Yellowstone - Mo paints Rip's horse before the raid on the Militia
In Yellowstone Season 2 Episode 10: "Sins of the Father", Kayce Dutton, Mo Brings Plenty, and the Livestock Agents prepare for a raid on a militia compound where they think Kayce's kidnapped son Tate is being held. Mo paints Rip’s horse in a traditional ceremony so that the horse will keep Rip safe.

I saw an interview where Mo said this was one of his favorite scenes. It meant a lot to him.

I like to hear this. Maybe a sleeper for the best 90 sec segment in the show. Mo’s writing is awesome. Everything about this scene ahhh

Rip and Mo are similar people but different culture. The show has amazing characters.
@ZoneZero-sm9jv
@ZoneZero-sm9jv 9 дней назад
Their only similarity is that they are both fearless, stone cold killers when they need to be and loyal. They are enforcers. But Mo has a much deeper understanding and relationship to things. He has a family, a people and an ancestry, while Rip came from monsters and lives as a bachelor cowboy and perpetual indentured servant to a murderous and greedy billionaire. They protect the land for very, very different reasons. Mo's so deep, he is practically the same guy in real life, descended from a famous warrior, that's his real name, real culture and he actually has lived some of the realities in the show. But agreed, amazing characters all around, so well cast and expertly acted.

Love this scene because you have two of the same people from different walks of life. Both are caring but very brutal in their walk. Both live humbly, because both had ugly upbringings. As a Native, I would welcome RIP into my home. Especially since he became a warrior at an early age (usually around the same time an indigenous boy becomes a man within his tribe)

True, but I found it odd that John didn't give him one of the body armor vests hanging in the red barn. That would have been the least he could have done if Rip was already putting his life in danger.
@shawn3363
@shawn3363 2 месяца назад
@@scalar12 I don't think Rip would have taken it. He always put the ranch over himself and he probably felt that had he died, it would have been a just payment after what John did all those years prior. Just my view of it. Men like Rip are quick to offer their lives to atone for their past issues.
@scalar12
@scalar12 2 месяца назад
@@shawn3363 I don't think he would have refused the vest if it had been offered to him. Sure, he's 100% loyal, but that doesn't mean you have to put your life in extreme danger even though you're offered to mitigate it somewhat. But I think he didn't even think about it, but was happy to have the opportunity to thank you for his letter and the house.
