these videos of building the Yardmaster shed were a real godsend to us during the 3 days of putting this together. The instructions were no good, we used your videos throughout the build and couldn't have done it without them. Added to this we had parts missing too, like it seems others have had. However we got there eventually, and a heartfelt thank you and I just hope Yardmaster give you the reward of the recognition you deserve . Would never buy a Yardmaster product again though, wish we had known just how many small the metal pieces for the shed came in (200 we recon!!!) and therefore how long it took to assemble.

I've commented on videos 1 &2 about leak solving. In this video where you can see light coming through from inside. Run a bead or blob of clear silicone there. On the roof panels there is a gap because of the corrugation. They say it's for air flow, but it doesn't need it. I suggest finding strips of soft foam and cutting them to size and pushing them in the holes. This will also help to stop spiders too! The doors. You can buy door seal tape on a roll. If you run some of that at the joins it will stop water getting in. Any questions, please ask. These are really good videos explains how to fit and credit where credit is due, the poster has made a really good job of these videos.

Just wanted to say a massive thank you for doing this video, really helped an amateur like me who otherwise wouldn't have a clue. I'm much more of a visual learner and the instructions that come with it aren't as clear! Thanks again mate

On the panel overlap and panel fitting you should use tec screws. These paticular screws do not need pr drilled holes and they come with a rubber seal/washer.. a lot of farm shed builders use them to attach sheets to steel gurders.. awesome screws

Thanks for this video... I just wish I'd seen it before impulse buying my Yardmaster 10x10... It took me friggin' days of anger, cuts and swearing to build the damn thing and I hate it! It's holier than the Pope, barely anything wanted to line up so out came the drill... and the sealant.... never, ever again... gonna stick with wood! - Well, it has stood up against some heavy rain at least...

Great video and a great help!. Saved me a lot of time as I’ve just built the 10 x 13 foot shed today for a customer. Must say never again though as it took two of us a long day to finish and now absolutely knackered.. customer very pleased though. Just one thing though. If you read the instructions it’s white washers for the roof, black for the sides. Looks much better as the black washers don’t stand out so much against the green sides.. Very good of to take the time to film it and yes YARDMASTER should pay you for taking the time as the instructions are useless!

It’s a shame that they don’t supply an eves filler and a ridge filler the profile of the sheets as this would help make it more water tight. You could rivet the overlapping on the sheets to keep them in corrugated position.

Built one of these last 2 days. Pain in the arse. Especially if stickers missing or wet. Pictures you need to study closely. As for the fixings so time consuming! Takes ages to pick up a small screw and add the washer then line the holes up. If I built one for myself I’d use hex tek screws with the seal already on the threads. Smash them home. Easy to break into you just need to take the fixings out. Cheers
@MrSmid888
@MrSmid888 3 года назад
May I add, if you keep the base and roof square I only had a few holes not line up, but a screwed it in at an angle and it pulled it taught and the others lined up.

@adamsmith6594
@adamsmith6594 4 года назад
In the corners of the base frame you are supposed to be supplied with part No.407 which is called the corner gusset stiffener. You bolt through that to anchor the shed to the base. Else .... as one reviewer wrote. Cane out to find my shed had gone after a storm and had rolled across my drive and was wedged tightly.... into my neighbours car door panel.

I bought the 10x10ft and there are no runners for lower edge of door so the doors are just hanging on upper runners so dont slide wellk. If i lower it it sits on the metal and is noisy. Annoying!

I recently bought one and with no one to help me I built the roof after the walls, apart from the obvious problems fitting the corrugated sheets it is just as easy to build it out of order if you don't have people turn to help you with it :-(

your lucky my 6x4 she'd by yardmaster hasn't got a middle brace so when I fit the corners and walls they will be held by 2 tiny screws .My father hasn't got 8. Hands whilst I fit this.Everything else has been made indoors roof doors etc. Disappointed customer ,but haven't any choice on the matter.Informative video thankfully

Just in the process of building a 10 x 13 yardmaster, worst part has to be the roof, I made the mistake of starting it over the Christmas period, took me two days as assembled it, but last panel wouldn't go so dismantled the lot apart from the frame and started again the next day. Roof now complete with a little bit of manipulation and a few cuts, will silicone all screws and any gaps for waterproofing. Next is the sides,doors and installing the roof. This should only take me a day. Everything apart from attaching the roof to the shed was done by myself. The base will be approx 6" over all around, so will need waterproofing, any ideas? I thought of using about two coats of bitumen.

I bought mine 2nd hand so I had to dismantle it first then rebuild it so I had an understanding of what I was doing. Building the roof separately is the way to go. Don’t know how many videos I’ve watched with guys trying to screw the roof panels in place while standing on a ladder 😂😂 Just one question. How do you cope with the condensation. My build is exactly like yours with the wooden floor but the condensation on the roof is dripping all over the floor and tools. Any thoughts Thanks again for recording this

Thanks for this... I was hoping to ask a few questions if you have time to answer so here goes.. Why are the screws on the base joints put in from underneath? When measuring the length and width of the base, is the size the internal space or outer edges? Have you fastened it to the wood base and if so where? I'm fastening it to paving slabs would that be OK? Could you pop round and do it for me? 😁

I was wondering do you want the shed platform to be a bit bigger than the shed like you have it or is the exact size ok. Like if the shed is 10x12 then a 10x12 platform is okay? Or will I want the platform to be an inch or two bigger than the shed.
@highlandmalt6368
@highlandmalt6368 8 лет назад
+bluebladex3 In an ideal world, exactly the same size as the shed base. The reason for this is the rain can not then hit protruding base and sit there, potentially leaking into the building, or, in this case in this video, rotting the wood (it wont last long, regardless of any kind of treatment). If the base is the same size, the rain will land on the ground. Unless it is only for temporary use, I would say definitely form a concrete base, it's pretty cheap to do. Just don't make it over size.

Does anyone have any advice about the continual condensation on the inside roof. I'm assuming I have to ensure the roof is water tight before fitting my insulation but what is the best way to do this. I have already silicone as much as I can reach but not sure that its enough. If anyone wants to make a video on the subject please hurry. Everything in my shed is completely covered in mould which had defeated the object completely.

We bought 2 of these sheds on-line last year for temporary storage before seeing any videos and knowing how crap and flimsy they are. Bought under a different sellers name but still same Chinese shite. Panels are less than 2.5mm thick, bend like paper. Followed instructions building first one. When second one was built we dumped fixings and use pop rivets. Strong winds in Autumn ripped first one from base causing damage to roof and walls, second stronger as better fixings but walls and one side of roof damaged, doors on both complete shite and both leaked before the storm damage. Morale of story is, save your time and money, don't bother with this crap.

@kes71
@kes71 3 года назад
If you had watched the official Yardmaster video you would see that the panels actually overlap from the other way and it looks like you installed them from front to back instead of the back to front, then your overlap would not be like it is. and also I noticed when you put the base rails together and you screwed it together from the underside, that is wrong also. You did an okay job for the first time but this video should not be followed by people sorry to say, you did too many things the wrong way and yes I know the instructions are very poorly done but a little know-how and common sense is also needed too.
