It's so hilarious that Nat and Melina were having a deep and emotional conversation, while at the other room Red Guardian was sharing a stupid fish story with Yelena 😂😂😂
As funny as she was, she was also so convincing in the emotional scenes. Also I liked that her body actually looked strong and not just tailored to look sexy for the audience. Like she looks like she actually has power.
Yeah, she reminds me of WWE's Paige. Oh, wait a minute.....hehe. She definitely has the right body for her roles along with being beautiful and talented.
Another thing I love is her humor doesn’t feel so forced. She’s not the funny person just to be the funny person unlike other MCU movies have done. It actually feels reasonable. She was brainwashed when she was young and only been free for a short time so she still has that child kinda mindset and has things she wants to see and do since that’s the last time she felt free. At least that’s how it felt to me
I felt like her and red guardians constant humor disrupted the dark themes of fucking child abduction and abuse to the point where I don't give a damn about the climax because the film is too "funny" to make me think something significant will happen.
In an interview it came up that it came from Florence talking to Scarlett about it off hand in between takes and the writer liked it so much he added it to the film.
@@GabesEdtiz I disagree. This was something that was meant to be used for cinematic purposes. Sure, it might not be a good move in real life, but it's a movie and we are supposed to have a little bit of suspension of disbelief. If a parody movie or something like Deadpool commented on it, fine... but I feel the MCU shouldn't have done that. In the MCU, it should be a good move solely because it was used a lot. Even if in real life, it wouldn't be... it should allow the audience a bit of suspension of disbelief. A movie should be something where a cool pose should be practical and solutions can be simple. A magical place where defeating one guy can solve the problem and consequences can be limited just because.
I love it because you can take it as a jab towards Scarlett Johansson as a person when Florence says "but it does look like you think everyone is looking at you like all the time" that's totally SJ lmao
@@metoo3342 Not at all, but you take someone's ability to bear children away at such a young age, and that person is never going to be able to form proper relationships. It really does solidify a lot about her backstory imo
@@metoo3342 No but losong security over your own body and especially something as fundamental as reproducing, no sane person is coming out of that ready to jump into love or place all of their trust into somebody, it's just not possible. That would mentally damage ANYBODY. It's not that she cant have kids, it's literally that they ripped out her uterus as preteen(in their eyes, specifically so she couldn't form attachment to anything but the mission)
@@metoo3342 the red room taught the widows how to use seduction for espionage as well, and one of them getting pregnant complicates that. one of the widows deciding she wants to start a family and all that also complicates things for them. they weren't allowed to have any relationships (like natasha and bucky had a romance in the comics at the red room, and were punished for it), and a forced hysterectomy removes the possibility for that particular relationship. and then she brought it up with bruce because he said they couldn't be together because he was a monster and he couldn't have kids. I think their relationship was stupid and weird, but I don't really have an issue with that bit.
@Jordanxkun yeah… jokes work in threes. Tell me you don’t know how to write a joke yourself without TELLING me you don’t know how to write a joke yourself.
@@AtlanticGiantPumpkin actually no jokes don’t need layers. it can be straight forward. Also i wouldn’t consider the “pose” jokes to be jokes. More so a running gag.
She's funny in the comics? I've only read her first three appearances (90's Inhumans, when she "kills" Nat in the middle east, and the face swap arc) and she's so dry and serious. I just bought all the Black Widow series in bulk last week, so hopefully I get to funny Yelena soon. Because Pamela Anderson Yelena ain't it for me lol
@@chidaluokoro9104 Um hell I dont know, maybe because he is a guy in the comics? if anything the question should be why is Taskmasker a girl in the movie? He was badass in the comics and actually had a cool backstory.
I have said it before, and I will say it again. Whoever is in charge of casting at Marvel studios they need a raise. Marvel seems to nail it most every time with finding the right actor for a role.
@@danielenyel3542 Ibuprofen is a pain reliever. Of course, after a fight, humans like Yelena and Natasha take those to lessen the pain. Pretty sure Thor won't need that.
Yelena is so absolutely chaotic and without abandon, and I love it. She'd fit in PERFECTLY with the "Asguardians of the Galaxy" best, definitely with Tony had be still been alive.
Within 5 minutes of total air time for her, it was easy to see that she had star quality. Credit to whoever wrote her funny/sarcastic lines, but she also has great delivery, charm and of course physical beauty.
