@shariaguillon7861 To me, one of the great subtle scenes is when he rides back the ranch HQ to meet Emily. He is in perfect control of his horse. Riding thru draws and around brush. And when he tells Travis he was right about it being all about the horse. Nikki is going to love that.
Kelly Reilly does such an incredible job portraying Beth. Few actors/actresses get the opportunity to play a role like this and she absolutely kills it.
100%, its not only the role but the writing of the character is so fucking good. She has depth and so many layers its just a show off really. And she is indeed did a phenomenal job using those layers as a source when creating the character. Top tier stuff across the board.
@@technofilejr3401 I know right!! The struggle is real!! Knowing how the Beth and Jamie dynamics came to be without spoiling anything is excruciating!!
Beth's complexity is so fascinating. She is brave and strong, but also fragile. She is dangerous and unstable, but she also longs for stability. When facing her, the enemy is like facing a storm. And she always has wise thoughts and philosophical words (not the cursing part, she is also very good at cursing tho). I really like her. She is my favorite character in Yellowstone.
@@MrArgmanShe became absolutely unwatchable as the series went on. I felt her character was so repugnant and unlikable, she dragged the series down. Attempt to write a strong women went completely awry. They wrote a miserable bi*tch on wheels and thought we’d love her.
Knowing what is revealed later, the scene when Beth sees Tate and John together has additional meaning that I didn't know about the first time watching.
30:54, Kayce does have the brand. Monica being his wife has seen it. She probably just never knew that this ritual was an actual thing on the ranch that is done to multiple people. Won't say more.
So Jimmy, what's wrong with him is- he's just over sore. We have a ranch here in Az. My first summer back from college (uofa) we had to change pasture for the cattle .. and that same week we had to refence the land. After about three days on a horse, I was walking like Jimmy . Imagine every muscle in your legs cramping non stop.. get you to the point of screaming and crying. I feel Jimmy's pain m
Yeah he's just saddle sore we've all been there last time I was i got bucked off like a greenhorn because my horse spooked I didn't have a good seat feet not in the stir ups letting the horse just got back to the barn I was just done for the day I wasn't paying attention and went for a ride 😂
I get how Beth character feels because my mom feels the same way toward me and it’s been like that since I was a child and no matter what I did I could never figure out what I did wrong. I remember one day as an adult. I asked her did she love me and she said no. The funny thing was I wasn’t even sad about it. I knew that she didn’t, but I just needed to hear it. She’s 86 years old now and still hateful towards me and we haven’t seen each other in years. When my aunt passed away seven years ago, it was just before Christmas and my family wanted me to be with them at my sister’s house and I promised my brother and sister that I would be there the whole time my mom didn’t say two words to me. So when I saw this scene, it just really hit close to home. you really picked a good one with Yellowstone because it’s going to get better and better
If you loved Marcus' growth in The Bear, you'll love Jimmy's. And Walker is played by Ryan Bingham, he won an Oscar for ' Weary Kind' on the Crazy Horse soundtrack.
Taylor Sheridan is a stunningly good writer. He wrote the Sicario films (which I know y'all have seen) but you should definitely check out both Hell or High Water and Wind River. Both movies feature a lot of Sheridan's regular collaborators including many members of the Yellowstone cast.
Fun fact: the new cowboy is played by a singer named Ryan Bingham. He has since married one of his Yellowstone co-stars. He wrote songs and performed in a movie starring Jeff Bridges called “Crazy Heart” (2009). Funnier fact, George Clooney’s character in “Up In the Air”, his name was Ryan Bingham.
I'm born and raised and still live here in Montana!! That's what we want as John duttons does to keep our land, minus the killings!! Not wanting at all big rich people coming to build big plants here!! Montana is known as big sky country!! Never wanted to leave here and I'm 62 now!❤😊 Love your reactions to Yellowstone and it gets better and better..
26:20 the guy that plays walker is an actual country singer Ryan Bingham and that song he's singing is his own from one of his album's. Sheridan brought Ryan in to write songs and when Sheridan found out Ryan had some cowboy experience he wrote him into the show also Sheridan said "if you suck I'll justI kill you off"
So glad y'all are watching this. It's been a minute for me so this has been a nice visit with these characters again. Looking forward to the reactions as always 🤟🏽😎
5:22 Taylor Sheridan, the co-creator of the show and the primary (virtually exclusive) writer for most of the series (a few episodes had co-writers), plays horseman Travis Wheatley here and in future episodes. What is being depicted here is the Western equestrian sport of “cowhorse,” which has two basic components: reining and cutting, which are also independent sports by themselves as well. They’re rooted in cattle ranching skills and can be quite lucrative. The organizations Travis is mentioning, the NHRA and NCHA, are the National Reining Horse Association and the National Cutting Horse Association, which oversee competitions in each sport. Reining involves the rider and horse completing specific patterns and being scored on spins and slides, while cutting, which you’ll see later in the series, involves cutting a calf or steer out from a herd, utilizing a horse that is bred specifically for the purpose, and isolating the calf (on the ranch it’s usually done to ensure calves can be inoculated or otherwise treated for medical problems). Mention is made of various “futurities,” which are competitions in these sports, as well as breeding qualifications and horse lineage. Horse breeding itself can be an extremely lucrative business, and we see a little of this in the show. Some big names in the cowhorse world, as well as in professional rodeo, make appearances on the show, since Taylor Sheridan is involved with cowhorse competitions himself in real life (his production company, Bosque Ranch Productions, is named for his own horse ranch in Weatherford, Texas, which hosts cutting competitions frequently). One element of the show is that it reflects some of the real life aspects of rural and ranching life (while still being remarkably unrealistic in other aspects). It’s a lot of fun!
