I've synched the originally silent 8mm footage from the Philadelphia, Milwaukee and Hartford shows with the New Jersey show radio broadcast audio, and then edited them together into a continuous mash-up. The Milwaukee footage is sadly rather dark, but I've managed to decipher the action from the light show.

I still can't believe that as huge as Yes was in 1976 that there isn't a really good professionally shot concert video of them from that time with excellent picture and sound, especially when they had an unprecedented stage show with the lasers and 3 headed snake. Everyone in Yes' management and the record company must have been really high to not think to put forth the effort to do it.

+M.T. Chris Squire said in an interview from 2013 : " I’m very upset to tell you that the film from the Cobo Hall, which I believe there were three or four nights of material seem to have evaporated. Although over the years I have tried on many occasions to locate that footage, so far I’ve never had any luck. So if you hear anything about it, please let me know. When I hear the opening sounds of "Firebird Suite" I still get goosebumps. First saw them in '75. Last saw them in '13. Met the band... Chris and I chatted for over 5 minutes ! Talked about Jerry Miller (from Moby Grape). He's from Tacoma ! And plays here all the time. Chris said he'd have to come by sometime. But then... :-(

I saw the Relayer tour in Liverpool UK back in 75 the same venue and year I saw Genesis Lamb tour. Thanks for doing this. I saw them at Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham, Alabama on June 2nd, 1976 and was never the same afterwards. Granted, I was an impressionable 18 year old kid, but I had never seen anything like that performance and have not since.

Yes at their absolute peak imo. I'm not knocking Going for the One but Relayer was their most radical and dynamic work. The people who witnessed them performing live at this time were part of something extraordinary. I'm sure if they released "Soon" as a single they'd have a number 1 hit in no time flat. There is a new generation out there who would lap it up.

I am from Germany. When I was 15 years old I had some problems in school - one morning I had to leave the classroom. So I went downtown to a record shop. I recognized a strange cover. Relayer. I took the headphones and listened to Sound Chaser. I had no idea what this beautiful strange noise meant ... but I was absolutely sure that this music was performed by ALIENS. It was completely different from what I used to listen to. Of course I was too young to really understand the complexity of that music. But by listening to Sound Chaser and The Gates of Delirium I entered a dream world ... the invention of AM ( Artificial Music ) ... I tried to imagine how they would look like on stage ... ... A year later I bought "Views" from Roger Dean. Now I was infected by the YES virus. The ignition point for my design career. I bought Yessongs and loved it - but Relayer remained ALIEN STUFF. In 1977 Going for the One was released and at my first listening I was disappointed. Later I experienced my first Yes live gig in Düsseldorf, my hometown. It was great to see my Prog heroes - but since my acoustic defloration through RELAYER - I didn´t want petting. I needed hotter stuff ... Of course Awaken and Parallels are really great tunes ( and today I Iove the record ) and for sure Wakeman is the keyboard wizard. Then I bought the next Roger Dean book - Magnetic Storm in 1980 - I had my first glimpse of the Crap Nebula Stage designed by Roger´s brother Martyn Dean. WOW. From that moment on I waited all my life to capture some live footage of the 1976 YES tour. All my li(v)fe. I think that the 1975 gig at QPR is not really a milestone. Despite the bad sound the whole environment doesn´t seem to reflect the class of YES music and stage design. I think in 2003 I saw the YES symphony tour ... and they performed THE GATES OF DELIRIUM. The orchestra, YES and Brislin did a good job. in the last 50 years I had the pleasure to experience serveral live gigs from YES, Pink Floyd, Genesis & ELP ... ... but the 1976 YES Crap Nebula Tour is probably the tour I really missed the most. This footage portraits a blurred dream. But at least I came a bit closer. Thank you.

I was at the JFK June 12, 1976 show, my 4th YES show, ( all Relayer era, also Dec-1974, July, 21,22, -1975 ) this was one tour they should have gone ALL out, and captured video/audio, for posterity! The JFK show had excellent weather and 150,000 - ( full capacity at the Philadelphia "horse shoe" style, with an identical seat row pitch angle, comparable to the Rose Bowl. The laser lighting with a full moon rising in the east during Close to the edge that night ... I have seen YES 58 more times since through 2014. That show, out of the 62 ... was # 1 on my personal list ...the best.

