Yennefer made several great points and I loved that she did not tolerate Ciri’s disrespect of Tissaia. Obviously Ciri doesn’t know Tissaia so it’s understandable that she’s wary of her. She doesn’t have the personal connection to Tissaia like Yennefer does. Despite things having been tumultuous between Yen and Tissaia in the beginning the way they care deeply about each other has always been there.
I loved this scene between the two... Freya stepped up her acting game this season.. Anya never disappoints! But for Ciri and Yen to have this conversation/argument was needed. Ciri sees and is learning both side of the coin. The physical (fighting with Geralt) and the magical side ( mages with Yen) but both Kermora and Auratuza (spelling?) are political in their approach. Yen having to show Ciri apart of herself she use to be when she cared for no one... hurt! To show someone you care about that ugly side of you is heartbreaking... but was needed to get them where they needed to be.. As Yen explains this to Ciri. Yen has changed since being around mages... She knows there more to life now... She has a purpose! Yen can see fully see how they/she use to act and be and it disgusting to her... Ciri not knowing or understanding of this is hard for her to grasp... but will be something she needs to learn.. Yen always said the most important thing they teach you is not about magic but *Manipulation tactics* to make people do what you want them to do... and Yen was/is a master at that... We saw it! She worked everyone around her to get back into Auratuza. Bowing to those she saw unworthy... Ciri looking at it like selling her soul...doesn't know the lengths in which the higher courts act.. Ciri though powerful, a princess and of elder blood... still is very much immature and a teenager unwilling to listen at times, which in her position they cannot afford..
@@j.c108 They are under cover/ in hiding... The only one that knows who Ciri truly is, is Tissaia. Yenn can't act as if Ciri is *special* to her and Ciri cannot act like she is of high status... They've never seen Ciri, so Ciri acting as if them talking about a girl like that upsets her.. There's a reason behind it.. they are also mages who can read thoughts.. The moment Ciri slips up (unable to control her power) their cover is blown. To these women Ciri is a commoner, a slave girl. So that is how she was being treated. Mages were damn near royalty as they were advisors to Kings / Queens. That is exactly how they were acting.. CIri has been away from that for sometime, but that is a look into her life as she saw it.. catty woman, gossiping. Ciri was being spoiled and not understanding the bigger picture. Yenn has to weasel her way back into good graces with these woman and the counsel... She didn't want to, as she's out grown that crap. But understands the game and how it's played. This is what Ciri was needing to understand. Geralt's world and hers are not the same, polar opposites of one another.. Ciri needed to get a grip..
@@ciri9142 I don't get it... Do you not feel she is right for Ciri or do you not like her acting ability? I think she got a lot better this season than in S1 (just her running around acting scared) but definitely S2. She was reminding me of Kristen Stewart... and she is horrible actress IMO. But Freya stepped it up S3 I have to give it to her.. I'm now seeing Freya as Ciri now.. took 3 seasons but I like her Ciri now.. Anya never fails in the acting category IMO.. She kills it every season. Yen has been my favorite character since S1. Even over Henry, but he is amazing of course..
Freya and Anya really great chemistry on screen, even when they're given lacklustre dialogue they still turn it into an amazing scene. Really blown away by Freya's work, she went into the witcher with not a lot of screen experience but went and really left her mark on the role. As flawed as this adaptation can be at times at least they chose the perfect ciri (in my opinion) (also Anya cannott be topped as Yen IMO)
Even if Ciri should be more careful and not very entitled in their mission to Aretuza Yennefer’s behaviour was not right either. I mean, it’s true, Ciri needs to learn the evil of this world but would really Yennefer let Tissaia Ciri and turn her into an eel? And then Yennefer says that Ciri does not know of power hungry @holes? Ciri is the one who lost everything due to power hungry @holes, her life, her family, everything and now Yen will lecture her about this? Yennefer’s ending up without a womb is of her own choosing. I believe that yes Ciri was a little spoiled but she’s young, still learning and this is the way she grew. Yennefer is mean and aggressive in her own choosing in there.
And yet Yen was so cold and dignified and mysterious in the books... not arguing and yelling with Ciri like older sister would do. She seemed to be superhuman in everything for Ciri. This is so out of character... glad I stopped watching the series 😅
Yen didn't treat Ciri shitty. Also how else was she supposed to treat Ciri. Their undercover. These are Mages whom never met Ciri and can read minds. If Yan treated Ciri any different than she did. The other mages would've gotten suspicious. Ciri is acting like a spoiled princess. When she should've been acting the opposite. She needed to understand that mages and witchers worlds are not the same.
@@ericasharp1872 i disagree with everyone saying ciris behavior was spoiled. Nothing about ciri is spoiled lol. she knows her worth. I understand their world is different, but even servants should be treated with respect. These girls were horrible and I was also disgusted with Yen
@@ForceInEvHorizon tbf they did make Jaskier kiss a man for the views. They also made Yen and Ciri melee fighters. And Witcher og book series is very progressive itself. Yennefer and Ciri are badass in the books and there is gay characters. But they kept going more woke until they pissed off Henry. Now the series will go broke because of it.
