I just got mine, the dial appears more yellow than this video, but still a beautifully designed watch and no QC issues. I changed to a Strapcode mesh strap that tapers from 20mm to 16mm, which really makes the watch wear well.
If you don't know already, you can realign a seconds hand on a chronograph by pulling out the crown all the way and pressing the start pusher. Push the crown back in when you're done.
Thanks for this review. I am an avid watch collector and have always stuck to swiss made watches wherever possible. I understand your frustration .....but...the French are the French and this is part of the appeal about this watch.....I get your frustration but trust me when I purchased the Capt Willard remake from Seiko I shared the same QC frustrations, but for a watch that cost me close to 1300USD. I could put up with this more as its a much better price point and looks to me to be the ultimate 'beta' watch for the office ....I'm definitely pushing the button on one!.. Case shape looks amazing and the leather strap sets it off....Many thanks for a grand review!
Thanks very much and the qc happens, but the thing that did it for me was their awful customer services. Hopefully they've sorted that out since I made this.
I purchased my Yema Rallygraph, Blue dial. I absolutely love it. I too noticed a color difference on the dial being off white from that shown in video. I now wonder exactly what color white is used. Oxford white is my guess. What's yours?
Hi. I had a bladder flush at the hospital today. it was very enjoyable. I've been discharged but I'd like to continue with the flushes at home. I've bought the necessary equipment online, I just need someone to administer the flushes. It's quite simple. I can send you an instructional video. Just practice for a day or so and then we'll arrange a suitable day and time. My name is Derek and I have got a moustache.
Miyota Quartz movement enables fine adjusting of the second, and chrono hands, but i'm not sure this is possible with the Seiko mechaquartz. You pull the crown out to the first or second position, and press one of the pushers, it works on the Miyota
Interesting...I've had to realign the second hand on my Dan Henry and it was really easy, but the minute hand in the chrono sub dial is also way off, any idea how to move that one?
Their customer service sucks and it will take forever for them to ship your watch I had to cancel my order after waiting 2 weeks for watch to ship which it never did.
Using the ST 19 movement is a very good idea, but that would change the sub - dial functions. Great review, cracking watch. Hope Yema sort things out for you!
I understand and I think it could be a good choice but I doubt they'll go for it. Hopefully, I hear back from them tomorrow. So hoping for a replacement or refund.
Found the video!!! You did do a review.. have to watch this! Ok... just watched. A lot of these watches allow you to adjust and fine-tune the hands. You just need to pull out the crown by one, or the second hand, and then when you hit the top or bottom button, it will move forward one of the adjustable hands. Have you tried that?
Regards my last comment, you can't adjust the second using pushers, I was wrong. I will be reviewing mine shortly, and to be honest I absolutely love it
Yeah, I hope I don't have an issue with them, they are renowned for their poor customer service, but that's the French for you. I just finished my review, but won't be uploading it until later in the week.
Yep Lume is average and agreed the lugs do look long, stylish but long, the leather strap option was a good choice. I have a Geckota similar to this with same movement.
Have you ever bought a watch from a dream watchmaker, then been disappointed with it? Well that's my experience with this Yema. Let me know if you've had something similar.
@@WesWatchRoom I was just why was it taking so long for them to ship the watch and as if today they still haven’t I contacted them and told them I wanted to cancel but they said the order will ship out tomorrow but they have been telling me that for a week now but the watch still hasn’t shipped
Hell yes!! Loving the choice on brands - a bit different. Yema an interesting one. I’ve been down a rabbit hole on lip who are based in the same city Besancon
Another great review Wes 👏 Great looking watch. Check the book that came with it for if the position of the chronograph second hand can be reset. Shame the lume wasn’t better, but not too important for this style of watch! Once the chronograph second hand is sorted I think you’ll bond with this beauty!!
