UGU Zach You can't it's ridiculous, they could bann guns but then you will get these fuck wits complaining saying how can we defend ourselves now, we cannot win
Someone tried to justify to me that America doesn't need to ban guns because in the UK you're more likely to be killed with a kitchen knife. I tried to explain to him that knives have more uses than guns but he wouldn't listen, I bet that guy would peel potatoes with a pistol if he could.
Yesterday the UK remembered a school shooting. The attack in Dunblane (Scotland) left 17 innocent people dead. The majority of these were only children, at 5 years of age. After this ONE event there was a complete change in the lives of British people. The gun laws on hand guns were changed and the whole system for school security was revolutionised. ONE TIME. How many will it take before America realises that they need to change?
+Rebecca Fowkes-smith The shooting community after Dunblane was used as a scape goat to cover up police failures. Thomas Hamilton should have never been given a firearms license in the first place. He was kicked out of a boy scout club for pedophilic behavior, that alone should have prevented him from obtaining a Firearms Certificate, but he was granted one. He was also reported by his neighbors for behaving erratically, yet his license was not revoked. He was reported to the local police commissioner on more than one occasion as being unsuitable to own firearms, yet still his license was not revoked as the commissioner was a personal friend of his. There was nothing wrong with the UK's gun laws at the time and they didn't need to be changed. It was simply a knee jerk reaction that statistically has solved nothing and handgun crime increased dramatically after 1998. This often results in the common myth that the UK is now a safer place because handguns are banned, when this is simply not the case. There were less gun crimes when they were legal and there has never been a high rate of gun crime in this country, it's much higher now than it was 100 years ago when there were almost no gun laws at all. There was never a mass school shooting before Dunblane either, so there is no correlation of events that have decreased after a ban was implemented, because there was only one in the first place. Therefore you can not say that it has prevented any more school shootings from happening. Gun crime in a country is of no direct result of it's gun laws. Switzerland, Finland, Czech Republic, Canada etc all have high gun ownership rates but a very low gun crime rate. There is also a very consistent trend of States in America with tighter gun laws generally have higher gun crimes than the states with laxer laws. The society makes the difference, not inanimate objects.
Can you seriously tell me that instances like the individual involved in the Dunblane case haven't happened, and are still happening, in countries that allow guns to be owned by ordinary people? At least if you remove the possibility of owning a firearm then people like him wouldn't even have to chance to storm into a school and take innocent lives. 100 years ago guns would not have been as easily purchased by the everyday person. Also, just because there has been a statistical increase in gun crime means nothing. There has also been an 'increase' in knife crime but that can largely be down to the fact that police are put under pressure to reduce it and as such are on the look out for more knife crime. The media shows an increase in crime and it causes a moral panic, the police actually have no idea how much crime is being committed. There is a 'dark figure', an amount of crime that is unknown becuase of the fact that people are too scared to come forward, they don't even know they are entitled to justice or they simply don't trust the system. What I mean to say is that there was a police crackdown on gun crime after Dunblane. We realised that people and guns were dangerous together and so the police found more gun crime becuase they are searching for it. Perhaps there has not been an increase in violence with a firearm but an improvement in the police force. Anyway, the point I was making is that we made CHANGES. We saw that the system was fucked up and so we changed laws and protocols so that the same thing would be less likely to happen. You can defend the sale of guns all you want but it comes down to the fact that the UK does not experience the statistical level of school shootings that America does.
Rebecca Fowkes-smith Wrong. In fact 100 years ago guns were far far easier to purchase in the UK than they are today. In 1900 you didn't even need a license to own or carry a pistol in public, yet there were very few shootings in comparison to the early 2000s. The stronger controls have only come in during the last 30 years or so and in the usual fashion, have penalized law abiding target shooters whilst having practically no effect on gun crime. The system was not 'fucked up' whatsoever. As I explained, there was no problem with legal handgun ownership in this country, their use in crime was minuscule and far outweighed by the use of illegal firearms by common criminals. The penalization of thousands of law abiding sport shooters due to the acts of one deranged individual was completely unjustified. There was nothing wrong with the current firearm laws of the time and Dunblane wouldn't have happened if the local police had actually enforced the laws in Hamilton's case. The laws were already strict and there were already measures in place (There had been for years) to stop such individuals from having legal firearms in their possession. They were not enforced by the local police and as consequence, a complete lunatic was able to legally possess firearms. This should have never have happened but it did due to police failures that could have been easily avoided. Regardless of your personal stance on gun ownership, these are just plain simple facts that cannot be argued with. I encourage you to look more deeply into the case and you will begin (Should you allow yourself) to better understand my points. Have a nice night.
