Rainbow Trout is definitely not a fish that is synonymous with the state of Alabama, but it turns out we have a year round stocking in the Sipsey Fork of the Black Warrior River.

I’m looking at making a camping trip up there and want to wade fish for trout on a fly rod. I want shallow walkable water. Where are you in relation to the fly shop? I figure the best place for me is near there. What would you recommend ? Thanks
That's the area I was in. Anything from the dam down to the fly shop can be waded or at least accessed from a bank. It's a very popular fly fishing location.
I’ve been looking for a good trout spot to go fishing with my dad and we e gone to tannehill but came to late so there were no fish but if you could recommend any spot where would it be?(edit: forgot to mention we both live in Alabama so a spot in or near Alabama )
Yes you can kayak the lower section. There is a pay ramp at the Riverside Fly Shop and a public launch downstream at the confluence of the Sipsey and Mulberry Forks.
I'm from Colorado and I'll be visiting my sister down in Pell City in Janurary, I will definetly try to check this out! Trout fishing is my forte but I'll be looking for all kinds of species. I mostly fly fish, so targeting bass or anything else might be a little tricky this time of year. We'll see what I can end up gettin in the net. Thanks for the vid.
