Her scars were her own choice. It shows she wants to have control. The same reason why she wants to regain her womb, she wants to have a choice.

If I had the choice, I would keep my scars. They show that I am strong and have made it through hell.

I kinda love the fact that a lot of witcher fans hated yennefer because they think she was "arrogant and entitled" because that's exactly what the author was trying to achieve when he created her. He didn't want her to bow down to the societal standards of how a lady should act. If yennefer was a man, she would be called ambitious and resourceful. but hey, since she's a woman, sure let's call her arrogant and entitled.

@@misssteak1290 Honestly, YES. She is amazing. I've seen people say she is second to Daenarys, but no. In my book, Yennefer is the most powerful, went through the most, learned the most, and pulled through. She bettered herself at every turn, and refused to be beat down.

I kinda cried when I read your comment.. ? Can't really describe it. I just finished the show and I agree with your words. She's the perfect example how a person can fight out of misery and just take the next step and jump into the unknown and goddamn OWN it.

I agree with most of what you said, except that part "Leave past behind". She didn't want to forget the pain and suffering she endured - hence she wanted to keep the scars when her body was being transformed.

@@jessness13 She got her powers from her familys blood. Her great grandma I think it was, was a super powerful mage like Yen but much stronger. The powers can skip generations as said in the show. She can't harness all of her powers, at least not yet, but she is basically God. She learns some magic, can instantly teleport to different worlds and she can time travel at will, plus eventually she learns to sword fight like Geralt. Combine all that together and you get a complete bad ass. She is the lady of space and time. So if there were a group of guys she had to fight she could take them all out in the blink of an eye, or if she had an enemy, instead of fighting them she could go back in time and kill their parents before the enemy was even born, or if someone was sick she could go in the future and get modern medicine. The possibilities are basically endless. The bad guys want to use her as a weapon to take over all the land and have complete control. Season 1 of the netflix show has barely scratched the surface of the complete story.

Some of them are right. She is astonishing in the screen, her performance is magnificent. That’s true. YET..She is not the Yen they imagine..or have seen through the games or books. That’s all. The cast must not be only talented but also fitting. And no, I ain’t gonna say the forced diversity thingy, cause the Yen I know from the games is sth different from the one in the series. A more..cutie version I prefer to say.

@@umbraaries its been 1 season. Let her character evolve before you judge her. I think shes had a dominating performance on par with Cavill and we couldnt ask for more. The softer side of her is something Geralt and Ciri bring out but season 1 shows that the shit she went through wouldve killed a weaker person.

A series I didn’t really want to see cause of the image I had created from the games. But the fact that she has talent doesn’t actually mean that she is fitting. I still prefer the games’ picture on them, however, because it was my very first contact to the Witcher series, plus Netflix...ugh...Anyways, let me get this more clear and understandable. Would you like to see Robert De Niro taking the role of Superman instead of Henry? He is an indeed talented actor, but would you like that?