While I understand what you're saying you failed to address the points I made. Current gun laws in America don't prevent mass shootings. Saying that it was unfair to revoke the licenses of common people because of one crazy person is stupid. Laws are put in place to prevent the minority from doing bad things. Americans justify their gun laws by saying that they need it for 'protection' or that it is their 'right' to own one but shouldn't the lives of their children be more important than that? I'm a rather pessimistic person (maybe just realistic) so I doubt that change will happen any time soon but it just makes me sad. It makes me sad that people die for nothing. It may be the fault of the police, it may be the fault of one crazy guy with a gun. It may be a combination of the two but either way humans suck.
+TaZ101SAGA I see you're good at pulling numbers out of your arse mate. the point is, we have less gun problems in britain, not saying we don't have any, but they are very rare and easily resolved, also, there has been no incident in recent years involving school shootings. The few "shootings" we have had, if you can call them shootings, were tied to drug trafficking, and involved 2 deaths at most. Gun laws have dramatically reduced the chances of a shooting because no one carries fucking guns around like some paranoid fucktards. At the end of the day, America needs proper gun laws, not "gun control" cause that does fuck all, do that, and bob's your uncle.
+overTIMe I doubt anyone would listen besides the GOP somehow did this qz.com/565647/the-us-senate-just-voted-to-block-gun-control-defund-planned-parenthood-and-gut-obamacare/
It became a shooting range the day the brain dead, moron stuck up a sign saying GUN FREE ZONE and was dumb enough to think it would stop criminals. With stupidity on that level I wonder how that person can even breathe.
Americans be like "The reason I think it is good that guns are legal and easily accessible in this country is because I can protect myself if someone tries to shoot me". Fucking geniuses.
+ThemeParkMite Sadly that's their main argument. "Self Defence" or What if someone breaks into my house?. The second amendment is 200 years old, it has no place in 2015.
You know what the worst thing is? Big corporations know that guns are dangerous and that owning one is stupid, but they don't care due to the money that they're receiving. Basically, they're using all these gun obsessed idiots to make a profit.
+ThemeParkMite i'd be glad to turn my guns in as soon as all those public officials have their security detail turn theirs in and president obama's kids don't have snipers in buildings guarding them at school. and if you can guarantee bad guys don't have any either. of and if you can also make sure the mexican cartel promises not to bring in more guns from down south. kk, you geniuses make it happen.
I'M AN AMERICAN STUCK IN A LAND OF CRAZIES! SOMEONE RESCUE ME BEFORE A MADMAN SHOOTS ME IN A STORE BECAUSE HE THOUGHT EVERYONE'S UNDER GOVERNMENT MIND CONTROL!
Yeah it’s annoying when comedians talk about serious topics but then ruin it with a cheap joke just never mention it if you’re going shit all over it like that
I find this "It's my right, It's in the second amendment!" quite funny. So originally it wasn't a right, the constitution was then *amended* so it became one. Originally slavery was also in there but again it was *amended* and taken out. There's nothing stopping it from being *amended* again as times have moved on.
To *amend* means to change. So originally it was ok to keep slaves and the constitution reflected that. Your constitution was then amended (changed) to make it unconstitutional.
the problem is that the first 10 amendments were introduced at the same time as the actual constitution-those 10 amendments are called "the bill of rights" which means it would be very, very, very difficult to change/get rid of those amendments because they're seen to be "entrenched"
Dude, Planned Parenthood clinics aren't even abortion clinics, sure the doctors there do such procedures but they're mainly for women's health. The clinic where I'm at only does wellness exams, STI treatments and such, my mom even went to Planned Parenthood when she was pregnant with me to make sure I was healthy during development. I don't get this thing with pro-lifers terrorizing these clinics.
+Dani bro I don't normally engage in comments on youtube that are about sensitive topics, but I feel a bit compelled to say SOMETHING here. The Planned Parenthood in my town experiences weekly pickets from concerned citizens with all of their signs condemning Planned Parenthood as some sort of abortion factory. That Planned Parenthood does not perform abortions whatsoever. I have no idea who their audience even is, who they think they'll reach. I can only assume they're just there for affirmation from like-minded individuals, which itself is pitiful. Whenever I have a health need Planned Parenthood is equipped to cover, I go there to show my support for what they do. Plus, I trust them. They do a lot of good, and I think it's profoundly sad how willfully misinformed some people can be. And unfortunately, radicalized pro-lifers have existed here for decades, they'll continue to exist, continue to kill, and nothing will be done about it. The world is a real fucked place.
+Blorp Weatherby Nothing to do with the subject, just to do with the first bit but - you should comment more, maybe you can teach people to be more logical and mature.
