Hi, I have been trying to start an lapghan project with this beautiful yarn, but for the first time in my short crochet history I am struggling with major over twisted yarn! I’ve tried using the end coming from the middle of the skein and it was so tightly twisted I frogged the entire project after a while to try to work from the end on the outside of the skein. Similar problem! I am not sure what to do as I sure don’t want to try to work through the 5 skeins I bought struggling all the way. Have you had this issue with this or another yarn? Is there an easy solution or do you think I should just return it?
With knitting I only ran into this issue when casting on which is so normal for me. But I could see how this would be happening more with crochet. Roving yarn, such as this, tend to want to twist up on its self when it is being twisted or moved around a lot. Have you tried spinning it up into a ball so it can move around more freely than a skein? Not sure this will solve your problem, but it may help. If that doesn’t help, I may suggest returning if you do not find joy in working with it. I do believe it is worth the end product as it is so squishy but no sense I’m not enjoying something you’re putting hours into.
@@LunarKnitsbyLori thanks for the input.I’ll try spinning the one skein into a ball and see if that works. I have not experienced this kind of twisted yarn with any other type I’ve used. You’re right- need to enjoy it! Thanks! 😊
