YAMI RPG Editor First Impressions and Tutorial 

It's definitely a different type of an engine and one I can use with no problems and I have already starting to test and use to do some thing I wanted for some time now with all of my own assets and I have to say most of them are not small in any way, most of the characters are 512x512 and fully animated. Trees, plants ,grass and background objects were originally made in 3D and also animated as such then I rendered them all as animated sprites and scenes and if all goes the way it's supposed to I might up load a video of the everything I have done in the first week of getting the software, So in other words I have no complains YAMI RPG Editor is some thing I was actually waiting for and I knew exactly what I was going to get for my money.😃🤓👍

I've been using this for a week or so and I'm completely in love with what it can do right out of the box. My only lament is that there doesn't seem to be much love for it in the tutorial making crowd. I really hope somebody out there decides to make some tutorials that cover all the basics for us non-programmer types.

I'm just commenting because your videos and lvl up's has helped me out so much with rmmz. My zero level of experience in making games has been vastly improved. Thank you for the hard work.

I like it, RPG Maker feels archaic to me in some aspects, such as the tiling system. The tiling system in YAMI looks great. Placing UI also looks really good. YAMI actually looks more straightforward to me from what I've seen so far. It's a shame that it doesn't support traditional RPG styles like RPG Maker does, else it could be a valid alternative. There are already great engines capable of making ARPG/Tower defense such as Game Maker, Unity, Unreal.. so it's like you might as well use those. Very niche, as you said

Looks exactly like Unity which I really like and seems to have the easy to use system like RPG Maker. Might have to check this one out.

As far as making an ARPG game. This looks like it would make things far easier, than using Game Maker Studio(GMS). I personally use Construct 3. Originally got started with RPG Maker 95 back in the day. Helped out with a translation of RPG Maker 2003 as well. Before the official translation finally released years later. I have the newer RPG Maker versions, but haven't started any projects in them. But, do have an RPG planned. I've been looking into Bakin, and just grabbed SGB & Bakin during the Winter sale. I appreciate watching your content. This video showed me much more about Yami, compared to the trailer on Steam.

Looks interesting. Someone could make a RWBY fan game with this as an Action RPG works perfectly. Though I prefer turn-based RPG. I like the RPG Maker but I wish it kept the XP mapping and expand on it and MZ sort of brings it back. Never used Unity so I’d be a little lost.

Drifty I’ve been following you since the rpg maker mv days. Your videos are easiest to understand. With that in mind. Could you please make more Yami videos? Also you stated that you used a parallax for the background but your back isn’t scrolling and your character can walk freely around the map. Please explain more about scenes/backgrounds.

😊Drifty also. In Rpg Maker you can show pictures and Videos. I noticed that Yami has a video option but it’s confusing as to how to use it. In the near future could you please elaborate on the functions and possibilities of these options?

I know it might be a little out of the box but how difficult do you think it would be to make a card game with this? Since it would be mostly navigating UI, placing flat objects and some animations for attacking, defeating cards ect

Is there any possibility of creating a roguelite style game? Like a twin stick shooter on Yami? I received an email that my GameMaker Studio 2 lifetime membership has expired & have no engine to work with at the moment.

Drifty could you do a video about Switches ( day and night ) and cutscenes. I got the video to play finally but I have no idea how to create a cutscene like you would in RPG Maker. Please help.😅
