If I didn't wear boys pants I would buy my knickers from there. The clothing is usually well made, if you want to pay their prices. Yes, the prices in the food hall are an eye opener, how the other half live eh!

The shop I went in, has a similar system to Tesco. Start reducing just after lunchtime, the later you shop the bigger the reduction.

The voucher was a gift, I had no choice, I had to shop there. I haven't been back since.

Hello, yes I remember you. You have done well to reduce your spending. I now use only Aldi and Home Bargains, because I no longer traipse around different shops. I go at 8 o clock at night when there is hardly anyone there. I go every 2 to 3 weeks. I have been using soya milk on my cereals, but now prefer almond milk. I use Coffee Mate in my coffee. I don't use the envelope method, I don't separate it out into different pots. I know how much I have, and I know I will easily cover my bills. My life has moved on a bit and now I am not so skint. I don't need to chase the bargains. I do a lot of coffee chats now, talking about anything that comes into my head. People seem to like that. Talking about every day stuff. I go most days to tesco as it’s 2 streets away and takes minutes and saves a lot!...if u only go every 2/3 weeks how can you make the food you don’t freeze last? I imagined you eating salad most days..also one of my faves. I try to use the salad /veg within 24hrs where possible. So for a stir fry or bag of salad how many days after the use by date would you eat it? Have you a hard and fast rule? I try to eat it within 24hrs but perhaps being over cautious. @@ladolcevitauk1474 Hello. I use my senses when deciding if something is safe to eat. look at it, is it mouldy, does it need eating quickly, or will it last another day. Sense of smell, dies it smell nasty. Sense of touch, is is squishy, over ripe. Some things go off quicker than others. Vegetables will last two weeks after the date, salad and fruit will need to be eaten quicker. Be careful with meat and fish. Ignore dates and use your common sense. What did we do before dates were put on packaging.

@@meanqueensuperscrimper8908 haha I’ve only ever known dates (born in the 1980’s) like you I’m vegetarian. wow that’s very liberating to hear not taking too much notice of dates. I’ve always been worried about use by dates. 😊

If I plan my meals carefully I will eat things before they go off. I check it all two or three times a day, and if necessary I will freeze some. Some of our supermarkets donate to Food Banks here if they have a lot left.

@@meanqueensuperscrimper8908 Thanks. I admire that you check your food several times a day and eat it before it goes bad. We should all be that diligent! Like you, I live alone, so I must eat everything I buy to keep food costs down. It's amazing how much we can save by not wasting food. I freeze many things, including milk and bread, plus little bits of leftovers for soup. Those of us on a fixed income should be doing that. For Christmas, my children gave me gift cards from my favorite grocer and I loved that. I dearly love your channel.

Thank you Jimmie. It makes sense to keep a careful watch over your food cupboards and fridges, keep checking dates and eat the food before it goes off. Tinned and packet food can be eaten a long time after the date, sometimes years. I eat everything I buy, silly to throw money away.

Yes, I think it's more for people who have unlimited money to spend, who don't care how much things cost. Not good for people who have to watch their pennies.

I agree, in fact it left my run down shopping high street altogether a few years back.

We had a town centre store, a lot of people live in nearby blocks of flats, they probably didn't have an income which matched M & S prices so didn't go in there, it closed. We now have an out of town store on a retail park. There is a residential area nearby but most people have a car to drive there, so are more likely to be commuters travelling to and from work, and weekend shoppers.

I live in South Shields, I know you've been there, and our high street is just a ghost town with charity shops and cheap shops (which I don't mind to be fair!) But tons of boarded up shops which is a shame. We have a Debenhams but I say to my daughter we aren't dressed up enough to go in there lol.

I have recently been again to our M & S to buy some treats for myself. It is still ridiculously expensive to shop there. I shall continue to go to Aldi and Home Bargains.

@@meanqueensuperscrimper8908 Hope you got some nice things from M&S. My nearest one is a few miles away and I don't drive. I go to Home Bargains every time I'm in town. Also B&M and another cheap food shop we have called Heron Foods. Even the prices in these shops are going up, unfortunately. I shop around quite a bit and often buy items from the budget ranges in the main supermarkets.

No, this is the same kitchen. I updated it quite a few years ago now, I wouldn't have invited anyone into the old kitchen, it was pretty grotty. I like to keep the worktops fairly uncluttered.

@@meanqueensuperscrimper8908 Nice. I plan to update mine eventually, but in the meantime I did a cosmetic fixup - paint/ polyurethane new door handles, fixed broken drawers etc. I think I can keep it the way it is another 4 years or so.

Good idea, get a few more years out of it. My floor was disgusting, carpet in the kitchen with cats is a no no. So on ripping it up it was a good time to change the scruffy looking cupboards.

It is a bit hit and miss there, not worth me walking across the road from Tesco to go and have a look.

Hello. I just answered your question on another video. I only sell my art when I do an exhibition, or to friends and people I know. I don't do distance selling, I would rather people see it in the flesh before making a decision. ilona

No, I'm sorry, I can't do that. I never eat out, never go to restaurants, never have takeaways. The only advice I can give you is to stop going. Prepare and make your own food at home.

If you go to Asda at 9pm, they reduce everything to 2p. Depends on the time you shop, and the individual store.

@@meanqueensuperscrimper8908 I mean ASDA food at full price is pretty bad, buying it reduced can't be great. Marks reduced actually lasts a while, up to 1 week at times. Marks have become more crafty though, they stopped reducing bakery items because of people like you and me. The final reductions are made 1 hour before close, most of the time they take 10p off a £2 item, which is not worth it.
