Miguel Rodriguez-Piñero Rivas It’s less that you get bigger unit sizes and more that you get mad replenishment and, at some point, the campaign just starts flooding your roster with new leaders, sort of encouraging you to flood the land with cheap peasant mobs.

@@Zerkovich ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-s-pIjgvjPFo.html what's worse is that staff used for.. combat (because yes they actually have and were used) usually are treated (oil and other substance usually were used to cure it over a long period if i recall correctly) and generally they are made quite dense and hard thanks to it (a simpler and faster options if curing it is not possible i've read is to just cap or band the staff with metal). there was one staff i've seen in a temple in china during one of my visit that at first i thought was made of metal because of the color and because it was so hard that it literally made the 'CLINK' sound when i rested it against the floor upright. it wasn't until i look at it closely and carefully that i realized that it was made of wood... not sure how old... or how they cure the wood (and with what) but whatever the process they used (maybe some carpenter can help shed how this is done) the result is impressive AND rather fearsome... like... if someone is hit full force by it... i don't think he will fare better than being bludgeoned with a hammer.

He underestimated the power of their archers, particularly Archery Masters and Watchmen of the Peace. When properly defended, Archery Masters can murder several times their unit size while Watchmen can fire all their ammunition and then reliably plug the YT frontline, which no other crossbowmen can do it the game.

I never meant you can't go range heavy and it be effective. Just that having the powerful melee units at half sizes, and not a lot of shields about, suggests they may not want to hang around. But if you're not bringing the small shieldless units, and bringing lots of archers, I'm sure it can be plenty effective.

@@Zerkovich they, imo, do have veterans who seem to be the way you're referring to. Charge them, surround them, don't let the enemy fire shots if you can help it ( purple yellow iirc. ), then the scholar is so much different and you get so many nice ranged options to you, ex watchmen of the peace. Absolutely godly units and with them, trebs, and reclaimers from healers, you have a very sturdy traditional late game 3k army. Their horse archers are also just behind white horses archers in effectiveness imo and they still fire when cycle charging. You can have entire armies dedicated to ambushing, too, unlike han armies ( ignoring zhang yan who almost always ambushes ). I never felt yt were weak like some others do... And honestly like them more overall than playing han ( or 8p).

yeah, archer and cavalry in this game are the main damage dealer; the infantry role is simply to hold the line I've only played Han faction but my strats during mid-late game are usually like this: 4 spear guards as frontline and 2 ji militias on to protect each flank, they formed a blunt arrowhead... inside of the arrowhead i put all my missile units and trebuchets when i had money to bought them as for the cavalry, the hammer and anvil tactic never go wrong. i just either put them in the back as reserves or as a flank to hunt down unprotected enemy missile units

Armour piercing damage is always applied. Regular damage can be blocked by armor.

I actually tested the Bringers. Had a Cav charge into them in the formation and it did... some damage, but not huge amounts like CR usually does. And Peasant Spearman do have it. The symbol is on their unit card for one thing, and I tested them to see if they did decent damage from it. Which they did. Took some Cavs basically to death from one charge too.

They're on a specific Hero type... I forget which one. Either Healer, Veteran or Scholar. Only one of them has those melee cavs I think.
