Hi hey hello tis i 👋🏻 thank you very much for watching this very belated video in which i discuss 15 books read during feb. I sank my teeth into quite a few books that are indeed worthy of their hype, and books i have hot takes on, including being wild by being a loneliness denier and otherwise karening for a bit, for which i truly apologize. I can't tell you how happy it made me to see a new video from you. I've been forlornly checking your channel every few weeks so it's a joy to see you back. Hope you are feeling better and you are happy to be back. I'm 'reading' The Rainbow by D. H. Lawrence but struggling slightly with so I'm actually re-reading Sense and Sensibility.

Omgg what an incredibly kind thing to say and it makes the hrs of struggling with video editing feel so worth it thank you ❤️ I am definitely due for a sense and sensibility reread!! I was really enjoying my austen rereads via audiobooks last year! Need to pick that up!!

Welcome back 🎉! I got so excited when I saw your thumbnail pop up! This was such a treat to watch w my morning coffee! I have heard so many horror stories about child actors that I feel like it just shouldn’t be a thing anymore?!?! Loved Sophie’s lil book letter to you. You guys are precious!! Aciman is such a horny writer 😂 - I read Call Me By Your Name earlier this year (it was a buddy read) and I was surprised by how exquisitely crafted it was! You’re right.. 17-year-old me woulda eaten that shit up 😂 Aaaand I also have to start my Morrison journey! Kat’s vid has motivated me too, so maybe next month I’ll start with Sula 👀 Always a pleasure!!

I so hope you will stick with making videos! I adore the way you talk about books, and your reading taste is very similar to mine. Plus, your fabulous lipstick collection is a huge bonus for watching (maybe you can link each one in the show notes?). I'm in the same position you were in before February with The Bluest Eye. I want to start at the beginning, but I don't dare touch it as I know it will be really hard reading. I think you've convinced me to finally tackle it. Welcome back!

Kat you just might be surprised by how intuitive a heti experience can be. Definitely hop on that bandwagon. And on the other side of my particular pendulum is romantic comedy and curtis sittenfeld as a whole and she’s so much fun too! 🙆🏻‍♀️

We missed you! Haha I agree about being too old for Aciman although like you said if I'd read him in my 20s I would have made his books my whole personality 😂. Your experience of enjoying hate-reading Weyward is valid-- I pretty much just did the same with Fourth Wing. I recently finished Earthlings which bowled me over in the best way, but I wonder if your experience with it would be similar to Beautyland? Now I'm actually curious about Beautyland. Anyway welcome back!!

Hmmm i have been curious about earthlings because maybe culturally i might find it cuter and that could sway me more 🤔 it is definitely on my radar! If you’re beautyland curious then definitely go for it! I didn’t think it was *bad* just not for me and there are plenty of ppl who hard disagree with me 😅 lol i love watching fourth wing/acotar reviews and want to read them eventually but definitely must do so in the right mood! I have to read jazz and then beloved and then that joanna biggs book!! Urf idk if i should read intermezzo like after i finished beautiful world i threw the book across the room stared into the wall and quietly sobbed feeling horny and told myself NO MORE but you said it’s looking like a departure from her normal stuff so im like hrmmmm should i be tempted once again 🤔

Glad to see you back! I felt exactly the same about Weyward. I dnfed it about 60 pages in because I couldn't deal with how overdone it was. Like "oh, another ominous bird" 🤣

I just read Romantic Comedy for the first time and I loved it! Then I read Prep and that was great too, Sittenfeld writes characters so well. Would you recommend any of her other books?

Hadley!!! Big sittenfeld fan here so i rec literally everything she’s written. I consumed them all via library audiobook and they’re all really fun and easy to listen to. Prep is my fav but i have a soft spot for romantic comedy as it was my gateway sittenfeld. I suggest American Wife as your next!
