Absolutely love that reel. Hooked up an 80lb black sea bass last week on a colt sniper. Those things pull like a freight train. We luckily got it safely released. Great video. Thanks for posting.

My Lexa 400 is also on a Phenix rod. I have the Black Diamond.

Really can't go wrong with a Lexa for this type of fishing. I've landed 50lb Bluefin on my Lexa 400 WN-PWR with ease. I also have the 8.1 gear ratio Lexa 400 HD that I use for lures mostly colt snipers. Great reel.

It’s an awesome reel. Aesthetically great as well. What rod do you pair it up with?

@@AnhNguyen6 My Lexa 400 PWR is on a Seeker SSR 810-8T with a trigger grip rated 20-40lb. I swear that blank puts a hurting on big fish. I have my high speed Lexa on a 90J for throwing jigs as far as I can.

I would go 50 or 40lb braid for more yardage. At least 300 yards.
@carter7371
@carter7371 4 года назад
Agreed yardage for yellows you won’t be catch much on that reel that’s over 50 so I’d drop to that and keep the 20 yards of mono leader to put less stress on the rod. Great vid tho and tight lines

How do you like that LEXA 400 and Phenix M1 Heavy pairing? I was looking at getting that Phenix and pairing it with the Abu Garcia Revo Beast 40HS
@AnhNguyen6
@AnhNguyen6 4 года назад
Not a big fan of the rod if you're going for yellow or tuna I'd recommend a heavier rated rod. Plus the m1 reel holder is difficult to twist open.

Check out the Phenix axis 780MH it’s rated 20-40lb and is a beast

It’ll work just fine. But comfort wise I’d recommend going to a tackle shop and try it on.

What rod would would you recommend to go on a pisifocun alijoz 300? I’m hoping to use it for yellow tail and yellowfin and blues within the 40 pound range. Do you think a Shimano teramar se would do well?
@AnhNguyen6
@AnhNguyen6 2 года назад
Shimano teramar are good rods. I haven’t used a piscifun reel before so I don’t know the accurate specs on it to give my opinion. 40lb class tuna and yellowtail is no joke. You might want to ask the Deck hand to dial the drag in for you. In my opinion , correct drag is the key to landing the fish . Good luck and hope you have fun fighting those boys!

Are you left handed? Not sure what side to get reel on I’m a righty
@AnhNguyen6
@AnhNguyen6 3 года назад
I am right handed but it feels more natural for me when i reel with my left. BUT from experience, when you are using bigger conventional reels, you want to crank with your stronger arm ( right for me) especially for yellow tail / tuna. In general i use left hand to reel with all my small bait casters and spinning reels. If you watch my other video for the tuna, youll notice i am using right handed reels because those are for the bigger fish. hope this helps.

@@AnhNguyen6 I’ve done some salmon and halibut trolling with smaller conventionals and right felt good but I never tried left so I was just curious. Makes sense though thanks for the response!
