard time . Please give us supernakeds a new comparison!

ahmad khan they all seem to run a bit warmer than they did years ago and this is from the engines being pushed harder and harder in performance. They are really really fast. I always like to upgrade my cooling system with a secondary lower radiator or by replacing the stock rad with a larger one.

Well, it is like you said, we all have our own opinion. I will remind you because it wasn't stated, it is all about the rider. AMA, referencing the R1 as the best. Well, the gixxer is killing it and the ZX10R is right behind(not even in this test). Aprilia, is getting crushed by all the other bikes except for the Honda. So, with all of that and many more in mind, you may have your opinion.

First things first, this review is FANTASTIC!!!! It draws you in from start to finish! I noticed the bikes were updates for 2017 hence only four brands are represented. But in any other scenario the rulers of the jungle are in addition to the four, Zx10rr, panigale V4, and S1000rr! Give us this review!!

maybe Honda is going for the power you actually need and not the power you want, to have more miles per gallon? they prob know that your going to use it for the street and not formula 1 lol. Thus in the long run, you be glad you had a honda.

Thanks to all the real motorcycle riders who feel the way I do! I own a 2014 14R I ride to work and for pleasure. One of my riding buddies owns a BMW 1000rr which is by far the best all around sport bike you can buy! The other guy's I ride with own these race replicas, they don't ride out of NYC cause they would need to see a back doctor after 75 miles of real riding! Myself and my friend with bmw go from state to state all the time! Plus cycle worlds test are bias!!! Where was the zx10rr, H2, bmw,1299,the MV?

vernon feurtado well the bimmer is a heavily update version of a k51000 and they took it to next level from there so yeah it makes sense to be the best in matters of comfort aspect. R1 and aprilia are near in matters of crazy factor and the new gixxer rocks em all hard this year but i am with you on the bmw RR feeling. Perhaps the faster with the new ducati v4 on the street where it matters the most and is basically a do it all superbike with a bit hypertour characteristics. Is the only bike i believe is worth upgrading after i decide to sell my 10yr ownership old lady 65k war😂 miles k61000

The amount of criticism from some of the hosts with non tangible opinions are killing me... Notable mentions: Fit and finish is an issue on the GSXR? Ok, like what? NOPE, no examples or close ups of issues. Oh the Suzuki didnt take the platform far enough into a new model, how? Bullshit about "special touch". Oh, I'm sorry it didnt tickle you like your boyfriend does.

Great shootout. Would have been nice w/ZX and BMW, but such is life. Looks like you can’t really go wrong with any of these. My only gripe: I’m old, and freaking hate electronics. In cars, in bikes, in almost anything. What I found interesting... one of the reviewers said that it feels like you sit inside the Gixxer and not on top. I think this new ergo started in the K4 models when the seat height was significantly lowered. My old K2 GSX-R750 has the feeling of riding on top, as opposed to inside. Suzuki wins with the ugliest garbage can tail pipe. What the hell is with that thing? Can you use it to fill helium balloons on birthdays?

I've been watching these types of bike videos just to decide which 3 I would need to try out before purchasing my next bike in the up and coming. But my biggest question. Why Don't I see more videos with all these bikes PLUS the Agusta R4 RR? That bike looks and seems like a beast! Just a question I've had for the last 2 weeks since discovering the bike.

@skuzzyj

JD Nasty because MV Agusta has like 12 dealers in North America and _more likely than not_ doesn't do much for press bikes. *I googled it. MV has 33 dealers in the US. People bitch about Aprilia's lack of dealer network but it's strong as hell by comparison and I can guarantee you will have fewer issues with one than an MV. I'd still kill for a Brutale Dragster, though.
@JDNasty

Thanks for commenting back man. I still would love to see an all around comparison with the top superbikes against the R4 RR. That bike has every look I'm going after and the fact that they are rare is a plus! I hate seeing the same top 4 bikes. Main reason why I already confirmed my F4 RR in 2018. But I would drop everything if the R4 RR has decent reviews. I understand the lack of dealers doesn't mean the bike doesn't deserve a Review lol.

All this comments about street riding should be commute and traffic, you dont buy a SuperBike to ride it in traffic, yet if you ever find yourself in traffic it doesn't matter if its crap because you obviously didn't buy it for that, its just a transition you have to bare with in order get to the moments where you are going to enjoy it doing what it does. It would be kinda like reviewing a surfboard for how easy it is to transport and carry outside of the water. YET, if you go out and ride your "Street Test" on perfect roads where the bikes feel the same as on a track then there is no point, street bikes even super sport bikes need to be prepared for uneven asphalt, imperfections, etc. in essence real streets and roads. So maybe sitting in traffic is not necessary, but we definitely need to see more real street challenges on a "street test" thats for sure
@PineTreePal
@PineTreePal 7 лет назад
Fuck yeah, this was a dope review. I'm really torn between the R1 base and the R1S. The R1S I feel like would be kinder to me (the more street oriented commuter) than the regular R1. But the R1 comes in this bitchin black color.

I've tried them all (track & road) and for road use: 1- CBR, 2- GSXR, 3- RSV4. 4- R1. For track use: 1- RSV4. 2- R1, 3- GSXR, 4- CBR. Ps. I cannot use the full potentiel of any of these bikes! Too much for me. lollllll
