i play guitar and my dream is to go pro. recently i’ve been feeling really burnt out but i think i’ve let myself sit in that burn out for too long and am now using it as an excuse. school does take up a lot of my time but so does my phone. i’m grateful to my friends for supporting me even thru discouragement but sometimes i really do need someone to yell at me and tell me to stop being lazy so i can reach my full potential. it’s embarrassing seeing other guitarists get better faster and i would probably make similar progress if i just got off my phone. so thank you alana, YOURE A PRINCESS❤❤❤

hey alana, i know you might not see this but i had to remind myself of these things a few years back when i was going through some tough stuff. your advice is like what i had to tell myself to get through those hard and depressing days. its truly a challenge to get up and do something that makes you uncomfortable or “tired” but when you take that step, and take the risk in the end it will truly be worth it. like you said at the end, you will look back at yourself and say “cant believe that was me 3 years ago.” sometimes its worth getting up the hour early to finish your work or do a quick run. sometimes its worth signing up for an extra curricular activity. not sometimes, always. its always worth it. you shouldn’t be worried about other peoples’ opinions or how you might be nervous or anxious about it, its just a step in the right direction to just give it a shot. you are the best alana!

I’ve been wanting to get over my social anxiety (or at least not let it run my life) so today I decided to take a small step and go outside and go shopping with my family. It was a very tiny thing, but for me being able to do that and not have a complete freak out (though I did get overwhelmed) was a big step for me. You motivate me a lot and I look up to you

Thank youuuuu Alana! Unironically all helpful points, it’s great to have someone tell it straight to you. Live life by finding comfort in the discomfort! I do think if we all did more of the things that we wanted, without the fears of discomfort and what others think, we’d all probably be a bit happier.
