If it was a one time thing, it wouldn't be as bad, but this combined with history of doing other things that might normally seem socially irresponsible by themselves, make it reasonable to assume malicious intent. His actions throughout the years definitely hint towards malicious behavior.

Having actually known Alex way back in the EvaXephon days... It really never ceases to amaze me how someone so shitty accrued so much popularity, and continues to pop up on the radar. And yes, he is a very stunted individual - he alienated a lot of people back then, and made inappropriate comments without understanding why they were inappropriate until we explained it to him.
This is why intervention, proper guidance/life skills support and therapy are so critical to people on the spectrum, especially the ones that fly under the radar until their older years - when these patterns of behaviour aren't adequately addressed and effective strategies of being able to self-identify, respond to and correct more troublesome actions aren't taught, they manifest throughout later life in behaviours that on the surface are predatory but in reality are the result of a broad social ignorance, poor boundaries, lack of innate understanding of why things are wrong, and are inherently inappropriate rather than done with genuine malice or ill intent

He never sent or received explicit pictures, nor did he explicitly offer or ask for them. Furthermore, the age of consent in 34 states is 16, which means that "an individual can legally consent to sexual intercourse under any circumstances". (This of course does not apply to explicit images) People need to start distinguishing between morally wrong and criminal behavior. Society can disapprove of behavior even if it's not criminal, and that's fine and often even beneficial. But we still need to recognize that something is not criminal and leave it at that.

In the video, yeah, but in comments on his apology blog post you can see that comments disparaging the girl are approved. The comment section on his blog is moderated, yet anything asking for context about things he said (even when you ask super nicely) don't get approved and are instead deleted.

The video also showed DMs indicating that she was blackmailed by YanDevs friend, but those are too short and out of context to be 100% proof
Back in 2020 I was in his discord server (I'm still in it but haven't checked in since then) and when I tell you he would spend HOURS talking to people on the discord. The environment there was really strange, I'm pretty sure most of us were minor girls. Including myself. Everything was about worshipping him. That's most of what was talked about. I hardly interacted but once I got a direct response from Yandev when I edited one of his channel stickers. Ofc there was people talking about the game, characters, fanart, etc. But it mostly felt like a weird online harem.

Personally I find it rather sad that, because of all these pervs, a friendship between and adult and a teenager/child is immediately considered suspicious by default (especially when the adult is a man). Genuine friendship between generations could actually have some great benefits, both for understanding each other's generational viewpoints but also as a tool for educating children with the wisdom of adults (See Chef and the children from South Park) and to strengthen the bonds between families in a community.
I wish society was more with this mindset. It used to be a much more mainstream thing when I was growing up. I was friends with people in their 20's under supervision and it really shaped me to who I am today.
This ^^ my friend group consists of different age groups and when I was 22, I had a friend who was 16 and we managed to talk her out of dating a 30 year old man because she listened to us whom she considered more mature. It also helps that our friend group are mixed sexes so when we talk about serious things, we have the perspective of those in our 20's, some in 25's and then early 30's, men and women (and trans). We used to have a Grandmother of our group (54) but she passed away :(.

*LONG COMMENT*: A lot of people in these comments seem to think that grooming is just the act of engaging in sexually charged conversation with a minor. Speaking from the perspective of someone who was groomed, that's not how that happens. Grooming starts as being just friends. It's almost never sexual at first. It's good advice, and deep conversation, and emotional support that slowly evolves into conversations about your relationships, inappropriate jokes, compliments about how mature and cute you are. When you reach that phase of the conversation, where an adult is calling you cute and telling you how much smarter you are than kids your age, they will continue to gently test your boundaries, and try to bring you around to the idea that ages don't matter much. This adult will have had your back when your parents make you feel shitty, and so you'll trust them when they ask you to keep your friendship a secret. Their jokes will eventually stop being jokes. They will flirt with you and you'll be okay with it because you are under the assumption that they care about you and would never hurt you. Flirting becomes sexting, and planning to meet up... And even if it scares you, or you get the sense that something is wrong, you'll be in so deep that you're afraid to get the adult (or yourself) into trouble. A kid is incredibly lucky if they can spot a red flag and get away before any damage is done. A lot of the time they aren't though.

