Padres knew they couldn’t resign him because they couldn’t afford him. So they got something out of losing him. Padres fan don’t seem to understand that.

I agree. I have always said they need to stick with him. If you go and look at his AB/HR, the last couple of years he has had the same pace he had in his Miami days (save for his 2017 season). All he needed to do was have a healthy year, and knock on wood, he's been due for it.

The only lineups that rival the Yanks power are the Dodgers and Phillies. Of course it’s a long season and things can always change but as of today, these are the big three.

I agree without Stanton in this lineup judge would be walked even more I haven’t checked the numbers but I bet judge has a it of walks the games Stanton doesn’t play keep big G in the lineup

I've been a Yankees fan since the 1960s. They were free on WPIX Channel 11, I think. Always on TV. 19" tv, no remote, no cable. Just missed 4 hrs in a row, that's rare. I watched as a teen when Reggie hit 3 hrs. I watched Bobby Mercer hit his 3 hrs in 1 game, too.

And Yankees fans never booed anyone right??

Pass fan hated him because he had attitude and never played for the team while on their team. Low moral and brought the team down. Was so boring to watch. Notice how he actually has his old batting stance back form playing on the nats

@@Ryan-cb1ei been a Padres fan growing up here in San Diego since the 70s. Lots of transplant New Yorkers here and lots of LA people here. People kinda like the weather here so they move here…

Have you been to San Diego? I would take living in San Diego every day of the week and twice on Sunday than living in NYC. I know this for fact because my family is from the city. My father and I both career Navy and so many New Yorkers escape NYC to live here. We as San Diego residence wouldn’t even consider NYC…

@@Ryan-cb1ei I have lived in both cities and Yankees fans have booed hall of famers and my family is old enough to remembering a guy named Mantle being booed. It’s rich for a Yankees fan base to talk about any other fan base when they have booed their own guys and thrown objects at the Guardians when the Yankees won the game…

@@wwilliaml619 We wouldn't boo for someone who was traded and yes we do boo for poor performance, these are professional athletes making millions, if they can't handle that then they shouldn't be playing.

@@stellarremnant again as yankee fans you’re the judge and jury on why a fanbase boos a former player? I know my section booed Soto for not knowing how many outs there was (he thought there were two outs in a close game and a fly ball was hit to the outfield and he was doubled off). He made errors like this all of the time in San Diego and cost the Padres games. Yes great offensive player but had lots of mental lapses that cost games. So that’s some of the motivation. Soto didn’t play well in San Diego defensively, and on the base pads.

Volpe is on a 17-game hitting streak, with his triple in the first inning last night. I'm not overly surprised at his improvement from last season. Anthony is playing like a veteran right now, and he's only 23. I'm excited for the kid. Let's go, Yankees!!

@@chuexsy672 the Padres have seen both the Phillies and the Yankees. I see the Phillies as the better pitching staff and the more balanced offense is the Phillies…. So overall I think they are better than the Yankees right now.

It was probably a loss, they had to save their bullpen for the next couple of games. His pitch count was actually low, they needed him to go longer
