I noticed that too. In fact the faerie dresses are the only thing about the dancing that stood it. The choreography is dated, dull and twee what you would see at your granddaughter's dance school parent night.

Personally l think the queens dress is prettier the fairies have long beautiful dresses but l think l prefer Titania’s but l see what you mean

at this point i am actually convinced that balanchine’s method of ballet is just contemporary with a shit ton of arabesques 🤦🏼‍♀️

I notice that the first verse starts with snakes and the second verse with spiders, and I’m sure that the ordering of the animals in each verse had to begin with the animal feared the most. I’m wondering if there is any animal mentioned in the lyrics that is well-known but not commonly feared today.

To that I would add most black beetles. I found a ladybug crawling on my shirt one day, and I’d bet that if it were a black beetle, I’d find it interesting as well. I certainly wouldn’t try to kill it, unless I should provoke it.
