I'm guessing u guys get decent heat in the Summer in ur location judging by the swimming pool lol. Lucky if we get a couple of days of 27/28°c here in Scotland. Anything over 20°c here it's tops off lol 😂😂 everything's looking fantastic mate 👌👌
@tntropics definitely lol got some sabal Palmetto seeds here, trying the baggie method using soil/perlite but nothing yet! Been on a heater since December so still early days 🤞🤞
But you can grow some palms up there. I've seen Trachies growing in Edinburgh looking quiet good. They like cool weather anyway. Sabals are very hardy but they need some good amount of heat to grow. Especially warm nights.
@stevea3200 hi mate tried chamaerops a couple of times, both times they ended up with spotting on the fronds, and spear pulled. In saying that had them potted maybe fair better in the ground, think with yucca's they're OK but need to keep them on the dry side during winter.
People usually sell these in spring on ebay or etsy. But it will take 1-2 year to really take off. Give them a 5' circle minimum. I see one on ebay right now.
