Having built a very basic one l think that gives me an insight into the many hours and multiple skills needed to build this instrument to such a high standard. Congratulations!
I like the exposed interior. I volunteer at a museum that has a large electrically-powered orchestrian. It is self-rewinding and restarts automatically, using paper reels like this (we have about 100 reels). It works great and is quite loud. It's a pleasure to show off.
At the museum where I volunteer, we have an orchestrian (a large automatic organ like this). We use it to call visitors to come see a particular presentation that we run once a day. Sometimes I've had to stop the orchestrian in the middle of its tune to start the presentation, and the music just sort of slows down and peters out sadly. It always gets a chuckle from guests. X)
Hurrah! What a pleasant sound! The melody played by barrel organ is pleasant and enjoyable! Some antique mechanical clocks played melodies for each hour on built in barrel organ just before or soon after striking the hours on bell or gong. Nowadays these types of barrel organ and pipe-organ clocks are electronically imitated by some quartz clocks because they contains electronically recorded and programmed circuit board of sound chips connected to speaker. But they can't beat the real barrel organ and pipe-organ clocks.
@@daffers2345 Real barrel organs are always real one. mechanical musical clocks with real barrel organ are always superiormost in sound than electronic imitation of the same in quartz clocks which are cheap in price and manufactured for poor people who wants to enjoy the barrel organ music at every hour. Rich people can buy musical clocks with real barrel organ if they want to enjoy the barrel organ music. Why shall the rich misers buy the quartz musical clocks? They can buy mechanical clocks with real barrel organs and avoid the quartz counterparts if they are rich enough to buy these types of real barrel organs and pipe-organ clocks.
After watching this video, I really want to make one myself! I am already a fan of music boxes, street organs and other similar instruments. It would be amazing if azayaruznu did a tutorial on how to make one!
It beautiful, but the bellows need to have solid ribs made of some kind of carboard or carton inside, it does not keep a steady wind pressure and is very hearable.
