Certainly doesn't feel like 30 years ago, I'm on the CD with Northop playing the march Praise i think it was. This piece was just incredible and 30 years later is still the best recording of it. Gives me goosebumps every single time I listen to it
Nick Hudson’s playing is perfect in that utterly sublime middle movement. I’m of the opinion the rest of the piece is actually pretty ordinary and generic, but elevated to greatness by the middle movement, a bit like Royal Parks.
As soon as i heard them play i knew i was listening to the winner, they were on spectacular form that day. Goosebumps everywhere, I've heard Cory play it technically more perfect but they lacked the soul for middle movement especially. Most definitely a performance of a lifetime and am blessed to have been there for it
Yes a masterly performance, one which will stand the test of time. Howard with Desford in 86 was of another level and then Fodens just lifted it again..just one of those very very special shows where it just flows..Hudson was magic, Band was just on it. Sounded 'easy'..one of the very select performances where you will say ' I was there' absolutely sensational !!
@@laurencebarton6267 I recall ole Nicky Hudson saying that the band was in great form during that time period and absolutely on fire that day. No truer words ever said.
The definitive performance..Fodens made it sound easy ! What a Band ! Maestro Snell ! As Max Boyce said " I was there"..they bought house down ! Sensational! ❤🎉