Dropping the ball when it came to ghosting TinyBuild, who would've helped speed up development immensely. C. And more recently, getting into such a serious controversy due to his own lack of restraint that most of the support and volunteer work the game had garnered over the past several years is almost gone. I'm not gonna be thankful towards a game that lost my and most people's interest past 2018-2019, nor am I gonna be thankful towards a guy that has a history of being unpleasant, weird, and irresponsible. If it was a couple years back, maybe I would've called YanSim a successful game. But after everything? Nah, now it's just bungled up mess of fumbled potential.
Every time YanDev's name came up, I am once again reminded this man is really making an anime Yandere game his life's work... That take his actual entire life to finish.
guys, he didn't make a "good apology" video if the bar for a good apology is to not make a song with a ukulele. All I saw in that video was him making excuses and saying that the victim was taught to "manipulate him" into saying predatory things. Didn't you all notice the number of times he would say "No this didn't happen" or ""Apparently" or really just making himself sound like the victim in this??
@@cats9994 That's true in SOME cases but it's not the same in grooming cases. In this case, one party is clearly an adult while the other is a minor. People's minds don't fully develop until they're 25 and so the victim in this case is way below that age while Alex is way beyond it. There's no way for Alex to be the victim in this case. Don't give that man a pass he already know what he did was wrong.

He just "Thanos snapped them" in video editing form after saying "they're not true". Yes, I'm aware that Discord messages are easy to fake. But he could've show his Discord number ID (I think that's what it's called?) and his chat history to prove he didn't say that. The letter of apology was edited by Jelly, with his input. As in, he coached her to write what *he* wanted her to say. His explanation of the context behind *him (a 35 year old grown @ss man) discussing OnlyFans with a 16 year old* would not go well if law enforcement got those messages. *He didn't prove he wasn't a creep.* And saying 'sorry' won't erase what he did to Jelly, nor what he's let his own audience do to her (attack her in the comments). Him curating the comment section (and privating the video) doesn't do him any favors.

YandereDev showcases the problem of having a far too ambitious project. Advanced core features are great, they just take 10x longer than expected, and will delay your game by years if you are too focused on shoving in as much advanced logic as possible. He treats developing his game like a company's sales department, promising difficult features while not understanding the timeframe it takes to pull off said features. Half-Life 3 will come out long before YandereDev finishes his game. This really should be a lesson to any new gamedev, to look at a game like YandereSimulator, and do the EXACT OPPOSITE of what the dev has done.
The game isn't even that ambitious for the amount of the time he's been "developing" the game. The codebase is a jumbled mess because he's an amateur who refuses to make changes when given advice by more experienced people.

He's literally still manipulating the victim, she had already cut ties with him until yansim's music compositor put them in contact again recently, in fact that document shown in the video was co-written by Alex.
@@Rin_skiii On the victim statement, which he coached the victim on, he purposefully made it sound like she started it first and that it was her fault explicitly. Also he was literally working with the third party to coach the girl and get other videos on himself to get copyright striked
Normally, when I learn that someone has put out an apology video, I don't know what they did wrong, and I have to look into things to find out what they have to apologize for. This time, I already know of a multitude of things that YandereDev has done wrong, and I have to look into things to find out _which_ misdeed he's apologizing for.
I went to the comment section on his video and felt like I was going insane because it with nothing but support and people making jokes about how his apology was the first this year. Not a single negative comment. At first I just thought his fans were drowning about the genuine criticism until I sorted by newest first, once again not a single negative comment. He’s filtering his comments and that tells me how guilty he truly is.
@@subarashiikylox it dosent matter how good an apology is, there’s always going to be people that don’t forgive you. If you go to a reupload of the video you’ll see people’s true thoughts. His apology isn’t even good, he spends most of it blaming the victim for his own actions.
