Always loved your videos OZ; not only because they focus on the budget aspect, but because I find them relaxing to watch. Thank you for your content; we budget gamers need you.
"A good desk will last you forever" oh boy I learned that the hard way when I first made my setup. I bought a cheap office desk from office depot and not even a year later the fake wood finish was peeling off 😭 I'm gonna reference this video when redoing my setup, you've never led me astray with your wisdom before
Just want to say thank you for the value content. Not everyone wants to pay $3000 dollars for a monitor or $300 for a keyboard. Thanks again and keep up the great work!!!
Personally if it's a budget setup i wouldn't spend money on a headset stand since it's purely for esthetic. And would balance the monitor with the computer. If you want a budget setup you probably have a budget pc, not always a too budget but something like that. I would have choosen a 165hz screen for around 150.@@gigimerebashvili2728
Actually budget keyboards are so easy to build like the leobog hi75 is a 75 Alu keyboard with a knob and it cost like 60 bucks 30 if you can get someone to ship from china and if you want to go akko YIU can go with the monsgeek m1 which is also a 75 alu keyboard but 100 bucks
Even tough I have a big exam in 2 days and is anxious as fuck, this video just relaxed the hell outta me, his voice, the music, the editing, the lighting, ugh everything is just perfect, I think this also just increased my attention spam a little bit too. Amazing.
there is a $25 monitor stand that optimum tech reviewed i think you should consider adding this to your set up budget friendly and it makes the setup even better, also gives you more room on your desk. I bought it and it replaced my $50 dual monitor arm stand
i really love you vidoes and recomondations, but what is missing for me is a monitor arm. it makes such a big difference, and they start at relatively affordable prices, and make your setup much more organized and flexibile. (got mine for about 30$)
I have the black HS80. I love it! Upgraded from a Logitech A10. Idk why, but people were saying the A10s were so comfy, but they were incredibly stiff and creaky. Def not for black women with protective hair styles. HS80 changed the game for me. So comfortable, incredible sound, easy adjustment, good quality, and excellent wireless connection. Cosair might have me if I can replace my razer stuff. Can you do a video reviewing and recommending the best corsair keyboard and mouse? I absolutely love your content! Look forward to your next post. Merry Christmas! 🎄
What a chilling build video. I'm from Europe, so those Bestbuy deals won't get me anywhere, however, I love the simplicity of that setup for how inspiring it is, backed up by the music and the soft tone you put in you voice while speaking. Speaking of that actually, thanks for including a mic test. It sounds really good to me and certainly better than my G433's and G435's.
It’s such a relief to watch your videos that focus on budget and great alternatives compared to others that cover the tech scene. Have you mentioned before what you’re going to school for?
Great video Oz. This is also something I always recommended to my friends and family. If you wish your desk/computer to look nice, just buy the eye candy items. I.e. a new good looking PC case for your old components, RGB for the light show 😄or some new peripherials. Its really simple some time. You should 've also mentioned to visit the hardware store and buy some cable management tools for hiding the cables under the desk. *Everything* has to be looking good. :-)
Great video. My setup consists of a $50 desk from Amazon, a 27", 75 Hz monitor that I found on my local OfferUp for $60, a $20 keyboard, a mouse and mousepad that were $10 each, speakers that cost $15, and a $20 webcam. I got my chair for free.
7:22 .... "your living and working space should serve as an expression of yourself". I 100% agree...after building my own PC (using advice from your channel) I have begun changing up how I use my desk space and rearranging things to better suit my use case and needs. My next goal will be repotting all my plants to increase desk space for a compact MIDI keyboard enhance my desk space into a home recording setup on top of being a gaming and productivity workstation...KEEP IT UP OZ!!!!
The keyboard I got is the Magegee 100 key mechanical keyboard. Currently goes for 32 bucks. The keyboard has good lighting options, a long wire, and comes w/ a num-pad, alternate keys for important keys (enter, arrows, etc), and a keycap remover. Also, for headphone guys who don't care about mics, The audio technica ath-M30x have been my daily driver for years at this point. Solid craftsmanship, very transportable since they can fold and have a black leather carrying bag, so if you do a lot of travelling or laptop work, they're convienent to move around. They're also not modular (wired only), but higher grade models are.
Wow, the headset microphone quality is actually impressively good. If I hadn't already got a headset to use, I might consider those. Super chill video :D
As someone who knows mechanical keyboards, brown switches seem to be the most common for good reason, even I like the fact I can get a keyboard with brown switches and just use it for basically anything. Yet to see one fail either.