Their sister relationship seem so real in this film. “So cool right?” And the superhero pose has been the topic of jokes for a while. Even Deadpool made fun of it.
0:31-0.:35: Here's an example of great screenplay writing that most viewers probably don't get, but just showcases the brilliance thereof. There are two layers to those lines. The second is only understood by viewing that exchange as we, the 2021 audience, only can do - after the events of Endgame.
this movie is trying to be a spy thriller but also knows that they have to bave something to do with mcu when they don't have to this is a movie in the mcu they don't have to constantly remind us that this movie happens in the marvel cinematic universe. i think that was one of the worst parts of the movie in general and that's why i really like winger soldier
Nat grows softer and softer since the day she first appeared in Iron man 2. Yelena reminds me of the old ruthless Nat, but gosh she is even more sassy :)))
And Rocket! She and Rocket would get along really well. They're both really sarcastic, cynical, overly honest, get attached to weird things, enjoying blowing stuff up, want to die in a cool way, etc.
@@AStageForTheKingdom R: "Your vest got a lot of pockets." Y: "I know, right? It's cool." "How much for it?" "It's NOT for sale!" "...I'm getting that vest."
Of course the only person that can make Natasha ask for a truce ,have uncomfortable silence and a killer punchline is going to be everyone's favorite. MCU gets 10's across the board for this character
What I loved the most about that scene was that it proved she was keeping track of her sister and on some level, she wanted to emulate her, but then in the end, she was her own person.
I love her so much. She’s the perfect chaotic neutral. she literally started the movie operating on “I have nothing to live for so I might as well have as much fun as possible until someone or something inevitably kills me”.
Personally, I think that her Russian accent makes every single thing she says 100x funnier 😹 Same goes for Melina and Alexei. "My father, he go toilet on my hands." That got me good😹😹
Unpopular opinion: Yelena and Natasha's chemistry carried the entire film Edit: I said this was a unpopular opinion because I thought I was the only one who really liked Yelena and Natasha together, thanks for the comments guys it's good to see that I'm not alone :)
@Sophia Grace The show actually adresses that fact. Wanda masks her accent in the show because it doesn't fit in with her vision of the shows she loved as a kid (and likely is a reminder to her live in Sokovia and the loss of her family over the years.) where everyone has an American accent. When she leaves the Hex she speaks with her Sokovian accent to the Sword team.
@@vincentfreddoyle7555 yeah when they were on the run nat presumably taught her to hide her accent, also a reason for the ginger hair, nat's blonde bob and cap's beard
Its depressing watching the movie knowing Natasha’s eventual outcome, but it was an awesome passing of the torch movie and I hope we see a lot more of Yelena
I especially liked the passing of the torch because there were no heavy handed foreshadowings of Natasha's future. We just got to experience a moment of her life that we never got to see before. And meet her badass little sister.

@@howdyharleyq4093 I don’t think you got where I was coming from but tbh you can’t compare Midsommar with this film… The Marvel Platform is so much bigger with higher expectations for the acting quality.
@@nnamdi602 Please. It's not like playing a superhero will gain you recognition from the Academy (Oscars) or any other heavy acting prices. She was already nominated for her part in Little Women. Your "platform" pitch is for the drooling boys and those who take comics way too seriously.
I died when she engaged herself into lengthy banter about her reproduction system being removed...😂I am not sure about russian accent but russian attitude was there, I happen to meet and be around russians for quite long and this passive, almost always annoyed, uniniterested manner with low calm voice and at times sarcastic attitude is what stands out the most. She grasped it perfectly.😂😎🙌🏻👌🏻👏🏻
Yeah, I'm Russian, and she totally killed it! The accent is almost perfect, and I didn't know she cussed in Russian in original lol. "Сучка" was on point
And that's why I love helicopters good old outo rotation and you can walk away without breaking your neck and still you can say that you're alive in one peace
I love her taking the piss about her super heroes poser landing 👏 her sense of humour is just brilliant they couldn't have picked a better pair to play sisters, absolutely hilarious 😆 🤣
@@Mtab2260 Depends. It's been a bit since the last time I watched Winter Soldier, but if they parked outside the fence and walked in, it may have been far enough away.
Oh yeah, because Black Widow after spending a lot of time trying to redeem herself from her "blood gushing ledger" now is OK with civilians, prisoners and prison wardens being killed for obstructing her in breaking laws, and Yelena is cheering for their demise. So heroic, so iconic. Consume the product, be excited for the next product.
