Jon Davison has a nice voice. But for Yes music, it falls in the "uncanny valley" for me. If they could find someone who sounds exactly like Jon Anderson, that could work. Or if they could find someone (probably a female singer) with the same vocal range but with a completely different voice from Jon Anderson, that could work too. But Davison is in that in-between place, where he sounds too much like Jon Anderson to provide a nice contrast to Anderson's voice, but not enough like Jon Anderson to sound right. So I'm left with the perception that I'm hearing a poor imitation of Jon Anderson's voice -- even though as I said, Davison has a nice voice.
