Hinduism is just like open source software. We can change and modify it time to time. But still core principle are exist..I enjoy Hinduism in my every day life. It's doesn't force me to follow the one specific way to find the truth.
I think Hindu science is fun! When I practice Dhyanam and I can observe the movements of Vayu inside my body, when I predict something based on the rule of Karma and it happens, when I reshape modern scientific observations according to Hindu science it is quite a fun experience.
Vijayan A Yes , it can also happen because of that. But, i think you are illiterate about prana-vayu. Well, most living organisms including humans have that. Its called respiration in english. Its a process by which we take in air, (most times through nostrils and sometimes through mouth) and use this to oxygenate the blood and inturn produce energy required for sustaining life and again, expel the remnants through nostrils or mouth and this cycle repeats until you can no longer be called living. Also, it seems that your experience with potato consumption has made you an authority so as to advise others.
Undeniably true....Hinduism is vibrant, dynamic, enchanting, lively, empowering, upbeat with spiritual uplifting energies.......2 Billion people can't be wrong.........way way ahead of so many weird and wacky ones out there who are dying with self inflicted suppressive moans, staring at a rotten tissue roll.........LOL. Thank you
Attukkal Bhagawathy temple of Kerala organizes a Pongala festival which is the world's largest women-only gathering. The women cook pongal on assigned spaces at the sides of the street. Once the cooking is done, the women march in unison, dancing all the way to the temple and offer the cooked pongal to Goddess Bhagawathy. Men are not allowed on the streets and vehicles are banned for the entire day in a large number of streets. This is considered by many women in Kerala as a unique celebratory gathering of women only which is a lot of fun.
The "Tri - Dev" - "Brahma , Vishnu & Shiv" get their powers from "Shakti" a " FEMALE " . I wonder, why are females considered inferior by many Hindus' in India :-(
@@CPatwal The main reason the Indian parents up to our generation are clearly more partisan towards male children is the medieval development of Hinduism in the face of influence of foreign misogynistic cultures, several invasions where the most vulnerable in the family would be daughters and their violation causing grievous pain to parents. I am not supporting the medieval development of HInduism nor I am being sympathetic to parents who instead of protecting their girl children went ahead and blamed their misfortune of having a girl child which is appalling. This is a widely accepted theory that ancient Hinduism was very progressive and very gender neutral whereas medieval practices in Hinduism could hardly be justified as progressive. You can read several articles on this. Invasions and violation of women during invasions and inability of Indian men to protect themselves or their women is the main reason for this. As a results people in states facing the brunt of invasion i.e., western border states in India of Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana became the most regressive when it came to treatment of women. If you remember a sting operation was done in Rajasthan where most doctors were willing to do the illegal gender identification test of foetus and even were prepared to abort if the child was female for good money. The doctors were found so evil in Rajasthan that many told in the sting operation that they would lie that the child is girl even though it is a boy just to get money for abortion! All this is mentioned in Aamir Khan's Satyameva Jayate episode on infanticide/feticide. Go and check if you don't believe me. Also, the same episode says Punjab and Haryana have the least sex ratio (number of females over males) in India . Rajasthan was also famous for its Sati pratha. Do you think it is a coincidence that the states that faced the brunt of foreign invasions are the ones that are most regressive to female children today? Again, I am not justifying their attitude of victim blaming but I am only pointing out the reality.
@@ranjandutta4389 I know. Also, the number of temples where women only are allowed are more than the number of temples where men only are allowed. There is also temple in Tamil Nadu where only trans people are allowed. Ye,, it is the Hindu men who bear the brunt of the misogyny flak and allegations.
@@chbilly4465 it is a well thought out bid to negatively portraythe dharmic traditions but most people especially the dharmic women know the truth of their cultural practices.
Hinduism is really a way of happy, healthy living. Here we are given vedas, puranas, ithihasas for the benifits of human beings to live mentally and physically healthy. Here we respect everything which is better for the sake of the people. Om Namah shivaya
Very nice program. Being a Hindu never think in this easy way as you narrated. Your last word about learning from each other is the essence of Hinduism.
Shawn cool shirt . OK what is fun 1-interacting with my friends at the temple 2-festivals 3- dancing 4- volunteering at the temple 5- yes we gotta do that peeps, esp those of who are retired and have more time. 6-YATRAS!!! Some other things are maybe not exactly fun in the classic sense of the word, but VERY interesting such as learning from the Vedas and Upanishads listening to the words of gurus, discussing our beliefs with other Hindus, reading BLOGS and listening to gurus like Shawn!!
Durga Puja man...Durga puja. It has transcended all religious borders here in Bengal.Today its more of a culture/carnival.Not only hindus, loads of muslims swarm the streets of kolkata eating, enjoying and ofcouse watching the exquisite piece of artwork that modern Durga puja pandals represent. You will never realize, every bengali wait for Durga puja(those 5 days) for an entire year.
Being in Satsang is true divine happiness, bliss and fun. Music is God/Bhagawan (Nada Brahm) and clapping/singing brings enjoyment to the soul. Jai Shri Krishna!
Great job Bhaiya! Looking forward to jag (yajna) since I was a little kid and hearing the leelas and bhajans is something which has enabled me to have the divine experience of my own. Listening to sohar on Janamashtmi or Ramnaumi gives one a completely different way to experience once you've fasted and meditated all day on Satchitanand brings immense joy. Jai Shri Ram Bhaiya! Thanks once again for your great work.
