Hi Bonnie. I’m starting from your first episode and binge watching you today. 😁 I live in SoCal in the desert and it’s so nice to find another CA knitter. I’m currently knitting on my Rib Tee by Knitting For Olive while enjoying your content. Thanks for joining the RU-vid knitting podcasting community. ❤

Hi! Thanks for a great podcast. That baby blanket is beautiful. I’d use the extra for a size 12 or 18 month baby sweater. They knit up so fast & when I had my showers, everything we got was for newborns so it was nice to receive something that can be used a little later. Look forward to more episodes. 😀

Congrats on your first video! Instant subscribe when you talked about your other hobbies. And of course your obsession with knitting which I can relate. I'm knitting the Poet sweater now and it's great but just wanted to highlight that the sleeves are unusually small compared to other raglans. I'm knitting to the pattern gauge (using sport weight yarn) and I'm adding extra increases to the sleeve so I end up with zero ease there instead of negative ease. If you're planning to knit at a tighter gauge, even if you make a larger size to compensate, your sleeves may end up pretty tight. Just want to highlight that.

My wife thought it interesting that the Hobby Lobby hook beat Cover. She also wondered if the roughness would help a beginner with the yarn but sliding off the hook accidentally.

Hi. Great job on episode 1! I totally hear you about just needing to talk about your knitting and to talk about it with people who get it completely. I live in Rhode Island and have been knitting for a long time. I think I joined ravelry in 2009ish when I was teaching myself to knit after a lifetime of crocheting. I look back and realize how adventurous I was in the beginning. I went from learning on dish cloths immediately into sock knitting. Garments that actually fit me is a pretty recent phenomenon... there were a lot of attempts but that whole gauge swatch thing escaped me. Anyway... enjoyed your podcast. Your leftover lovey blanket yarn could easily be some baby sweaters.

Thank you for sharing about the local sheep farm. I looked them up and Sebastopol would be a nice road trip for me! LisaR: If you're working in the round in Garter stitch & prefer not to purl every other row ... *Knit one round( make sure to place a BOR marker ) * Flip your knitting inside out - so that the side that was the back side is now facing you and ready to knit. *Knit the 2nd round. Flip the knitting back to the original side . Continue rep Rounds 1 & 2 just remember to flip the knitting as above . No purling - Garter in the Round ( I hope 😅)

For free online classes, my personal favorite is Kathryn Morgan here on RU-vid. Her classes are really clear and approachable and often she’ll do fun themes that keep it interesting and fresh. I also really like Ballet with Isabella, but her classes are only available on her website and they can be a little pricey depending on the subscription you choose. That said, her attention to detail and ability to break things down is unparalleled. For some fun ballet content without the dancing (in case you need a break from knitting podcasts 😄) my favorite RU-vid channel is Ballet Reign. Their content is a ton of fun and I can’t recommend them enough!

Loved your video! I have been eyeing the Favorite Flannel sweater. Would you say the stretched elbow is a pattern problem or because of your yarn?
@AKnitterObsessed
@AKnitterObsessed 5 месяцев назад
Thanks! I think the elbow situation is a combination of the yarn and just the nature of knitted fabric for something fairly fitted like these sleeves. The yarn I used is a bit finer than the original pattern called for and the fabric is fairly delicate as a result. My sleeves also came out more fitted than the pattern called for due to me knitting off gauge, and I think anything that fitted will just have a slight tendency to stretch over time. Luckily I think it will be easily fixed with just a little elastic 😊

Most do it for a first episode and some of us find it relevant, especially as we gauge the content and interest. If you don’t like it, don’t watch. She did a great job for her first video! Not everything someone does (especially for a first time) needs a backhanded compliment disguised as “constructive criticism”. Plainly, just be kind to others. It’s truly not that difficult.
