@@ApexGale I don't think a level 3 special's purpose is to lock down an enemy for chip damage with a resource not exclusive to the character. It is more of a "It is not good for anything else" kinda scenario, they were kinda afraid Ouroboros would be as oppressing as in MVC2 that they over nerfed it.
Swiss Cheese is a bad move, but it’s a lifesaver against my biggest matchup which is Haggar’s wonky aerial hitboxes. Once I do Swiss Cheese it cuts em out and they don’t know what to do
@@GarethXLtag game isn't that crazy but people are also pretty excited for the two new tag fighters coming out and people did like DBFZ when it came out.
Every now and then, I rewatch the Vergil 1v3 clip where the guy loses Dante and Wesker right out the gate, then immediately cleans house with Vergil in 19 seconds.

One of my favourite Evo moments is Justin beating Chris G's ridiculously oppressive Morrigan/Doom/Vergil without much issue. He completely downloaded him.
As a certain badger once said: "I am convinced 49 characters in this game suck because 49 characters are not named Vergil." I realized that the reason Vergil is so broken is similar to why Bayonetta was so broken in Smash 4. It’s because the designers made him way too similar to the source material, making him a combo machine with insane attacks,
@@paulakroy2635 To be fair, Virgil has such insane versatility compared to Bayonetta, and the difference in power level between him and the bottom tier is far more drastic than Bayo and Smash 4's bottom tiers
@@paulakroy2635 You still had Jigglypuff players in Smash 4 despite her being bottom 1, though she was also a fringe-case character. The other 3 in the bottom-most tier still had some semblance of representation before Ultimate came around and stole basically all of its playerbase. Even so, I'd argue that Virgil is more powerful than UMvC3's bottom tiers than Bayonetta is to Smash 4's bottom tiers.

On a somewhat related note, Phoenix might be the best example ever of how low health doesn't always balance a character. You look at Phoenix too hard and she dies, but Lv.3 X-Factor Dark Phoenix can sweep a team before X-Factor runs out.
My BIGGEST Hopium after they show us the Collection trailer again with a release date is to end it with a black screen with a special effect transition showing #/MvC4 🤞🏼😭🤞🏼.
proof that a fighting game doesnt have to be even close to balanced to be an all time great. just needs to be a mechanically deep game that looks good and is fun to play
Ultimate Marvel 3 is a frustrating broken and unforgiving title and yet… I love this game, it’s easily one of my favorite fighting games ever made. The more you play practice and realize your tiniest of mistakes the game is stupidly rewarding. There is NO shortage of creativity and fun here. Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is beautiful, fast has one of the best rosters for a Capcom fighting game in my opinion, and gives you so many tools to work with and experimentation for days that make it not just enjoyable to play but just fun to talk about.
Ah, the days of SF4 and MvC3. A time where I was hyped to play fighting games, Max was doing Assist Me, and weekly eps of Excellent Adventures. 'Twas a beautiful time.
There's another way to fix broken roster balance: Make the entire roster as equally OP as their playstyle can, that way their good player skill will be a key enough to counter the said "roster balance" issue Just look at Dota 2, anime 2d fighting games, Honor of Kings, etc Edit: One more thing, what I mean is this is not the other way around like where one broken kit/ability/interaction is limited to only one or few characters that the rests haven't (like TAC Infinites, broken frames, Phoenix with X Factor, and of course, Vergil himself) Edit 2: If you read this comment this far, specially this video too, remember to go to description and check the video we and Max reacts
I been playing TvC recently and all I could think about is how Vergil just has alot of karas normal which makes me curious of who’s more broken between arcade TvC karas and Vergil
I love UMVC3, honestly when this game came out. I never stop playing it! Even if my friend picks Vergil all the time, I'll always find a way to beat it with a Haggar, Wolverine, or Spider-Man! Glad Marvel vs. Capcom is back! I'm excited for the fighting collection!
