Questo pezzo mi piace ancora adesso a 40 anni di distanza, con l'assolo di Chris Squire al basso, e la presenza di Trevor Horn e Geoff Downes( gli ex Buggles) , in formazione, fantastici
Had beers w/ Geoff after a show….my friend and I walked up to him and started singing "Into the Lens" very badly of course and he cracked up laughing…he invited us to sit and drink…...
As a Yes fan, I like any combination of musicians. But with Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes, I love this whole album. This song in particlular is awesome. The absolute killer bass playing by Chris Squire is, in my opinion the best I've ever heard from any group and any song.
"Drama" is a really good album, but I kind of see it as a build up for the coming explosion of pop/prog that was Asia and the reformed Yes of 90125. Younger people may not realize how big it got. You couldn't go ANYWHERE in the summer of 82' without hearing Asia. And you couldn't go anywhere in 83'/84' without hearing 90125.
Pezzo storico che nel '80 ha giustamente avuto un enorme successo. Proprio in questi giorni me stavo riascoltando con piacere "Drama" e oggi la notizia della morte di Alan... mi spiace tantissimo....
I've seen some criticism of the video in the comments. I think it is a very unique and entertaining video. This is my favorite Yes song. It's the first song I purchased on original iTunes. Peace
Ok. Here's my comment: I don't give a fuck about anybody says about this song. I was a 13 years old teen in 1980 and this track blew up my brain to heaven; and today in 2022 I still feel the same.
Que gran tema de YES , la parte final es increible , la banda sonando a full , los arreglos geniales y el bajo de Chris Squire ....dan ganas de que la cancion no termine nunca !!
I've watched fan made music videos, and some were crappy in my opinion. This one is absolutely awesome, since I saw some clips from other videos, including "It Can Happen", which is like a flash forward, since Trevor Horn would produce 90125 a few years later in 1983!!
Love this song. The Drama album is so underrated. The whole band sounded great on this album, and Horn did a fine job on vocals. He was no Jon Anderson, but he did put his own very worthy stamp on the bands sound. Drama is certainly better than Tormato, its predecessor.
Is this an official video clip or something con brio home made ? Still in my top 10 of Yes songs, the instrumental outro is really nice, with that bass line !
Thanks for putting this out there. An underrated album to be sure. Let me just toss this out there, and I must say I have no agenda or especially strong feelings on this, but is this actually a "Yes" album? Just wondering.
I only have one question.... what in the heck are the actual words coming out of Trevor Horn's mouth that keep being repeated from his first scene in this video? Not the song lyrics overdubbed, but the actual words that are coming out of his lips in the visual? Funny!
This video is a meatloaf made of other stuff. Great song but the video is just a bunch of clips from other stuff stitched together. Sad really. Such a great band with a great song.
"Drama" was a really strange Yes album. I thought I was listening to the demos for three different albums: the first "Yes-West" album 90125), the first Asia album, and the long lost third Buggles album. But never once did I think this was Yes. Don't get me wrong; I thought "Drama" was a good album. It just wasn't a very good Yes album. In fact, if they'd left the Yes name off of it altogether, it may have sold better in the US... Of course, that's my own opinion. True Yes fans probably hate this only slightly less than Rabin-era Yes...
Except for when 'Drama' was released in 1980 you would have had no knowledge of '90125' or "Asia". . . And only the only the most musically hip in the UK were aware of a fairly obscure band called "The Buggles" in 1980.
I agree. The problem is once you try to be what you aren´t. So, as YES is mainly JON + CHRIS, if one of them is missed, you cannot say that this work is a "YES ALBUM". Same happens right now. I am not willing to listened this proposal, even though I could eventually do so if the called themselves as "SQUIRE & Company" for instance. With this same staff, I surely'd purchase the album. :- ))
