Thanks so much for saying so! I really appreciate it! I'm trying my best to put my own spin on these candle reviews. Thanks for your support, for commenting and for watching! :)
I have Mediterranean Breeze and Honey Lavender Gelato coming and I am so excited to see it I get the notes you experience. This is so fun. It is like a mystery that we are trying to solve. Such a unique delivery in reviewing candles. -Ann Mac

ohhhh yummmmm! I am all over the Mediterranean Breeze and French Countryside candles! those sound right up my alley. Thank you so much for introducing us to these new scents. I am pretty sure I have mentioned this before, but I have never burned a Yankee Candle so I am planning on going in and exploring these. I am so excited for this new year and all your plans! your new camera equipment, new places, lots of learning! I also can't wait to see you review the products you have been sent! If I come across an interesting candle, I will be sure to send it your way! Happiest New Year!!
Rebekah Johnson ... Not sure how I missed this moment... just stumbled across it now. :) Yes, I would have guess that Mediterranean Breeze and French Countryside would've been your favs out of this list (def not Cafe al Fresco). I'm keeping busy; writing, developing, researching and of course, filming. We'll hopefully start to see a more consistent flow of posts staring in the coming week. Happiest of New Years to you as well! Talk soon :)
Great analysis as always! I'm really excited about this collection, I think it is very well executed as you said. My favorite is the cafe al fresco, but the honey lavender gelato is a close second. I get a distinct berry note from that one, but a creamy one, almost like a berry gogurt? Overall I'm pleased with the collection! I hope you have an excellent Christmas! Looking forward to 2017 :)
Thanks, Anthony. I'm inclined to agree with you; the Cafe al Fresco and the HLG are my personal picks of this collection. I heard from a reputable source that YC is going to introduce a "lemon" scent to this line very soon. Some of my guesses: Limoncello (Italian), Lemon Granita (Sicilian), Lemon Tart (French). Berry Gogurt!.. Totally amazing descriptor/reference!.. and spot on. After I recorded this video I thought of Concord Grape... not like sweetened Welches grape juice, rather the underripe tart berry straight from the vine. Hope you're having an excellent holiday season as well. As always, thanks for commenting and watching! Talk soon :)
Yes! I can totally get the welches great reference! The lemon scent that you are talking about is going to be called Sicilian Lemon. It is actually already popping up at outlets, I saw it at my local one. I also believe Sicilian Lemon is the name of a UK candle, which I just assumed to be the UK version of the Meyer Lemon we have in the states, but who knows! Thanks for getting back to me, and Happy New Year!
argitis12 Paras ... This comment is better than an exceptional cup of morning coffee! Thank you for starting my day off with a huge smile. I'll keep doing my best as long as you keep watching 😉. Have a great end of the week!
Enjoyed your description of the scents. I really, really hope these candles finding their way over the ocean and being avaiable here in good old germany. Did you ever made videos about the world journey candles? or plan to do? I'd like to see your description of those 😊 Have a good day! Looking forward to see more of your gorgeous videos ...
Thanks, I'm so glad you enjoyed :) Hope these find their way to Germany for you. I haven't made a World Journey video yet, but I pick them up whenever I find one. One day soon I'll film a segment on them :) As always thanks for commenting and for watching!! :)
You peaked my interest with the Cafe Al fresco. I love hazelnut and French vanilla coffee. I came over from Shawn at Hearth and Soul. Great descriptions! 👌🏻👃🏻
Thanks, Carey! Yes, Cafe al Fresco is pretty darn delicious! Shawn has always been a big supporter of my channel, and I'm incredibly grateful that he's pointed some amazing viewers in my direction. Thanks for watching. I hope you stop by again! Happy New Year!! :)
Nice HiFi here! ;-) Thanks for doing this, Shane. Had heard about these, but just in passing. So far, my top choices would be Honey Lavender Gelato (makes my mouth water, just to think of real gelato!) & the Al Fresco one. I do wish it was a heavier on the honey part, but imagine that's hard to do in wax - or maybe fragrance, in general? I felt like I somehow missed part of Christmas too. Not sure why. Wasn't the greatest for us, but we still have a lot to be thankful for. Think it's just hard when you've lost a lot of family,*relatively* ypung; & pobably, not having kids of our own doesn't help. Anyway, please do post as much footage as you can? I'm sure none of us will complain if it's BC or AC... Before Christmas or After Christmas! Take care, out there! 😉
I love that HiFi! I wish I could take it with me on my travels. It's pushing 35 years and it still rings like a bell. I was pleased with these 4 candles. My nose gravitates toward the HLG... very well balanced. The CAF is fantastic too, I only wish YC would be a little more daring with the strength of the coffee aroma in these cafe themed candles. When I first heard that there was going to be a "coffee" themed scent included in a Mediterranean collection, I was hoping for an Italian Espresso concept. Not this time. Either way, it's still an excellent execution and a very delicious scent. Sorry to hear that your Christmas got partially compromised. Worries, stress, sadness and regret of day to day life certainly hamper my holiday spirit every so often. I too, have a lot to be thankful for, so I always try extra hard to focus on the positives during those blue times. I hope 2017 treats you much better! Yep, a bit more holiday New England stuff before I ring in the new year. I just have to edit edit edit. Have a great week! Talk soon! :)
CareGwk ... Great question! And definitely the right place to ask 😁. I truly believe you won't be disappointed with Kringle Candle's ESPRESSO CREMA. Incredible scent, incredible company, and always incredible consistency of fragrance. Thanks for asking!!