Rip = Character Fuse of ( Bronn + Tyrion Lannister ) But he is like the untold adopted son to the family instead of the secrets deformed child storyline.
talk about dysfunctional sibilings. seeing that scene between beth and jamie reminded me again of the nature of their relationship because it's been a while since i've watched this show.
from a legal standpoint, the whole gun barrel thing is no longer a problem because they swapped, there's no proof who shot who when each had each others barrel, court could not prove to within reasonable doubt that what gun was where and now there are 2 possible shooters, one being a county officer who admitted to swapping barrels with the other , lawyers for each could argue misadventure for both sides and the only evidence is tainted. its actually best for both sides to keep it quiet as they would incriminate themselves as much as the other.
about 30 yrs ago, before you guys were old enough to remember, there was a TV series every Friday nite, for years. I think it was a CBS network show. it was called "Dallas"! History repeats itself. I'm loving it.
I was raised on a farm. Rode many Quarter Horses and been bucked off several times too. None of them were worth much more than several thousand at best. My mother however was gifted a low end Thoroughbred Horse (long story) valued near 50 k. Best damned horse I ever had the privilege to ride. Beautiful smooth gate and FAST compared to the cattle Quarter Horses I'd ridden...
There's more than just their lore of The train station or the long black train, Look up the yellowstone or wyoming "zone of death" it's actually a really interesting subject to research
13:44 The 6666 (Four Sixes), the Waggoner, the Tongue River, the Pitchfork and the Galt are all real cattle ranches. The 6666 Ranch comes into play in Season Four, and we actually see it and meet some of the real life cowboys who live and work there.
Lee's dead, Beth and Jamie have no children so that just leaves Tate. Beth has already said that she'll sell the ranch the moment she gets the chance. Jamie would trade it for a career in politics. So, that leaves Kayce and Tate to carry on the tradition and to hand the ranch down to the next generation. Watching how desperate John is getting to be able to effect the future before he's gone makes for an interesting character. Time waits for no one.
@@technofilejr3401 Yeah. They went pretty fast in that first episode but you can tell that John had pinned his hopes on Lee. That's why the subject of him being 38 yrs old and still a bachelor came up. That's also why John criticized him by saying there is a difference between working the ranch and running it. Now John's got cancer, Lee is dead and the clock is ticking. You really can see how it all changed in that first episode. Now John has to pin his hopes on the black sheep and that's not going to be easy. These are good characters and a good story. And we haven't scratched the surface with the others (no spoilers).
Eventually, we learn why Beth treats Jamie the way she does and why Jamie accepts her treatment. I hope that I'm not spoiling anything by saying that there is more to this than we viewers realize.
Out of all the people in the cast, Lloyd is the only TRUE Cowboy. He was a championship bronco rider and use to work at the 6666 ranch in Texas. Which I *think* is the largest contiguous working cattle ranch in the U.S.
Binged the whole show after watching your first couple reactions and BOY OH BOY you’re in for a treat especially end of season 3, especially for and most certainly 5 😂
So, Jimmy really is injured. They all had to go to cowboy school for several weeks to learn everything cowboy. From riding to saddling, to working and caring for the animals. Jefferson White (Jimmy) had deep saddle sores so bad that he had to be seen by a doctor. They are all really working those horses and cattle while they are filming. Part of the deal for filming in that ranch. There is so much behind the scenes that they could do a whole other show about it. I'll do my best to keep y'all posted.
Nikki and Steven… love your reactions! Nikki I’m glad you said that Beth’s screams resonated with you! The first time I watched this episode, I thought she did a phenomenal job and as you get more into it. It makes sense. Keep this scene in mind. 😊 can’t wait for more of your reactions! ✌️ ❤
"Casey give Jax Teller vibes" The Creator of Yellowstone is Taylor Shariden who played the deputy Sheriff of Charming California in the TV series Sons of Anarchy Beth's scream will make sense latter on.
If you want to go on a Taylor Sheridan spree, "Mayor of Kingtown" with Jeremy Renner is terrific. "Tulsa King" with Sylvester Stallone. There are also 2 spin-offs of "Yellowstone, but I haven't seen those yet.
27:30 just wait till you find out what that came from. No spoilers but it's really sad and fills in some big gaps about beth. Just wait. Also, walker is played by Ryan Bingham, a well known country music artist - song suggestion(s) - south side of heaven - the poet - hallelujah. And this show has a lot of his songs in it, and he's one of the most mysterious characters in the whole show.
17:25.. I agree,I think Beth is awesome, but as you said, what would be worse, to be her friend or her enemy but none the less I think the actress that plays her is so attractive.
If you've never been in an accident, you don't often realize that an airbag deploys at approximately 60 mph, and if you are lucky, the worst you will get from the incident is a broken nose.
So cool that you're watching this Show 😁 if you like this one, you absolutly need to watch the prequels 1883 and 1923 after that 👍👍👍 greetings from Germany 👋😃
Jimmy spent a whole day on the horse when he rescued the calf, and then he got the crap kicked out of him, so his whole body is hurting right now. He just needs time to recover and he needs to spend time in the saddle.