CHARLES NOLAN Oh great break my heart even more... I made the mistake of going there with friends who drove us and we were there really early.. All smoked up in the horrible heat with cotton mouth and I think that was the show they wouldn't let us bring any drinks too.. things were so bad they had to bring water trucks and people were getting in fights in the line at the water truck... but I felt great because it seemed as if everybody I grew up with and went to school with was there including my brother... .. right after YES came out... no lie... about 2 minutes after they came out, my girlfriend's husband says "come on we got to go ..we're leaving.." I couldn't believe it and looked around but no longer saw my brother and any other familiar faces that maybe I could get a ride home with. I had very little money on me and knew I was too tired to take two Subways and a bus home ; and my other option was a Subway and the train with a very long uphill walk and I just knew I didn't have the energy. .. I just remember being kind of stoned.. I couldn't believe this was happening and I looked back at the stage one last time, looked up at the full moon and could see the light show hitting the side of my face and some of the beams flashing on people and I just was really as miserable as a person could be when I was leaving there. and I really did feel like a hostage who had no choice but to go with them because they had driven me there and I wasn't going to be able to get anybody to drive to the stadium and pick me up.

Was there schooled on Yessongs and the debut album and clueless to the tunes from Relayer and Topographic. Drained from the heat of the day and kind of cold from the temp drops at night. Went home, educated myself on their entire catalog and wish they had a quality film of that day and night at JFK including mummer string band, Pousett Dart Band, Gary Wright, Frampton at the height of his fame, half pint orange drink containers being tossed by 100K plus and finished off by Yes!

They actually did film a few shows on the tour, but reportedly the director absconded with the footage, basically ripping the band off (though one version of the story I heard was, the band refused to pay the director, after they saw some of the footage, which they thought was poorly shot, so the director refused to hand over the footage).

Well lucky you because I made the mistake of going there .. JFK Stadium Philly with some friends of mine who drove us and we were there early very early.. We were there during the heat the horrible heat and people standing in line at the water trucks fighting... and them being mean and throwing stuff on stage at the poor Mummers and them trying to boo poor Gary Wright off stage even though he did a beautiful job especially on Dreamweaver.. And then Frampton came out and blew us away with Do You Feel Like We Do and it's incredible wind up to the end and his thank you.. And then about 2 minutes after YES comes out my girlfriend's husband says come on we got to go and I thought why are we leaving ...where are we going ? I had very little money and no longer saw my brother and all the other familiar faces that were there from my neighborhood and school ...and I was too tired to even think about taking 2 Subways and a bus home or Subway and the train home with a long uphill walk afterwards.. ... and I really felt like a hostage to my friends who had to leave but I came in their car. All I remember was looking around at everybody and looking back at the stage and the light show and then looking up at the sky and sort of seeing the light show out of the corner of my eye as I left and felt really miserable.. I really couldn't believe what was happening

I was at the Philly show at JFK , the Roosevelt Stadium show (source of the music) and again in Pittsburgh later the same month. A good friend of mine shot some footage of the JFK show on a high end 8mm camera without sound which I believe he still has. He met up with Squire in the early 2000s and offered to show it to him. Squire seemed interested but never followed up with my friend. I have seen Yes over 50 times since the CTTE tour in '72 and this "Solos" tour was by far the best set of concerts they ever did. Amazing stage setup and incredible playing by the guys. I am so glad I got to experience these events back then. It was a golden age for progressive music.

I was there and yet I wasn't ... I had just graduated high school and went there really early with my friends and it seems like everybody I grew up with and everybody I went to school with was there... it was crazy hot that day we were all smoked up.. cottonmouth pretty early on and I think that was the concert they wouldn't let us bring any drinks. .. it was so hot and they actually bought a water truck and it look like one of those Oil Trucks that delivers oil to your house in the winter except it had water in it and we were standing in line and some people were getting in fights in the line. People were getting feisty and I remember them throwing shit on stage at the poor Mummers guy. And some of them were booing at Gary Wright even though he did a beautiful job especially on Dreamweaver... Frampton came out and blew us away, really devastated us with "do you feel like we do " and to this day I just never will forget that and the ending and thank you. So now YES comes out and right after they start my girlfriend's husband says come on we got to go. I couldn't believe it and it was like I was hit by a thunderbolt... and I'm thinking go ? where.we going.?. but he drove us all there and now I didn't really see my brother and all the familiar faces anywhere and I didn't have much money on me... I certainly did not feel like taking 2 subways and the bus home ... or Subway and train and long uphill walk home . I really wanted to stay.. I just couldn't believe this and didn't have enough money for a cab.. I really felt like a hostage and so I got up with them and left.. and looked around and looked back at the stage and looked at everybody else .. and the light show and just couldn't believe this was happening ... and that was my Yes concert in Philly in 76 .

I looked the forgotten yesterdays, but I remember that night very well. They played the opening to And You And I and went right into Sound Chaser. I am guessing the forgotten yesterdays list is from their set list, but they decided to drop Siberian.