Thanks very much mate and I checked the book and it was useless. Tried the suggestions in the link you sent and that didn't work either. Hopefully Yema will sort it for me. Yeah the lume isn't amazing and I wouldn't be that bothered but it looked really good on their site, just doesn't live up to it.
their chronographs are so nice, but $350+ for mineral crystal is a deal-breaker for me. Such a disappointment. The Andretti special edition is one hell of a looker though.
They really are great looking and yeah the price can be a bit much but if you wait until they have a sale then you could get a much better deal. But, if you do buy, just be careful as their customer service is not great.
@@gdawgs101 chronographs are for daily use purposes and mineral crystal is more durable, sapphire is only scratch resist, but it‘s more likely to break
@@Mejdej45 What are you doing with your watches where shattering the crystal is a real concern? It's a vintage style racing chronograph, not a G shock... If you're doing an activity where whacking your watch hard enough to shatter a thick saphire crystal is a possibility, you really shouldn't be wearing that watch in the first place. I've owned many watches for years and I've never broken a crystal. However, every watch I've owned with a mineral crystal has a noticable scratch or two in the crystal.
Just picked one of these up for USD$297 Black Friday sale and I knew about the weak lume. But now I'm waiting nervously to see if mine arrives with the misaligned chrono hand. Did yours ever get warranty swapped/repaired and returned ok? Thanks for the review btw. *edit just saw your follow-up video. Damn, I hope they sent you out a new case.
@@rockyrakovica603 Yema's website on their black Friday November sale. Came with a bonus black rubber strap with a carbon fibre pattern on it too. 6 months later and my other watches are getting jealous with how often I wear it lol. It's on my wrist as I type this message!
@@rockyrakovica603 it looks far more expensive in person btw. I'm wearing this more often than my Swiss and automatic divers it's so nice. I've heard quite a few Yema QC and customer service horror stories though. Buyer beware, but I love mine.
@@WesWatchRoom didn’t know if it would on a mecha-quartz. Sorry, that would irk me too. The VK series movements are great-when they work. You mentioned the Seagull movement and I believe that would be a huge mistake for Yema. It’s junk, to be honest. As for me, the lume wouldn’t not be bothersome as it’s not a diver. I think the only real gripe you should have is that misalignment, but I agree that it needs to be addressed. I ordered the exact watch and it should ship soon-hopefully without the QC issues though!
The chronograph seconds hand not resetting exactly to zero is an annoyance, but strictly speaking is not a QC issue. Since that seems to be the primary driver of your less-than-positive review, you should know that the hands on a quartz watch are powered by stepper motors which can occasionally get bumped out of alignment. Most quartz chronograph movements, including the entire Seiko chronograph range, include a function to re-zero the chronograph hands when this happens. Here's a good video explaining the process. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Fnyk2YE5BX8.html
I don’t call that disappointing I call that a small disability disappointing is when it’s not working correcting or it doesn’t work but you got to choose your battles
Bro, what's disappointing is that you didn't even wipe it off before doing the review, especially in the macro shots. Like, there was dust/dead skin and a white cat hair or something on the crown and pushers. Gross
It happens, we are human, we forget things. It's easily done. And you think this is bad then you should check out some that I've had from ebay. Now that is gross
It's called you get what you pay for I don't know why people expect $5000 watch for $300 never Ceases to amaze me How someone can have so many gripes. If I go down to Ross and buy a Michael Kors watch do I expect to get a Rolex . Come on you're getting a beautiful watch packaged wonderfully And if you didn't like whatever movement that comes with it maybe you should do or one should do their research 1st
For one I never expected to receive a luxury watch at all, nor did I mention anything about that. I also knew what movement it was beforehand, mine was broken on arrival and didn't work correctly. So I should expect a $300 watch to be broken, great logic there.
You made the video a year ago, so you probably know now. Pull the crown out to the second position, press the top button and the second moves. When it gets to the required position push the crown back in, and the second hand is re-set. I agree, it should be worn on a leather strap
Tip on how to make a professional style video. Keep your fingers and hands still. They're very distracting. We're here to look at the watch not your dancing hands. Just keep still and let us concentrate on the watch. Thanks.
