Made me pretty homesick going up the Old Gosford Road - used to be a regular thing for me every few weeks riding my SRX600 back to Gosford from Orange to visit my parents. Grew up on the Central Coast - all around is beautiful.

You’re so lucky to have great riding country like that, and those Jacaranda trees, WOW

Hi Stuart love the relaxed way you present a adding those little details that we see and experience but so often fail to register, I also am waiting for my spare front and rear tubes. I’ve just did the tour of the painted silos here and with a few detours spent three days on the road and the Himalayan didn’t miss a beat and as you mentioned she cruises at 100 beautifully. I picked up a set of those Enfield front dry bags they fitted great and really look the part and a great place to put the morning and afternoon tea gear. Thanks for another great video and looking forward to your next one. Regards David.

Thanks David, I can't wait to get out for another three day ride (or longer!) I'll have to check out the front bags, I can't decide between them or some jerry cans to carry extra water on long trips.

Ok mate...now I really want to get a bike again.. My wife appears to be onboard but wants a bigger boat as well. Oh dear ! The swag I use is a perfect for me as Im 6ft 4 but your looks nice and compact in the other vid I think I may have to get a smaller one for bike trips. Very relaxing vid mate. Certainly takes away the stress watching these adventures. Cheers

Well, the season for riding and boating is upon us... ;) I do really like these swags, they are cheap too at $130.

Hi Stu, loving an Australian enjoying the himalayan. ...... for us aussies there isnt too much owner experiences as yet , mainly india based....... look forward to each and every episode
@DangarMotorcycling
@DangarMotorcycling 6 лет назад
Yeah, the bulk of videos are definitely from India, which I do love because it makes me feel like I am back there when I watch those vids, but I do believe our bikes are different, a sort of BS3 / BS4 hybrid at the moment.

Hi Stuart, quick question... campsites (as in the one you came across opposite the 'off road track' ) are they free in Australia you said there is a supply of wood for the fires in the UK they would charge the earth assuming they would let you have a fire! Oh and PS please don't complain about 40 degrees(sigh) we have a window of about 5 months here which is biking time that's why the missus and i head to Spain and Portugal every year... Oh and hope your foot feels better ....Ride safe pal
@DangarMotorcycling
@DangarMotorcycling 6 лет назад
Hey Ted. Campsites are a mixture of free and charged. They don't tend to be too expensive, about $20 a night if they are charged. Oh, and heading to Spain and Portugal sounds tough. ;)

I really enjoy your videos. I'm seriously considering adding a Himalayan to my present collection of bikes if I can lower the seat at least 1" since I'm short, old and weak. Based on your experience with the bike do you think that would be possible? That 1" lowering, along with my high-soled shoes, will give me enough confidence to ride this bike.

Beautiful scenery. Since you're interested in microphone placement to improve your videos, might be a bit more interesting if you could hear the engine/exhaust more. Not dominating but the Himalayan has a nice thump and it would underscore the dialogue nicely.

Hi buddy it's good to know you are feeling better after the fall. Just wanted to know how is the windshield on Himalayan is it good at deflecting or you recommend an upgrade and the mirror are they good?
@DangarMotorcycling
@DangarMotorcycling 6 лет назад
I'm happy with both windscreen and mirror, but if i was to make a change I would look at some different mirrors first just to get a wider view.

Plenty of HDs here, and I have ridden most of that run on mine. But the road is a bit slippery on a heavy bike. You need to run a bit slower and keep the bike pretty upright (normal slippery surface stuff) HD Heritage Softail 2007.

Yes, as Ron says, Harleys are quite popular in Australia.

And pls Do come up wit a small night ride we would love to see ur auxiliary lights. And in video at mins 11.29 to 12.00 and at 16.00 the camera when focused there are few marks or spots. on it I believe it's dust on lens
@ronpowell2373
@ronpowell2373 6 лет назад
Bugs splattered on lense, a bit hard to get around at this time of year riding in the bush areas.
@DangarMotorcycling
@DangarMotorcycling 6 лет назад
A short night ride is a good idea as I have yet to set up the exact angle on the lights. I've cleaned that lens now, but as Ron says it is hard to keep it clean riding through the bush.

Nice vlog, I acctually wanted a suggestion regarding the handlebar, after crash on my himalayan the handlebar was bent, any ideas how to reinforce the strength to minimise the bending?
@DangarMotorcycling
@DangarMotorcycling 6 лет назад
I have heard people upgrade the handle bars on the Himalayan to a stronger brand, but you can also add a bar like this www.ebay.com/p/Motorcycle-Handlebar-Cross-Bar-Steering-Wheel-Strengthen-Adjustable-Handle-L/12003835729

did you do any damage to your bike when you had your flat tyre.
@DangarMotorcycling
@DangarMotorcycling 6 лет назад
No, no much fortunately. The panniers protected the back and I ended up with just some scratches on the end of the handlebar.

Nice ride.I always think of the guys that cut those roads in the 1800s , the lack of fresh water, the heat and dust and just plain hard work. All those roads built to get around the building of the those road bridges you first crossed in the video. The Hawkesbury River with its tidal range and flow rates, floods etc were a tough obstacle for a long time. For the temp sensor how about finding it and may be fit an oil temp sensor such as www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Car-Oil-Water-Temperature-Temp-Gauge-Sensor-Sender-Probe-1-8NPT-US-/182764891170 + www.ebay.com/itm/Sump-Plug-Sensor-Adaptor-Oil-Temperature-Temp-Gauge-Sender-Def-Prosport-M12x1-75/332432385944?hash=item4d6683a798:g:NZEAAOSwT6pVwN7l&vxp=mtr instead of the sump plug. That would make the gauge useful.
@DangarMotorcycling
@DangarMotorcycling 6 лет назад
I'd like to read more about the history of the area, I'll have to see what I can find. I guess the trick with the temp gauge is to find one that is calibrated the same as the air temp gauge on the bike. Of course having said that, once you know what "normal" is you can just look for sudden increases.