while I was at Yankee Candle for the sas I felled in love with Cafe Al Fresco just wanting for the spring sale to start next week to use my coupon to get a few
+Crystal Anderson ... I hear you. Delicious scent. Just curious; did you happen to smell the Spiced White Cocoa (online exclusive) this year? If not, you may want to check it out. Obviously no coffee, but thematically, kindred candles (in my humble opinion). Thanks for commenting and for watching, Crystal !!!!
+The Candle Enthusiast no sir I haven't smell spiced white cocoa really this sas was my first time buying anything from Yankee because bath. and body works had no candles I wanted at sas for a good price
+Crystal Anderson ... Oh cool. Well, if you're interested in seeing my analysis, it's included in my video entitled " Yankee Candle Village - Flagship Store - 2016 Christmas Analyses / Reviews " . I'd post link, but we can't do that ;)
MickieFan226 ... editing the review now... fell behind a bit 😓. Also, Tahitian Nights, Tuscan Vineyard and Sicilian Lemon... phew. So many candles, so little time 😁. Thanks again!!!! And thanks for the kind words ☺️

RESICIARAN ... I appreciate the kindness. I'm enjoying what I'm doing here on youtube immensely. Let's start with a thousand... then we'll work on that million ;) Thanks for your support, for commenting and for watching!
How did you get all this vocabulary for identifying and describing scents? What's your educational background and how did your upbringing support your olfactory passion
The easy part of this question to answer is that I studied at The Culinary Institute of America (with a concentration in wine), and in that environment, aroma plays such a key role in your everyday life. You learn very quick to identify even the most minute aromatic elements. The vocabulary is built one brick at a time. Since then, I've taken my Court of Master Sommeliers exams (certified level). The training for these exams gets a bit extreme (to put it lightly). The harder part of that question is explaining why I respond to aroma so passionately and emotionally. I've always been fascinated with the olfactory sense. There must be some crossed wires in my brain that makes me emote so dramatically when I discover aroma. Although I'd like to admit that my upbringing played a role in my passion, my brothers don't seem to have the same attraction to aroma... at least not to the same extent. Thanks for asking this question! :)
:D I was wondering how your videos would change with the end of the holidays lol How long did it take you to train your brain and nose to pick up such nuisance scents? I'm excited for spring!
The holidays were incredibly fun, but it'll be very refreshening to have the creative freedom to extend beyond the walls of the Halloween and Christmas. 2017 is going to be really fun ;) How long to train the nose? Good question. I've always been fascinated with aroma. The analytical side of describing scents started for me in culinary school. I've seen people train their noses pretty quick, but I believe the speed you learn is all in the method in which you train....... If I close my eyes and try to imagine the smell of a tomato, it's arguably impossible (I don't believe our brains can do that voluntarily). But to close my eyes and visualize a tomato, that's very easy. It's important to remember that our other senses play a key role in remembering and recalling aroma (especially sight). When I smell a perfume, wine, candle etc... many images flash through my mind. For me, discovering the smell is to discover the internal image. If we don't catalog an aroma with an image, a feeling, a memory, our brains will never be able to recall a smell (again, my opinion). With all of that said, I am by no means an authority on neurological science. As always, thanks!! :)