“Anna-kut” a festival where we offer 108 veg items to Lord Krishna & later eat it as a Prasad ...Kritan is fun to me as well en bengali Durga Pujas where we roam around entire 6 days the whole city watching various Ma Durga pendals en eat a lot of yummy food ... 😜😜😌😌
Have you heard of Durga Puja??? Come to Kolkata in dussera for 10 days.... The city will show you what a festival really looks like and what's enjoyment. Just don't come alone and make at least one Bengali friend... "The city of Joy" Dances at its most with Durga Puja,
Hello Shawn. Loved your very vibrant and youthful take on Hinduism. I am a Bengali Hindu from Kolkata, India. Just wanted to share a thought. One one the most profound and also fun elements of Hinduism are the yoga sadhanas. These are the various methods of inner discipline to achieve excellence as spiritual beings. The fun part is that there are sadhanas for human beings of every temperament. For the emotional ones we have the Bhakti Yoga. For the intellectuals we have the Gyana Yoga. For the physically tenacious we have the Karma Yoga. And for those who want to play with and streamline their inner energies to attain the ultimate, we have the Raja Yoga. Even for those who want to concentrate almost entirely on their physical aspect, we have the Hatha Yoga. So it's a religion of "pick what excites you or inspires you".
I find it very fun to learn that Hinduism is not homophobic. I adore the fact that Some Hindu Diety are sometimes able to switch gender, or be both gender, or even no gender at all. and that there is a Goddess for Transgender, .it's really fun for me to be part of this vast and amazing religion/Culture, that is excepting to of LGBT ( or at least exception of Transgender if not other of LGBT)..., AND it's fun too that we can dance for the Lord to worship , etc
Spirituality , festival, freedom, rituals, traditional music and dance, above all no slavery no command . Only Life and love. Divinity is living in reality. From birth to death just celebration of life. And play your role in universal drama with gracefully. AUM thath sath. 🙏
rajakhawar8 Caste system is something hindu scriptures haven't even mentioned, while varna is a different concept.Even krishna spoke of the varnas in bhagavat gita.If you go by the caste system prevalent these days , krishna is technically from a lower caste(yadav),and yet , he is revered as the incarnation of God. There are gunas: sattwa, rajas, and tamas.A man is called brahmana ,Kshatriya, vaishya or shudra based on the presence of these gunas on a person's character.Anyone willing enough can be a brahmin, as proven by the examples of vishwamithra, sage parashara etc.Likewise , though one is brought up a brahmin, he can follow the dharmas of the lower varnas, like the case with parashuram(he became a Kshatriya though he was brought up a brahmin). Each varna has their own significance in society, not just brahmin. For your information, irrespective of birthplace or region every working society has these four varnas. These mishaps are the results of interference from both foreign and domestic forces. But , we are recovering from it. Many reformers and thinkers such as swami vivekananda, dayanand saraswathi, sri narayan guru etc have reestablished and revived the essence of sanathana dharma to a great extant from an era of darkness.Today many temples have priests from lower castes. Whatever doubts you have has been debunked by people like rajiv malhotra, and that too, with evidence .
Freedom to be yourself, tolerance towards everyone and pluralism are what make Hinduism fun! As a Hindu i can individualize my faith. What can be more fun than that!
Shawn, i think the food is very delicious during pooja and festivals. All these Vratas and Tithis are very awesome. We are the part of the ocean i.e Hinduism which is great and fun!
@@winstonbachan9229 Hey i found your comment in many videos..I always wonder where are you from. today i know where you are from...love you brother.. Is this guyana in south america?
The music, even non-devotional music, and ragas are fun, my boyfriend likes when I play ragas and other traditional music. For some, like myself, don't have the funds for evrything in an elaborate puja, or even get around to learning and performing them, but research in general is something I enjoy, however, heavy play in videogames has made it harder for me to want to read again, so been on RU-vid for it. Just discussing Hinduism I find enjoyable.
There is festival named Dheenga Gawar in which women march in different costumes with stick and beat any men they find on street....In jodhpur Rajasthan
The comments give you the absolute gamut of fun that goes around in sanatana Dharma. In bengali there is a saying, baro naashay taeoro porbon the underlying belief in the statement being there are more festivals than there are months in a year. So there's always a pick me up celebration to look forward to for all practicing sanatanis. The mundane always exists with the transcendent.
Shawn ! I was a 4 years child when I asked my grandfather, "is there God, where does he live, what does he like, how and what he eats, is he an angry person? -Which place do you like to live, He asked me - under the lemon house, I replied (I had made an alcove under two lemon shrubs standing and messing with each other thickly with the permission and help of our house manager and I sat many times a day under it). -ok, The God also lives under the lemon shrubs and he eats what you like and he is never angry, go and play in your lemon house with him. That was my first lesson of Hinduism. Thank you
Hinduism I like because it's sacred, holy and beautiful religion. But there's no non vegans in temples inside it's prohibited to Holy pictures of Gods and Holy Statues. I'm non vegan I'm proud to stay that way. Also if your non vegan have you heard about haram meat? It's similar to Halal
