The difference between this style and more modern rap is in the cadence. This sounds similar to normal speech, but with a rhythmic swing. It amplifies the beat and makes you nod your head. Modern rap find one rhythm (usually a triplet), and repeats it even if it doesn't match the beat or the words. It's mostly just annoying and lazy. So glad to see the OGs still care to bless the mic like how they used to do