Plaudits and kudos.... a FINE job indeed !!! Now if only I can find a '76 show where they have the clouds in the background during middle of "And You and I" ! I would pay dearly to see that again. I was up front and it filled my senses. And at 18:35... anyone hear a bit of "Olias of Sunhillow" ?

Masterful job.As Pesce would say..it brought me back to my yute! Saw them last month with my 15 year old son. Needed to see and hear Howe and Squire as he has gotten heavily into Yes. If you close your eyes this kid sounds like a young Anderson on certain songs. Always hoping they put differences aside, get Wakeman to come back and tour the small venues just one more time before they all go away.

Chris Squire is the best! I saw Yes in 1976 Relayer-Solos Tour and Partick Moraz who is on the video was their keyboardist then, they were excellent and the light show was the best I have ever seen to this day no close 2nd.

OH MY GOD!!! 1976 crab nebula footage has finally surfaced! And you synched correct audio to the silent 8 millimeter film! Seriously, this is the Holy Grail of Yes video. Now, if only someone could unearth barnacle stage footage. Hed, until you did this, aside from that one minute nebula snippet elsewhere on You Tube, there's only that unverified "Yes Fable" or "Yes Lore" about that canadian film crew that shot an entire nebula show but it came out too dark & the reels are sitting in storage.

Steve Howe made the Yeasongs movie... Don't you think that he would have continued filming Yes as they evolved? Of course he did. Steve Howe has footage in his possession...he is ever the wisest of the group. I believe that he will release lots of classic Yes footage in good time. I want it now of course. That's my opinion and I welcome yours..

A few minutes ago I became curious if Rick Wakeman ever played Gates of Delirium. I decided to try ChatGPT on that question. It answered saying that Rick played in Relayer album. I pointed out the mistake, and ChatGPT apologized. I insisted, and it said that Rick played GoD on 2002 orchestral tour. I said "wrong again, Tom Brislin played on that tour". ChatGPT apologized and I asked again. Then ChatGPT said that Rick and Patrick Moraz played together on the Union tour in 1991. "Wrong again", I said, "the keyboardists at that time were Rick and Tony Kaye". Then finally ChatGPT gave up and acknowledged that it didn't have any information about Rick playing GoD. In summary, instead of just saying "I don't know", ChatGPT tried to fool me three times making up fake information.

When I saw them the first time-'74-I was only fifteen. I swear to God I was buzzed for days after the '76 show. I recently located negatives I took in '77 and '78. The Going For The One show I sat third row, center. It's a pain in the ass anymore trying to get prints from negatives. If you lemme know how to reach you, and when I finally get the prints, I'll send you one. Gotta share the wealth.....

saw this tour and people in the audience were experiencing orgasms if you listened to the crowd all you heard was everyone going wow in unison as they experienced the bliss of samadhi, union with the universe, and becoming one with all that is. Perhaps the single greatest non sexual moment of my life. If I could go back in time to any moment and take anyone with me this would be the time. I am still looking for the who. No pun intended. People actually made clothing in the style of YES for this.

QUESTION TO THE UPLOADER: Is this part of the footage that Michele Marie Moore had captured on her video camera? I ask because according to what she had wrote years ago about Yes' 1976 Solo Tour, only three videos exist. One is B&W & only about 8 min long, perhaps taken in Minnesota. A second film, also 8 min, is said to exist - but in fact may only be a myth. The third is Michele Marie Moore's 8 mm full color reels taken during taken during the roadie set-up & concert in Dallas, Texas, August 6, 1976 - which what is what this appears to be? If it is, any idea where the rest of the footage is? I ask because she also mentions that she got backstage to record the roadies unloading equipment & assembling the stage. Something I'd love to see. So if this video is indeed from another source, kindly let me know. BTW, good job patching the audio to the video! I can only imagine how tedious is must had been.

Hed, I have a question. How come this is all in 5/10/15 second bits of footage? Did the people who produced the films actually NOT film any sequences for longer than these short clips? If so, that's pretty weird that fans would make the effort to lug one of those 8mm film cameras (that were cumbersome) to a show and not film even one complete song from start to finish. On another note, this is a remarkable effort to synch all these video clips up to the audio - it's fantastic! In place of the bumblers who made Yes videos such as the pathetic Keys To Ascension DVD from 1996 where the audio is often a full second or more off from the video, they should have hired you. :)

Howe improvised a lot of notes, he was such a diverse guitarist and played with such gusto back then. I wonder what the drum solo in 'Ritual ' would have been like if played by Near Peart? probably the other band members wouldn't have had to add extra percussion 😁
