They write about the Renaissance, the Baroque era, the Roman Empire, etc. But the late Sixties was a period worthy of the best. A time when imagination, creativity & the free spirt reached new heights.
Lisa Eldridge any chance of you doing a mod collection Lisa? My mother told me about these years ago and I've been trying to track them down since then but of course the yardley colour range was discontinued aeons ago; there's been some new products lately from them but nothing quite like the old range, and I'm convinced that somewhere the recipes for these shades are tucked in a drawer. :p
that's what I thought this was but I still can't find it ...I think it's the one with Maud Adams and one or two other models out in the rain in London and one of them goes into a red telephone box....that's all I can remember
Oh - I had some of the Slickers - wasn't really old enough for lipstick, but it was so sheer and light, it didn't matter. Don't remember the scent. I do wish they would put it out again.
The Slickers I used to use had flavoris. I remember Pink Lemonade tasted really good, but it was so whitish pinky frost, I really didn't like it, but I wore it because I like the taste.
Has anyone ever found that "Slicker" lipstick commercial? The idea was to use it with or without regular lipstick. The song goes: "Slicker Under, Slicker Over, Slicker Alone." I never forgot that commercial. Very impressive to an 8 year old!
I've been looking for that commercial, you would think with all the junk on RU-vid they would have it! I never forgot it. There was a model in a phone booth, and I memorized it so I knew exactly HOW to wear my slicker. ...I remember they would run it every time the Monkees came on.
Yeah I'm afraid Yardley had great commercials beautiful women.. and it was the makeup to buy.. I know that sure sold it for me LOL and my friends it really was fun stuff you know the Frosted lipstick my Mom hated LOL they had such cute little containers to put your lip gloss in your eyeshadows..
