I wasn't sure I was ever going to get this video finished, from missing video files to switching editing programs I was in tears several times putting this together, and to be completely transparent it didn't turn our how I envisioned it, but here it is a glimpse of what we did in the north part of Yellowstone.
We RV and stay in West Yellowstone, and there was a ton of driving to get from West Yellowstone to Lamar Valley but we used the Gypsy Guide App gypsyguide.com/so with that and all the unique scenery the drive went by pretty quickly for us, but it might not feel that way for you while you are watching this video so here are the chapters so you can skip all the driving and go directly to what sounds interesting to you.
1:36 Roaring Mountain (I personally would consider this skippable)
1:56 Sheepeater Cliff (I like this quick stop)
4:02 Golden Gate Canyon (I love this part of the National Park)
5:30 Hoodoos (I love this area too)
6:55 Mammoth Hot Springs Elk Traffic Jam
8:31 Blacktail Plateau Drive (This is another skippable point of interest for me)
9:55 Petrified Tree (Unless you have never seen petrified wood I would skip this too)
10:49 Bison ( this is the beginning of our bison sightings in this area)
11:09 Bison Traffic Jam
12:30 Bison Funeral
13:56 Lamar Valley
15:05 Wolves From a Very Far Distance
16:13 Blurry Black Bear
16:25 Undine Falls
17:16 North Entrance & Roosevelt Arch
17:49 Boiling River (It's been closed for several years now)
18:17 Mammoth Hot Springs Visitors Area
19:14 Mammoth Hot Springs Elk
20:58 Mammoth Hot Springs Lower Terraces
21:26 Mammoth Hot Springs Upper Terraces
22:28 Another Blurry Bear Sighting
22:52 Orange Spring Mound
23:28 Angel Terrace & Bobby Socks Trees
24:08 One of our random conversations

Enjoyed the video. Bison are my favorite critters to watch and they make great burgers. You showed just how long some drives are in the park, even longer if you make stops. On the Blacktail Plateau Dr I've always seen deer in the first half mile on both sides of the road. They are hard to see but they are there. I've seen bison along the ridge in the middle of the drive but no bears yet. I think it's a beautiful drive since most people do not drive it. I've parked and was all by myself for and hour and that's hard to do in YNP. I'll look for your other videos as well.

Lamar Valley is where it's at for me. That's where all my wolf sightings have been.

I agree. I hear people see them in Hayden Valley and even around Madison, but I have the best luck in Lamar Valley.

I think this is beautifully done. I am watching your videos on GTNP and YNP just because I love it there so much and miss it. I just play these to reminisce and they are just so calming so you did an awesome job!

Nice video. We have been to Yellowstone many times. Leaving early in the morning to look for animals is certainly wise - plus not as many cars on the road.

Thank you. Yes, I’m an early morning person there for both of those reasons. You don’t really think about traffic being bad in Yellowstone until you experience it.

My favorite part of the park is the Lamar Valley and I will sometimes sit there for hours. Back in the 90’s the Mammoth Hot Springs were extremely beautiful but because of an earthquake the water shifted and to me anyway they aren’t much to look at anymore. The female elk spend all summer raising their calves in Mammoth because of the grass. It’s Kentucky Bluegrass that was planted many many years ago. We were told that by a ranger. I love Yellowstone.

I didn’t know that the Mammoth Hot Springs looked different in that short amount of time, that’s so interesting because I really want to like that area but it’s just not as pretty to me as other areas in the park. Thank you for sharing your Yellowstone experiences with us.

I just found your channel, and am really enjoying your videos! Our first trip to Yellowstone was in September 2020 (saw that bear feasting on the elk in the river live too!) and we are returning this September too - it's so cool to see your videos from the same month. I seriously cannot get over how empty the park looks! Your way of traveling is so similar to mine - organized, planned and scheduled with some flexibility. Thanks so much for sharing your adventures!

Thank you so much! I love going in September and avoiding the summer crowds. Hopefully this trip you will be able to drive the Dunraven Pass, I really enjoyed that drive, and I wasn’t able to show it in the video but we finally had a chance to swim in the Firehole River Swim Area now that it’s reopened and while it was colder than I thought it would be, it was a fun experience to have in Yellowstone. Both things I would definitely recommend adding to an itinerary if you have time. I hope you have a great trip and are as successful seeing bears from a safe distance as we were in 2020. -Roxie

I admire you getting up so early. Planning on 8/days in the park in late July. I have been there before but rushed every visit.

Thanks, we get out there so early because like you said we are rushed to see everything. 8 days sounds like it will be a nice a relaxing trip, have a great time!

What time of the year did you go?
@scheduledadventures
@scheduledadventures Год назад
We always go at the end September, and have had great weather, low crowds and a lot of wildlife sightseeings. The only downfall we have had is that some of the parks hotels,restaurants and shops are closing for the season, but that is easy to work around.

Keep in mind…they live there…..You are in their domain….
@scheduledadventures

Yes we are definitely in their domain,and sometimes I think the bison block boardwalks and walk down the middle of the road on purpose, because they are so tired of us humans in their space, and I can’t blame them 😊
