Tim de Visser So true. The sad fact is, people, who were neglected and/or abused as kids almost always end up with very hard to overcome psychological damage. Doesn’t matter, what they ‚achieve‘ later in life, it won’t lead to self love or acceptance, as long as that inner damage is there.

@@raraavis7782 That's facts. And I feel like Yennefer's arc is about that. That's what I mean when I say Yen is a strong character. It's not about 'overcoming disability' (whatever the fuck that's not a thing), about magic or sex or even the love of men and babies. It's about healing through self love and I want that for Yennefer so badly.

The problem is that Istred was right. Nothing can make you feel worthy or worthwhile, and everything one chases in pursuit of such things are ultimately vanity and transient.

Charles Grande No shit! That's not the point. If you are using on-screen type to highlight important parts of the speech that's great. I actually loved the way they used it in the video. Ok, there are auto-generated captions that usually tell you what they are saying correctly. But the things you miss when you can't hear voices clearly are the small nuances of human emotion and communication. That's what I'm talking about. For ME PERSONALLY, I thought the levels could have worked better in a different way. That doesn't mean I don't like it or think others should agree with me. So don't treat me like an idiot.

But that's the point of her arc. Even after she was transformed she was still unsatisfied. And she continues to be. That's why she tried going back to Istredd, cause he loved her even before her transformation, and that's why she wanted a child later on, to be important to someone. Because her problem wasn't her being disfigured, it was her lacking love for herself and only realizing later that power and beauty gave her none of that

Guess its true its part of her story, that beauty is not everything. But it sure improved her life lol
