This guy really took the role seriously. I don't know how much preparation he did but Cole Hauser is nearly unrecognizable here. His expressions, mannerisms... disposition - nearly everything about the character seems entirely unique to Rip Wheeler. He deserves an emmy award for his work on this show.

Its cool when an actor thats been kicking around for a long time finally gets the role that makes them the recognition they deserve.

They couldnt of picked anyone better to play Rip Wheeler !!! Cole Hauser is one of the most underrated actors I've ever seen !!!

Without Rip, there is no Yellowstone!

Cole Hauser trivia for those who don’t already know: he is the son of Cass Warner, who founded the film production company Warner Sisters, and actor Wings Hauser. His paternal grandfather was Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dwight Hauser. One of Cole's maternal great-grandfathers was film mogul Harry Warner, a founding partner of Warner Bros., and his maternal grandfather was Milton Sperling, a Hollywood screenwriter and independent film producer. Cole comes from one of the biggest Hollywood families but you would never know it because he has never used it to get famous. He has earned his acting creds all on his own and deserves all the praise he gets especially for this role if Rip Wheeler.

Rip, the modern day Clint Eastwood. And I love Clint Eastwood.

Hauser was MADE to play this part! He has made Rip into one of the greatest on-screen characters of all time.

Cole Hauser has been around a long time but the way he plays Rip is career defining. It’s like Rip is a real person they just put in the show.

Love Rip when he busted thru the glass to save Beth in he office that was great. I can watch it over and over. Beth and Rip together are great

I've loved Cole Hauser for years. In all his roles, this is by far the perfect one. He plays it like it is in his blood. He and this show deserve a lot of recognition.

I liked the scene where Beth had been beaten and she called Rip. "I need you." And Rip took care of business. Yeah!

Can’t give enough credit to the writers, to the people who picked the actors to play their role and just the perfect chemistry between Rip and Beth, love love their storyline. Going back now to rewatch from the beginning...again.

I love that first Kayce/Rip scene so much. Rip knows right away its gonna be a scrap, and gives him the first shot, then welcomes him home while riding off, hahaha!

I met Rip or the person he was based on, years ago went to Western Montana to Elk Hunt, my guide was Calvin, he was Rip to a tee. Strong, kinda quiet, but a great, nice guy. There are stories about hunters that did wrong in camp and Calvin fixed their attitude problems. Bring big city attitude to rural America and you will receive rural attitude.

I respect how he delivers his lines. His expressions are so easily understood & moving.

Cole Hauser is the modern Gary Cooper- stoic, loyal and strong.

Since "Lonesome Dove", Yellowstone is the best series to come to television,, hands down

RIP is all cowboy, no holds bar! Love his mean aggressive attitude. Then he can be a gentleman in a matter of seconds when Beth is present. Just runs a tingle down any woman's spine, a rebel with 110% charge!

This is the kind of show that I would and will wait a year for the new seasons to come out.

John Wayne, Lee Van Cleef, Clint Eastwood... ALL great cowboy actors! Something about Kevin Costner... he's #1 in my book. Open Range was awesome.

I just started watching this series and I love it because of Cole Hauser's character. I really like the chemistry between he and John Dutton👍

This show gives me a sense of justice in this jacked up upside down world right now. Granted it is a bit extreme, but there are a lot of tune ups given in this show that many people in our politics deserve. Gives me hope that it might still all work out. 😂😂

Season 2, Episode 7. That episode defines Rip; loyal to Beth and willing to literally take bullets for her. The interaction between Beth and Rip, when he's about to say he loves her, and she tells him "Tell me when it saves my life." The episode is perfection. Cole Hauser was meant to be Rip. ❤
