I so understand your situation. My yarn room is my den and when I sit down I'm surrounded by yarn and WIPs and even FOs. When I have guests, we hang out in the den and I've stopped explaining my yarn stash. Anyone who loves us will understand and accept it.
have you tried organizing wips based on completeness? then you could reach for (aka prioritize tackling) whichever one is almost done and can accomplish some FOs that way. Anyway, great content, you have such a bubbly personality!
Wouldn't mind a live were everyone pulls out there 98% finished projects to work on. I'm talking about all the "just got to make a border" or "tie in my ends" or "sew up together". Or even just a leisure video with music and a speed run of getting the "almost done" projects done. Am sure that it will give motivation to everyone!
I use zip lock bags when I start getting to many wips. I can write on the bags stitch used, hook size, and who it's for. When I get 5 I make myself work on one and finish it. Can't have more than 5 wips at a time. I donate or give away or sell all my projects not tagged to family members. I don't have a lot of space. So this is what I've come up with to keep my space cleared.
Get two kittens. Better two older cats that need to stay together. Save yourself the zoomies with the kittens lol. You can always call your shelter tell them your looking for two cats that need to stay together. They will put you on a list. They are typically hard to place so the shelter will be very happy. I recently parted with a lot of yarn I had no space. Now I love my stash. It's more manageable.
I enjoyed watching you go thru your WIPs. You will feel so happy once you get a batch of them done. I am really interested to see the scraptastic blankets worked up, especially when you are incorporating the already-crocheted yarn. :)
You are amazing! But I can understand why you want to destash, but having trouble letting go. You must be such a fast crocheter. Wishing u luck…and plenty of coffee. 😁☕️❤
Im so OCD. I have all my yarn organized and I only have 2 WIPS at any given time. Like a blanket and a wash cloth. Or a sweater and an amigarumi. Big projects living room, small projects bedroom. Take care
Hi! Just wanted to let you know I have been working along with you. I am so disorganized, have ADD, semi disabled hopefully temporarily and just have too much for the space of my house. I have been working on it for years and have made progress but certainly not enough.
The big C made me ADD and I couldn’t finish anything. Recently I decided to go thru my wips. I had over 40. So I put them all in one place. Then I went thru all of them one at a time to see if I would complete them. I frogged the ones I knew I would never finish. I have all of them on my rolling cart.
Looking at all your yarn makes me almost shaky and in the mood to buy more yarn right now. But, I don’t need any yarn, I have enough yarn to make a lot of things already.
Go Ginger! Yes! You can get through all of it, and I'm rooting for you, seriously lady. Now if I could just get my hind parts up and do the same thing. LOL

I;m amazed at your stash… I live in a very small one bedroom apartment…so my stash is pretty small. I can’t even imagine having so much yarn… it might be fun to roll around in it….❤
I’ve been destashing my yarn for the last 2 years 😅 and I still have way more than I thought…. Currently have 5 projects on the go at the same time 2 of them are scrap blankets that’s so long term that I won’t finish them anytime soon 😊
My craft room is insanely messy. It’s yarn, wool, craft supplies and currently little bits of foam all over from a costume I’m making! I too need to organize
I just recently did what you are doing. It can be INCREDIBLY overwhelming. It's also taught me to keep a notebook with me because I don't remember the stitch, hook size or sometimes even the yarn. Learning all the time.
when i end up with a lot of 90% done wips i set of a week to just work on them so i can get them out of the way. you shuld try it, it feel so nice when you get done☺
Yay, I'm so proud of you. And you should be proud of yourself. I know when you're overwhelmed, it can be hard just to start, but look at you go!!!! I would love to do it with you on video. If I were there, I would do my best to help you. Way to go!!! 😘🤗❤️
