(Based on ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NBH_HJjD6ik.html) Us: Steve, can we have a Yes reunion? Steve: (says the *opposite* of what he says in 3:25)
Alan's health condition hinders his playing therefore to complete the tour, Jay Schellen was called up. In fact Alan only played in three songs in each night in the Japan Tour. Glad that the band keep his place as a recognition Kaye is the original keyboard player so it's reasonable that Steve added him to the bill. .
Going to the Artpark show 06-25 - Jon sounds good - gives a valiant performance. Nobody's Jon Anderson. I though it was well done - different a bit but well done - Artpark will be cool.
I have loved Yes for many, many years. Saw them 7 times back "in the day." But, this is not Yes. They should change the name of THIS band to "No." Steve Howe.... please retire OR, somehow bring back Rick, Jon A, Bill Bruford, and someone to play bass.... maybe Tony Levin... or Sherwood.
I mean now Rush are officially through it might be nice to see Geddy with them. Pipe dream of course but he looked great with them at the Hall of Fame induction.
That's Jay Schellen. Alan White was unable to perform for extended period due to his back injury ( in fact he only played in three songs each night). Therefore Jay was called up as the second drummer for the tour
I saw all the three nights. On the content the second night was the most comprehensive. They played "Does It Really Happen?" and "Soon" (which they played on that night only among the five Japan performances)
This is astounding. They made it so special for Tokyo. Why is it that some people hate any small evolution in a group's sound? Howe found people to keep it true. White is not well, but after 47 years, deserves our patience. The other members got his back totally.
A fun game would be to use a points system to pick which combinations of Yes members (and former members) have to be in any combination for it to work. Maximum number of members if 5. The minimum number of points is around 15. Each former or current member gets a point rating. Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Steve Howe, and Rick Wakeman each get assigned, say, +4 points. Alan White, Bill Bruford and Trevor Rabin are +3 each. Tony Kaye, Geoff Downes, Billy Sherwood, Jon Davison and Trevor Horn are +2. Special guests are worth no points. The group in this video doesn't have enough points!
Check out the Asia videos from this same concert, they actually rock, and Yes and Asia are 3/5 the same people these days. So why is Yes so bad, I wonder? I see Howe/Downes/Sherwood and company as an acting troupe, some nights they perform a show called "Yes" and some nights a show called "Asia"-and the "Asia" one is way better, lol!
I love Steve Howe and his solos but this is purely a cover band that has nothing to do with YES the vocalist is indecent Jon has a wonderful and inimitable voice and then I want Rick Wakemann back
Dream on. Howe is a top 10 world guitarist. He IS Yes now that squire is dead. I love anderson but will admit Davidson rises to occasion. And don't forget Wakeman was not always a part, 2 other main keyboardists.
Bored is generous, sounds like he can barely get through the song, sloppy as hell. Salut to the man. Been cranking this song out for half a god damn century, my god.
