My youngest daughter is starting chemo treatment soon. I have been using I love this cotton to make the cutest chemo caps. They look like a hat from the 1920's. They are so soft and perfect for the summer heat heading our way soon.
Ya, when I was in Texas in the 1990s, I was surprised to see that the gun racks in the pickups had actual guns in them... 😂 Being from California, that wasn't something I'd ever seen in real life! Here, mostly hats, ropes, and fishing poles live on gun racks... Have a great day. 🐞
I bought 2 (one of each variety they had) of the acrylic samplers at Hobby Lobby when I made a Granny Square lap blanket. Very helpful and I had lots left over. Keep in mind though that even if yarn is 30% off that they will not further reduce clearance items.
Just found your channel today, love it, new sub! Yarn Bee, swoon 😍 Checked our Walmart yesterday (SE Texas) and they didn’t have hardly any! Glad to hear you say the Mainstays yarn isn’t bad, been wondering about it.
Your Walmart has a lot more than mine does. Mine is down to maybe half of what you have. Another Walmart I go to no longer carries yarn at all after they moved everything around a couple of years ago. ☹
I work at Michaels and being as short staffed as we are is hard to keep up, when some mothers come in with their kids who use the skeins for footballs and it bothers me the most when the parents don't care. Ppl in general don't care like we back in the day we're taught to care and behave
I heard from a Michaels employee they are phasing out a lot of brands just to have more of their in house brand- loops and threads. It’s kinda sad, i like loops and threads but i miss having variety
Joanne’s has Big Twist as its inhouse brand. But to me, it untwists and gets caught in my hook a lot. Plus the instructions say do not put in dryer but instead lay flat to dry. Most of us prefer washable and dry-able yarn because recipients of our projects won’t want that hassle either. The only thing I can say about Big Twist is that it’s cheaper and has a lot of colors.
Agree!! Have to take care of our hands and body if we want to enjoy this crocheting. Doing smaller projects will prolong your enjoyment and ability to keep doing it.
