I genuinely think take your shoes off is the best podcast on the internet. I listen to 2 bears, bad friends, Tuesdays with stories, we might be drunk, your moms house, are you garbage, flagrant 2, and many more and TYSO is just on a different level man. The authenticity, the conversations, the editing, the jokes. It just checks every box. What an incredible episode.
It’s kinda odd that all us comedy podcast fans listen to ALL THE SAME stuff… like. It’s a lot of time spent doing the exact same thing as a bunch of strangers.
Seeing Yannis try so hard to understand the flowstate of Rick's mental commentary makes me feel so reassured in my specific spot on the spectrum and long for friends who understand absurdism. Love you rick thank you for making me feel not so alone in this. I am not good at conversation and comedy, my gift is music and maths...thank you sir.
The ep where Robert Kelly read the text messages had me fuckin doubled over laughing. So gd funny! Santino ones are great, but I don’t remember losing bodily functions like I did with the RKelly one.
I love how Yannis slowly learned what kind of show he was on and had that internal realization that he has been waiting for this moment his whole life. I've never seen him have this much fun. What a pod!
This is top 3 best tyso episodes ever. Yannis comedy is either character based or usually rooted in social commentary. But he came into ricks bit heavy world and killed it. Because a real funny man understand angles and bits and can REadapt.
Man I love the chemistry you two have. Seeing people figure each out can be awkward especially when each one is so unique, but damn if you two didn't mesh perfectly. I hope he becomes a ..curring guest
That Whitney episode with him and Mark Normand really opened my eyes to how versatile he is. And then he came off the bench on this one and had triple double
This was one of the greatest podcasts ever made. Yanni is the best. Rick you always bring out the best or a new side of a guest. I experienced pure joy watching these two brilliant minds scissor.
This is one of the most special podcasts, in that they--never having had a conversation--were a great example of true communication. And connecting. In less than 3 hours, they displayed many of the motions found in navigating relationships. This would even be good source material for a psychology or sociology class.
Jesus Christ, I really caught a wheeze at that first ad snap and Yannis' "y'alright.." A clever edit makes me laugh harder than the best joke. God damn it. I'm almost angry.
Never seen Yannis live before doing standup, but I also never miss any of his podcast appearances. He's just such a good dude and hilarious. Yanny and Rick are gonna build a friendship from this.
Love the inner monologue bit. Would support more of it. Could also be a real way of having your guests better get eachother bc they'd talk about what their inner monologue would be together. And that itself would maybe lead to more bonding
I listened to this all the way through, then immediately came to the video to watch it again from the beginning. Only time I've ever done that with a podcast... Some kind of magic here
This was such an amazing ride. It kills me, I think Yannis deserves a lot more love than he gets- he’s fantastic on every pod. And his new special- amazing.
I am very appreciative of this podcast. I've struggled with negative self talk and I'm always afraid of asking myself questions. I literally laughed out loud like 6 times glassman goblin for life. Also only 70,000 more views!
THE CHEMISTRY! Is it just me? Am I projecting my feels? I had a great day today and now I'm enjoying this show with Poe and my face hurts from smiling and laughing.
Rick, you’ve changed my life for the better. I discovered your podcast in the last month and can’t stop watching archives daily. You’re one-of-a kind and give me so much joy. Your Kristen Bell initial episode is probably the funniest podcast clip I’ve ever seen and I watch all the main comedy ones regularly for years. Thank you for making me laugh til it hurts and giving me something to always look forward to. For you, I’d take my shoes off!!
Omg, had to stop to comment. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Love this so much. I need you for my mental health and I hope you don't stop making podcasts!
I should have gone to bed an hour ago but I can’t stop watching. This episode is so good I’m already excited to rewatch it. I think this TYSO epi will crack the ‘re’ theory
One of the greatest episodes ever, loved every second. Was so cool to see a friendship blossom between the two of you, look forward to seeing the next one, love both you guys and think you should deffo do more together
@1:36:38, Yannis said "this is gonna do fuckin' 75. Nailed it. Watch." I watched, and he pretty much nailed it. The ep came out May 17th. I'm watching May 27th. And at this moment, there are 77,014 views.
I’ve seen Yannis on so many podcasts and always liked him but was never really hooked. I feel like I got to know him here .. I love him !!! Watching his pod now. This is one of my fav eps!!
This is dope. Rick, Rick? Rick. To me this is the ultimate compliment: Every time I see a new guest on the show I think "This is a weird pairing, I can't wait to see how this goes." And then it's always super funny and interesting. Good stuff, bud.
Bopper here- funniest TYSO for me since Robert Kelly (145). This was solid gold. The thing that stands out the most is when Yannis asks if Rick discovered the Bombas because his dad left a pair in the bathroom - and Rick didn’t catch the callback.
I was thinking just that while listening to this. If you were to ask me who would be a better fit for this show I would certainly say Sasso. I love Sasso and Rick, but things have to be just right for an episode to be as good as this one with the Greek guy.
I'm a new listener cuz I just started following Yannis' work and this is like listening to a vivacious conversation between 2 ppl on a long bus ride but I just took a ton of fkn shrooms. I love it, babes. Subbed for life. 💕
One of the best podcasts I’ve ever watched. I love how confident and caring you are, Rick. I relate to Yannis in his negative mindset, and your analysis and advice really helped me too. 6th Lead!
