I think because she knew she wasn't going to win the gold she performed this with no pressure at all. And that's why i believe this is one of best performances of all time, i mean she was just flowing! It was perfection.

Even if she didn't hit 4/4 that day, she'll always be remembered as one of the best of the sport!! We miss your grace and precision Yana❤️

She laughs and cries at the same time because she knows that she was great, that she was the best, but her mistake has condemned her, so she must assume that reality, that will never win the Olympic gold but has left a demonstration for the story. She will never be forgotten.

Averina sisters and ROC as well should take a look into Kudryavtseva and Mamun and see what changed between 2016 and 2021. Yana and Margarita were further away much more elegant and dynamic and this obviously reflects on the scores.

Her smile at the end is priceless. She's just amazing and her grace and elegance are just in another level.

Watching this routine knowing the story behind it always gives me chills

7 years later, and I'm still coming back to this routine. The choreography of this routine is superb. Every step matches the music, and is seamlessly integrated into the changes in tempo, key and rhythm. When I rewind to certain parts of the routine, I have to start it over, because I see just how cleverly integrated it is into the entire piece. Simply brilliant. And clearly, it took them all year to get to this point. If you watch previous iterations of this routine, it didn't work for me like it did here. Absolutely incredible.

Most routines looks plain and it's just like they are moving the apparatus (I know that's what they are supposed to do) but yanas work is hypnotic it's ethereal and frankly I haven't found anyone who can replace her yet..

She did not let previous events affect her performance in the last category, and that is very admirable. It also proves that she has a very strong psychological will, as most successful gymnasts do.

She will be always remembered as the most elegant gymnast! I miss her so much 😭♥️

I personally like silver jewelry more than gold. Might be different with medals, but I honestly think she looked like a champion while performing and while standing on the podium. She was the spotlight and she so deserved it. 👑🥈

Яна Кудрявцева - великолепная, любимая спортсменка! Нелепая случайность не позволила занять 1 место. Маргарита и Яна обе необыкновенеые! Я считаю, что надо разыгрывать медали в каждом виде, ведь в спортивной гимнастике отдельно соревнуются на бревне, прыжке, вольных упражнениях. Почему в таком красивом и сложном спорте, как художественная гимнастика только многоборье? И зачем нужна квалификация? Спортсменки все самые лучшие, сильные и участвуют в отборочных соревноааниях. Ведь Яна на квалификации выступила отлично. Удачи и здоровья всем спортсменам! Будем вспоминать и любоваться выступлениями наших любимых гимнасток!

To think that she messed up big time, and Rita just won over some tenths of points, says a lot about Yana's performance. Yes, she didn't get the Gold, but she's still a winner.

More grace and precision than M.Mamun, she's as graceful as classical dancer with dynamic movements, that's why the public like this sport when it's practice like that. The time of Amina Zaripova was more elegant with those incredible women such as E.Vitrichichenko, E.Serebryanskaïa, E.Serrano. Now, when we see for example the french E.Moustafaeva, there's no grace. GR is not artistic gymnastic ; they change this sport and not for the best.

This was just an absolutely gorgeous routine. While I liked Yana more in 2013-2014, I think that she wouldn't have made it on my favorite gymnasts list if it weren't for that drop in her clubs. In the years 2015-2016, I started liking Rita more than Yana. I felt like Yana didn't show much emotion in those years, but in the Olympics, she totally proved me wrong. I always admired the way she dealt with her clubs routine. She didn't make excuses for herself, admitted that she should've practiced that difficulty more, and went out on the carpet to preform one of the greatest performances of her life. Yana didn't let that drop hinder her more. And she knew that she was proud to go home with a silver medal. That's the spirit of an athlete, right there.
