I have a large Pyrite with drop point blade, and it's awesome. Loved the look of that mini, and the bowie blade is an excellent addition. The scales on it would go great on the large aluminium Pyrite handle
Mr. MC...I think you have an idea for your next merch drop that could be in the works..T-shirts with your logo & "Metal Complex I don't have weak thumbs!" 😅
The size and location of CJRBs logo on the pyrite is how it should be on all their models. It looks so much better imo, and the vast majority of the knife community seems to strongly agree. CJRB and other budget companies should take note. I also wish they'd put jimping on finger choils along with chamfering and texturing the edge of the lock bar. Small changes that make a big difference. I think the small additional price to do such changes would be well worth it. I can't imagine it costing them much more... but maybe I'm wrong about that. They would definitely sell more knives though
@monkpato to each their own but finger choils are popular, and I personally love being able to comfortably choke up on the blade. Finger choils are great for utility cut grip too.
I like a lot of the crjb designs. Just wish they had some intermediate steels to choose from seems like 2ish models in d2, then a bunch in their spray form fancy 440b or a few s90v. How about a steel that falls somewhere in the middle.
The Nova has the blade style I’ve been hunting for, but that handle isn’t inspiring confidence at all. Keep that exact blade shape around, on a better handle, and we’ll see what’s what… Thanks MC!
Correction; S90V is an excellent steel, literally one of the best edge retaining stainless compositions offered in the knife world. It's the difference in heat treatment between companies that will lend to crappy experiences with S90V or any steel for that matter. Luckily the treatment of S90V doesn't require an exceptionally high HRC like M390/20CV in order for the composition to excel. I don't like seeing any high vanadium powder steels below 60-61 HRC, but it doesn't have to hit between 62-64 HRC like M390 in order to do well.
I released this after the review. A rare goof up but an authentic one. The review was genuinely recorded after the unboxing but they got flip flopped in the schedule. Sorry about that.
What drives me nuts is that it's practically torture to even find the range of HRC on blades anymore.... There's tons of "super" steels that become litteraly budget tier steel without the proper heat treat.
I just KNEW for one of those knives was going be a Pyrite…🤦🏻♂️😂 Why are they still sending pyrite variations out to be reviewed? The knife has been out for like two years now… yes it’s a good knife, but we don’t need more reviews on the pyrite… Not coming at Metal Complex because he’s got a review what’s given to him. I just don’t know why CJRB keeps sending the same knife to be reviewed every single time they change scales, colors, blade steel, etc… It’s like if Groundhog Day was a knife company 🤯🔫
When you are saying something just say it instead of apologizing and over explaining needlessly. It's annoying to listen to someone apologizing and explaining for 30 seconds they have average or above average thumb strength.
