Hiiiii, everyone! I'm ALIVE! I'm HERE! Honestly, my personal life is still on the rocks but as I just completed my first year of my psychology PhD journey, I didn't want to miss this opportunity to post a recap of my experience. I am proud of myself for getting it up! and about that personal recap... it is in the works. I feel like I'm emotionally not ready to spill LOL. But yeah, see you next week! Glad to be back :)
xo, Yeonni

I got my first B in my academic career, and I lost my sh*t over it, but after watching this, I learned it's okay and I won't let my hard work go to waste over a grade.

I can already feel what you're going through in your personal life. Just know, there's a light at the end of the dark tunnel. It's not going to be a fun ride getting out of the tunnel, but it'll be worth it. Because you'll rediscover yourself, love yourself how you need to be loved, and you'll become resilient through everything you've overcome. So please don't give up and always be gentle with yourself.

Thank you so much for sharing! The balance of life is so much harder than it seems so thank you for being so honest and open hearted ♥I just finished an undergrad in psych and I'm taking a gap year before grad school, so for me you're channel is such a blessing!

thanks for doing this, Yeonni! I'm not a psych student but have always been curious to understand the PhD process at overseas universities. buds, roses and thorns was such a cool concept. looking forward to seeing the other recaps over the years. and yeah, glad to see your face pop up on my feed again

hi Sarah, thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment :') i'm so happy to be back, and my brain is buzzing with all the possible videos to make! There's such misunderstandings and just curiosities about PhD programs, so now that I'm in it, I want to do my best to de-mystify the whole thing! 😊❤

everyone struggles with neuro sci and stats lol. one is content heavy and other very abstract concepts. you have a great attitude about getting good grades even though it doesn't matter because it motivates us to learn the material better. i had a mentor who was also the kindest and most consistently supportive person i ever met. you're very lucky to have a great cohort , i can't imagine doing a 5 year program alone. our social roles might actually determine our identity more than dispositional/intrapersonal factors--must be a bizarre feeling to be switching so much. sounds you are being very challenged by this program but youre becoming stronger because of it. it will be interesting to hear what clinical/counseling psych perspective is different to social work since they have similar goals.
