It is still working great! I have a Lincoln Viking that I use for fine Tig work because it has a little more clarity for my aging eyes. But that helmet cost me $320 and the Yeswelder I use for all my Mig work and it still works perfect. It doesn’t have as many sensors as the Lincoln and if you are out of position doing Tig work it will sometimes flash me at low amperage welding due to the location of the sensors. But for 95% of the welding that I do, it works great. Especially if all you are doing is Mig and stick weld or Tig above 90 amps. For the money it is a great helmet. Hope this helps! Don 😊👍

I've never heard of Yes Welders before, but after seeing a lot of reviews on the new clear view full colour type helmets I browsed EBAY and decided on one I thought would fit the bill........Yes Welders model LYG-800 HP going at A$93.00 coming on 24th June......the lens is huge with a view area of 100mm X 93mm.....no side windows and has outside setting knobs. Long story short.....I bought a cold welder and have difficulty seeing the tungsten tip through the old auto helmet I have which has the murky green lens when clear and this leads to constant dipping in the muck.....I'm not a welder at all and only do it for fun but have previously in another life done welding in industry on and off over the last 60 years or so.......now I have a definite need for Tig welding and some projects that need a steady hand and eye.

I am really excited about SEEING so much more, with the added bonus of LEAVING MY GLASSES ON -- which I cannot easily do with my current helmet. I've had a Miller ProHobby autodarkening helmet for many years - and it has been 100% reliable - BUT this Yeswelder Q800D is gonna be a great improvement in pure visibility, viewing area, and convenience with my glasses. Thanks again. PS: I am really impressed with this Yeswelder company. I got their 250P AC/DC TIG welder not long ago and am nothing but impressed at the value of their products and customer service. The outside brightness feature is great until you're welding in a confined area and bump your head on something, thus turning the brightness way down and get arc flashed.
@PranaTech
@PranaTech 3 года назад
Hi Doug, I’ve never had that happen but that would be a bummer. Occasionally I get flashed when Tig welding hot rolled steel that isn’t super clean. I thought it was the helmet, but it happens with all my helmets and after doing research it comes from dirty steel and the weld burns like a supernova for a second. It really stinks to get flashed!😬

I was very disappointed in my Yes Welder series 800 helmet. It worked fine for stick welding on a transformer machine, it worked fine for DC Tig welding on a transformer machine, but it flashes on and off while DC Tig welding on an inverter machine. Aluminum welding on AC works fine, but standard DC on an inverter turns the helmet on and off, flashing my eyes. All 4 arc sensors are functioning and I am simply welding bead on plate, so we are not looking at the arc being hidden behind pipe. My other "green color" auto darkening helmets work fine, but, my Yes Welder helmet does not.

You pop off the square frame on the inside of the helmet that holds in the darkening lens assembly. Once that is off you can lift out the lens and access the door on the upper right corner and slide it up and off. The battery slides out to the right. Replace battery and reverse these steps. 😊👍

For what it is worth, I use to own an AHP 201XD Tig and it was a great machine! I learned to weld aluminum on that machine and it was a great welder. They build very high quality welding equipment! I sold that Tig only because I needed more amperage. I now have an Everlast 325 amp Tig and it works phenomenal! From what I understand Everlast is the parent company for AHP. 😊👍

@@PranaTech THAT'S FUNNY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHICH COMPANY OWNS WHAT. WOULD YOU KNOW IIF THAT YES HELMET USES A COMMON TYPE CHEATER LENS? THINKING ABOUT THIS OR THE NEW MILLER HELMET.
@PranaTech
@PranaTech Год назад
Hi Thomas, I tried using cheater lenses once and didn’t like them because they limited my view to only where the lens was. I then switched to just wearing reading glasses with about 2.5x and have liked that option better because wherever I look, I get the magnified view. I haven’t used the new miller helmet yet but theirs are always great. I use a Lincoln Viking 3350 for all my Tig welding because it has the brightest and clearest view out of any helmet I’ve ever tested. As my eyes get older, I need all the help I can get. I use the Yeswelder helmet for all my mig welding and it works great for that. 😊👍

Hi Tom, you will only have the bright light of welding come in through the front of the helmet. The sides will only receive peripheral light from the arc and this is not damaging in any way. You will see what I mean once you get to welding with it and then you will see how enjoyable these helmets are to weld with.😊👍

Update please. I’ve read that people have experienced flashes and back straps have issues with adjustment
@PranaTech
@PranaTech Год назад
Good morning! Ok, I’ve been running these helmets for quite a while and I will give you my experience. The headgear is junk. Mine stopped working after 4 months when the back ratchet failed and wouldn’t stay tight anymore. I first replaced it with a miller set and it was better but recently I replaced it with a Lincoln Viking X6 set and it is amazing now. It installs with no modifications at all.👍 Ok, flashing. The only time that I have ever been flashed is when Tig welding thin steel at low amperage’s. It has only occurred once in a while and I always attributed it to dirty materials or me not having the arc sensors clear to the welding arc(ie: my hands or torch in the way so the sensors are blocked from seeing the arc). I will say that it never happens when welding aluminum. It annoyed me enough to purchase a Lincoln Viking helmet to have for Tig welding specifically. I spent $345 for what I consider the finest helmet on the market only to still be flashed occasionally. 🙁 After a lot of research on this subject and paying attention to when the flashing happens, I’ve determined that it only happens when I get my weld puddle too hot with carbon steel and with stainless steel when a contaminant comes to the surface or oxidation from the backside of the weld comes through due to me not controlling the heat. Knowing these things, I very rarely get flashed any more. It is always when I am not cleaning things enough or too much heat. Also, I have found that grinding off all of the carbon mill scale off hot rolled steel helps to prevent this as well. Overall these are great helmets for the price. I use my Yeswelder daily for mig welding because I don’t want to beat up my Lincoln helmet doing structural mig welding. I would gladly buy another Yeswelder helmet. For the price they are the best out there especially if you put the Lincoln headgear on it. Hope this helps.😁👍Don

I Hate All These Ads. great a Welder that can weld. Best Helmet I have ever seen is made by Kimberly-Clark for Jackson. It's better than the Hobart, Miller, and Lincoln brands I have used

It’s not a helmet. It’s a hood. Football helmets and motorcycle helmets are different than this because it’s a hood.

Replaceable battery the best
@mikebrighindi
@mikebrighindi 4 года назад
@@LC-fl3zm Dude any quality Hood you buy should have a replaceable battery. Never go with a replacement lens with a non replaceable battery, you will wind up spending more money in the long run. A good Hood should have solar charging panels in the lens itself. I've had batteries that have lasted at least two years.

Why don't you just move to China you seem to love their junk so much. First off YOU HAVEN'T OWNED A PRO HELMET YET.. $300 is mid level. Not top line anything

Wow, you seem upset. I know it may be hard to imagine, but not everyone can afford a $300 to $500 helmet. Sorry you were so offended by my review. No hard feelings though, ok.😁👍

I have a question I got this same helmet for my birthday and the lenses keep clicking in and out of darkness and then stops darkening do you also have that problem and how do I fix it
@PranaTech
@PranaTech 4 года назад
Hi there, try turning down the sensitivity. Mine is so sensitive that it will pick up my fluorescent lights and I solved it by just turning down the sensitivity until it stopped the clicking on and off.👍😀