Exactly. Abortions only covered 2% of PP's services. But you got religious tools in government. And the whole point of anti-abortion violence is that they can't beat you in a debate, so they're just going to kill you.

Dani bro planned parenthood prevents more pregnancies than conservatives. -*They prevent more abortions than conservatives*. conservatives are against teaching sex ed in schools (ways of protection from *unwanted pregnancy* and STDs) Planned parenthood gives condoms and birtch control to those who cant afford it, so you know, *girls can continue their eduxation and get good jobs and be financially stable to where if they DECIDE to have a child, they can fully support the child with no anxiety*
+Kaltagstar96 You got that right! All I see from where I live in England is people who oppose Obama being racist and fucking stupid. And everyone supporting Trump being racist and fucking stupid too!
I wish that reporter at the start hadn't called it an abortion clinic. Planned Parenthood is so much more than that. Abortions are such a tiny percentage of what they do. Mostly, Planned Parenthood is a feminine health clinic and sex education place.
In rest of world, countries have usually legally owned guns under control, with licensing system and illegally guns are not as common, but still exist. . However, in Murica, there is so many guns there is noway to control it.
@@Gangster88232 exactly theres more guns than people in there i think. Making licensing stuff now would be either useless or make 90% of the country go to jail.
And to think California experienced a shooting before this was even posted to this channel. We're slowly becoming numb to mass shootings in America, which is both horrific and devastating to realize. California was the 355th mass shooting of 2015. Let that sink in. Just how much longer and how many more of these awful events will it take until we all join together to fix this? :(
+zh11147 Stop letting fuckwits in America have guns. Stricter gun laws. Look at Australia we haven't had a mass shooting since the Port Arthur Massacre in 1996. (Do not quote me on this , I did about 20 minutes of research prior to posting this).
+Amber Austin What makes it worse in response to these horrific events the GOP recently did this: qz.com/565647/the-us-senate-just-voted-to-block-gun-control-defund-planned-parenthood-and-gut-obamacare/
Me: How do we leave? I just want to be a Canadian. Me: *sobs in red white and blue* All of the other countries: ...You should see a doctor you weirdo. I dont know why anyone would bleed in color.
To think, in my Motherland(Poland) they are banning Abortion under any circumstances. Thats why people are running away from countries like these, that dont care about what many women have to go through before they deliver a baby.
@@FirstLast-ys7zn how on earth is it doing the right thing? Genuinely asking on your views. A person has their right to live their life. Having a child is not like owning a gerbil, it's difficult, exhausting, money and time consuming, it can affect your health. Many women fall into depression after birth. Imagine (if you're a woman) being rapped and getting pregnant, or that happening to your daughter, sister or friend even, that's devastating. Does the woman not deserve her right to choose? Pro life people defend fetus rights, often forgetting that the woman who is carrying said fetus has her rights as a human being too.
@@FirstLast-ys7zn While that is true, being rapped is a traumatic experience and the last thing anybody would want to do is give birth to their assaulter's offspring. It's rape. It's self explanatory.
It wasn't even an abortion clinic! That's the really sad thing. That particular PP did not provide abortion services. Mainly birth control and women's health services (paps, breast exams, STI testing, etc).
Obama has the wrong idea. If people didn't have guns then what are we going to do with all our ammo? What we need is more guns! It is a FACT! That a society with guns on every corner, will be the safest place to live. And I bace this, on absolutely nothing. A Vote Donald Duck is a Vote for our Children!
In Texas, you do. If some shithead is trying to rob you of your hard-earned belongings, you can shoot them down if they're in your house. They deserve it, as well. It'll also teach a lesson to anyone else. The less shitheads in the world, the better.
Ulfric Ruthgardsson Except you can't. That's the point I'm making. When you kill someone, you not only take away what they were, but also everything they could be. You don't know what either of their futures were should they not have been killed. If Jihadi Jon had been captured alive, he could have given up valuable information on the locations of IS. But in war, it's kill or be killed. Undeserved, but mandatory.
Joe Phasey Oh, it's completely deserved. Yes, he could have given up information, but if you take people's heads for a living, well... you reap what you sow. If I lost a family member to Jihadi Jon, I wouldn't have given two ounces of deep-fried shit what he could be. At that point, I want him dead. He's a scumbag. I don't care what he could be, because he's already taken someone else's life, and what THEY could've been. And if he'd been captured alive, then the right thing to do would be to get as much information from him as possible, and then kill the fucker. He has no rights to live, because he's taken someone else's rights away. The same goes for Anders Breivik.
