I have the yaqi ghost in stainless steel in the .70 gap. It's literally a perfect razor. I thought of getting the titanium but then i decided against it because the stainless steel is literally the perfect razor. 3 passes, without paying much attention and I'm BBS, zero feedback from the alum block. 45 dollars for that head in 316L steel.

As someone else said, the handle looks a lot like the Yates Merica. Seems like a great performer for you, the twig has found its competitor! The fact that it is made of titanium is really nice especially if you like it so much that it becomes your daily since it will withstand the test of time better. I actually like the looks of the handle.

It is pretty nice and will be very durable. It does look a lot like the Yates razors.

The cube is great, I haven't used my peroso pre shave since I got the cube. I'd recommend an unscented so it doesn't clash with your soap. Nice shave 👌

A month ago I bought the YAQI Ghost 70SP head in stainless steel, but the top cap was a bit crooked and I preferred to return it and ask for a refund. Hopefully in the future they will improve the quality and tolerances of the head.

PAA pre-shave is all I use. They have the 2.0 formula in a CUBE and in a TUBE. Personally I like the tube because it’s smaller, takes up less room and not as messy.

Great shave Heiko. Great price for a Titanium razor. I have the Timeless Titanium .68 and it does a great job with very little blade feel Made in the USA. The Timeless Aluminum has blade feel but boy is it smooth and at an affordable price. I know you have a lot or razors to review but put the Timeless Aluminum on your wish list. I will put in a good word for you with Timeless at the meetup this weekend. I use the PAA cube every day and it does a great job. 👍

Nice shave Heiko, Yaqi makes some nice shave gear, also RE has an unscented pre-shave bar.

PAA cube is the preeminent pre shave, for me. Any glycerine based soap will do and in Europe we have Heno De Pravia from Spain.Also good. Heiko, I have real problem with a razor manufacturer working in a country where production cots are a fraction of those in Europe or The USA, charging £100 for a razor. Especially if its design is based on a razor made elsewhere. But Yaqis brushes are awesome. Especially the newish " Cats whisker" ones. Lovely shave mate. All the best.

Cool razor - I want to buy it, but I have enough razors ! I bought the Rockwell 6S which is an exit-razor... PS: the cube ist not bad, but I prefer Shave Oil as a preshave.

Yeah, the 6S is pretty solid. If you have no need for a new one, no point in getting it but if you like mild razors and like an efficient 3 pass shave, the Yaqi Ghost is one of the best I have tried this far. I have not had much luck with Pre-shave oil. What brand are you using?

I like the PAA preshave. It puts a nice coat of CK6 down prior to your shaving cream. You can also use it as a shave stick. Its nice and very slick. I rarely use it anymore though. Ive just started using better soaps and you really don't need it. Some people still like it though. To each his on.

With Proraso yes you would definitely see a benefit.

I believe you are wrong. Titanium is stronger than steel, while also being lighter. Not trying to be a pain, just clarifying.

steel is stronger but much heavier than titanium. If you would have equally heavy parts (one steel and one Titanium) then titanium would be stronger. Titanium has a higher strength to weight ratio. www.thomasnet.com/articles/metals-metal-products/steel-vs-titanium-strength-properties-and-uses/

i use the balea allzweck balsam from dm as a pre shave and after shave. has good ingredients, unscented, and dirt cheap. works great for me even though it's not advertised as a pre shave, but i think regarding pre shaves everything is a ymmw thing. i also have prep derma protective cream, i would say it's ok as a pre shave, but my skin doesn't like it as a after shave (slight burn and itching for hours after aplication).

@krky86: Thanks for sharing. I wasn't aware that dm has (now) such a product. Some years ago they had a hand creme which seemed to be quite similar. But it was only available through winter months. It's very similar to Neutrogena handcreme (red cap, unscented), which is much more expansive (3 Euro / 50 ml). Personally I prefer "Glysolid", but not sure if it is sold in other countries as well.

@@bjorn6530 neither was i, i noticed it passing by, stopped to look at the ingredients, and saw some familiar ones that are used in shaving products and then picked it up. as a preshave i apply it on a moist beard after softening (showering/splashing with warm water for a few minutes), and then bowl lather mostly. as i said, preshaves are kidna ymmw, but for me this is great at hydrating, adds a bit of glide and the beard appears a bit softer. glysolid is not sold here, just checked. but dm in general has great stuff.

I am open to suggestions. I am currently filming with 24fps but i can increase that easily. RU-vidrs say 24fps is the most cinematic.

It’s similar handle wise but the heads are different. I have both the yaqi ghost 70sb and the Yates Merica. They shave different. Both are nice. The yaqi has more angle to play with.

Chinese clone and copy everything... some products are good some others I prefer to purchase the original.