PSA to probably skip on that external ssd, seems like the following drives were affected by some bad firmware (some saying that the firmware update didn’t resolve the issue either): SanDisk Extreme Portable 4TB (SDSSDE61-4T00) SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable 4TB (SDSSDE81-4T00) SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable 2TB (SDSSDE81-2T00) SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable 1TB (SDSSDE81-1T00) Western Digital My Passport 4TB (WDBAGF0040BGY).
You are the most relaxing and informing youtuber i have ever watched, you have the most soothing voice, and greatest personality. Not to be weird, Amazing content ❤
would recommend against any 27 inch 1080p panels, they look TERRIBLE! The Samsung monitor also wasn't a great pick because for 200 bucks you can get a Dell g2524H, which has an overclockable 240hz panel, and a fast ips 25 inch display. Also where's the mousepad oz? (yes ik this was a best buy sponsor but this is for anyone trying to copy this setup video)
Tbh you could even go way cheapero for some peripherals. I use a 10€ keyboard and a 6€ mouse which works fine for me. The monitor is around the same price as yours but 37” ultrawide and only 100hz and 1440p. Which i think its great when you wanna have just 1 monitor. I will upgrade the mouse next month because i play a lot of cs2 now but my current kne has served me well since 2017 so i cant complain
You gave me a lot of good vibes! (maybe not the best expression/word), like, I would love to take a cup of tea with you!, keep up with the nice content :)
Love the vids man , becuse of you I've gotten game pass and have not upgrade my pc even though I want to , my pc was 500 with out the gpu the close to 900 becuse I got a rtx 2060 to go with my i310100f cpu back during the end of the gpu chip shortages , but I feel like I'm set for what I do , becuse I game more on my modern and retro consoles , but having a pc of some decent spec is good for what I mostly do which is music production woth gaming on the side
When i think budget a 150$ headset and a monitor light isnr something i consider at all. I just hammered a desk with spare pine and dumped my pc on it.
Like the style and your usual excellent video making ability but this video plays just slightly too much like an ad. There's not enough reasoning or info given about the products. For example, CRI and temperature are important for the light bar, especially if one wants to use it to light themselves for a camera as suggested. A headset stand seems out of place, considering you're a budget channel and that's $20 for a hunk of plastic. As for the portable SSD, You can get cheaper AND smaller by going DIY. Get an NVMe drive and find an enclosure with the RTL9210B controller. If you want super small, get a 2230 like the SN740 with a 2230 or 2240 sized enclosure. And a note on the mouse: I don't have that exact model, but I have a similar one (G502 I think). It suffers from the dreaded Logitech "doubleclick issue." The mouse switches are soldered on and the enclosure is actually designed not to be put back together so if you do fix it yourself, the scrollwheel gets permanently screwed. Find a mouse with hot-swap switches. You'll thank yourself in 2-6 years depending on how many button presses you do per day. I have a gladius II now and am almost ready to swap to my third set of switches (aim down sights in games is no longer holding consistently), and recently swapped out my scroll wheel encoder for the second time.
hey oz been lookin for a really good cpu/gpu combo for 500 dollars. Preferably Nvidia if the cards are close to perfomance but i do know amd has a better price/preformance.
(right now im in uni and have a monitor conneceted to my mac and play on ge force nows pirity teir which usually gives me a 2080 or 2080 super gpu) so looking for omsehting that can beat that gpu
Looking strictly at new parts, the RX 6750XT is about $350. This would leave $150 for a Ryzen 5 5600 on AM4, or i5-12400F on LGA1700. If you’re willing to buy used, the RTX 3070 can be found around $300-$350.
clean but a monitor desk mount can go along way, give's more desk room, makes more space from you and the monitor, as well as being able to run cable Managment through some!
What are your thoughts on an i7-4790 and GTX 1660 super It also has 16 gb ddr3 (old Mobo so only ddr3) 500 watt TT smart PSU 1 TB ssd. I will be on mostly 1080p. Good combo?
I'd also recommend getting something to put your PC on instead of putting it on the ground if you dont want to end up with a dust magnet ! A desk that is at least 120cm in length (I personally have a 140cm and everything fits even with full size keyboard) would be nice to be able to fit your case alongside the rest especially if you made a build that looks good. That would be unfortunate to just hide it under your desk and let it gather dust.
love almost all the selection... except for the scandisk drive... they had tons of quality issues lately. Why not build a NAS with one of the OLD game PCs? a couple of HDDs and TrueNAS and no more need for external drive
Please do not buy one of those portible ssds. Buy an m.2 enclosure and a seperate m.2 ssd. This solution is cheaper and more flexible, cause you can swap ssd down the road