You're right in that nobody knows why a woman decides to get an abortion. A woman I know got an abortion a number of years ago when the baby that she very much wanted sadly passed away in utero and she couldn't carry it to term. She was devastated, and she believed that it was her fault. What she did not need was to turn up to the clinic and have a crowd of protesters screaming hateful things at her, calling her a terrible person when she was already so fragile. They had no idea why she was there, and they have no idea how much damage they caused.
The Two Little Pigz You would rather be defenseless then have a gun? In America of all places? Where people illegally buy weapons just like they do in England?
The thing I love about russell Howard is how he speaks his mind and does not worry about it. He will tell jokes and his opinions and he will make it funny or understanding.
TheBookWorm1718 ok but if there weren’t so many guns in the first place you wouldn’t have weapons being fired in the vicinity of school children in the first place. Let’s not try and pretend America doesn’t have a serious, serious murder problem that rivals that of any other modern country on the planet due to their continued lack of any sort of gun control. The U.K. gun death rate is one of the lowest in the wold due to us banning guns. We have about 50 gun deaths per year in the u.k, the USA has thousands, an average of about 33,000
TheBookWorm1718 the U.K does show the murderer’s on the news but we’re not dumb enough to copy their actions. You’ve listed a range of areas of the USA that ‘help make the numbers up of all the murder cases’. It’s still the USA. And they’re still using guns. Guns that they have easy access too. The U.K banned guns, murder rates dropped significantly, same with Australia, Japan, Norway etc. To suggest that banning guns and making it harder for civilians to get hold of them does not in any way improve the situation is just bizarre to me. How many more children need to be brutally murdered before the USA sees sense? It’s idiotic that you don’t think having guns in schools is wrong. A gun behind the teachers desk? You’ve made the problem worse. Your children need to carry out safety drills as to what to do in the case of a school shooting. We don’t have any of that because school shootings are just not a risk. To say the problem isn’t guns is beyond ridiculous.
Killing a person with its own DNA is indeed a choice... Its just illegal by the terms of killing someone who has been born vs a baby (fetus is the same thing as baby, except its in latin). In case giving birth is lethal to either the mom or the baby, you should have no choice over killing or not the baby. It is a living being and you have to accept it. Not your body, not your choice.
Because you only see the dumb shit that goes on in America. Meanwhile US citizens only see the dumb shit that goes on in other countries. It's really a viscous cycle.
Fights between Americans and British people American person: at least we can protect ourselves and our family with our guns British people: yea well at least our schools aren’t considered as shooting ranges as well as the fact our children come back from school ALIVE
Dear America, remember when Australia had that one mass shooting and shortly after, all guns were banned and never had another mass shooting? Just a thought...
I live in the UK were guns are controlled but in one sense her grandfather was right a gun is a tool , but when using any tool you have to have commonsense which some people in the USA don't have. For any nation to think it ok for people to shoot up schools and not do something is not normal , I think the USA needs to wake up and smell the coffee and then come your senses and agree to something to controll the amount of people who are dieing in your own country.
"Prolife" and "prochoice" are stupid words. It should be "prorights" and "non-prorights". A recent studies showed 100% of abortions happen to women who do not wish to be pregnant and 0% by politicians who make the rules.
I hate when I stand outside and shoot my lawn with my Ak47 and people come there like "What are you doing?!" I mean clearly I'm mowing my lawn, now move on please!
its funny people said they have guns for safety rights when their country is know for deads by gun wherelse other country that doesnt have guns are practically safer and better enforcement.
+Blonde Cartoons I think that women should only be able to get an abortion if they were raped or if the mother/ child is in trouble. If you want to go messing around you know the consequences. There are plenty of people who wish they could have children so give it up for adoption. Don't give me that "it's their body". It may be their body, but it's also the baby's.
+Anna McEntire that's the problem. people's arguments always come back to adoptions but people don't seem to understand there are already enough kids waiting for adoption and not enough foster parents to take them. Why should it matter to anyone other than the woman who is doing it. It's not as if they are gonna do it lightly is it. Also, people need to look up the science of abortion before they go around saying that it's murder. Pro-life is not for the quality of life. It's just for existence in general, and that is not always better. You don't know anyones circumstances. just leave them be.
I'm sorry, and I know this is supposed to be a funny comedy stand up, but I have to say this. I am pro life. No, I don't want to go shooting up an abortion clinic. I just think that women should only be able to get an abortion if they were raped or if the mother/ child is in trouble. If you want to go messing around you know the consequences. There are plenty of people who wish they could have children so give it up for adoption. Don't give me any of that "it's their body" crap. Ya it may be their body, but it's also the baby's.
