< Famous Kachori seller arrested near airport Accused of using caste based abuses, sent to jail Vidhannagar police has arrested Lali Chhangani, owner of the famous Kachori shop of Barabazar, on charges of abusive language. The incident took place at Electronics Complex police station of Bidhannagar. When the accused was produced in the court on Friday, he was sent to jail custody for 14 days. According to police sources, Uttam Sonkar, resident of Sir Hariram Goenka Street, Barabazar, had filed a complaint against the accused. He told in his complaint that on April 15, he along with his friends had gone to Echo located in Salt Lake Sector 5. Had gone to attend the birthday party of an acquaintance's grandson organized at the centre. It is alleged that as soon as Lali saw him, he said that you came here and did not tell me and after this the accused targeted him and abused him. The accused made objectionable remarks about her caste and also threatened her. The victim said that because he comes from SC-ST, the accused made caste remarks to insult him in a public place. On the basis of the said complaint, the police registered a case under the SC-ST Act. While investigating the case, the police arrested the accused near the airport on Thursday night.
